    nlite 'n' mce

this is what i did to mine http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST...105&t=80212 and it worked! didn't edit anything in txt setup
  2. quickest way is to use nlite.. create a direcotry C:\xpmce copy cd1 contents into the xpmce folder, and then copy cd2 contents into xpmce folder install nlite, and .net 2.0 framework (needs it to run), then remove a couple of things to make it fit (like MSN Explorer, etc etc) makeiso in nlite, then burn to cd using imgburn http://www.nliteos.com/ -nlite http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/ -framework installer http://www.imgburn.com/ -imgburn tool
  3. dont use AOL, its shocking! get a normal isp, and use a router, that way ALL you need to install on your pc is your network card driver
  4. 120% is obsolete daemon tools is free
  5. is the power plugged in? if not then it'll be saving energy by running slower
  6. to burn it you have to BURN IMAGE use imgburn.com to do it, its not a case of copying the iso file to a dvd in nero..
  7. download reshacker.exe http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ then copy your file you want to the system32 folder and call it ntkrnlmp2.exe (or similar) -must be 4bit bitmap (16 colours) now open that file with reshacker and save the bitmaps, then edit them (in paint .net or photoshop etc and place them back in (it'll make sense once you open it) save all the resources now open C:\boot.ini and edit it so it contains the following extra second line.. [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional x64 Edition" /fastdetect EXTRA LINE BELOW! multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Dual Core" /fastdetect /kernel=ntkrnlmp2.exe -don't change your primary line, should work fine
  8. native bluetooth (and wireless) support was developed a lot in SP2! its an SP2 file -just extracted SP2 to a folder here;s the files it contains regarding bluetooth http://bleddyn.co.uk/forums/bth.7z
  9. google for "jcarle compression bin" put modifype into your system32 directory and drag your uncompressed winlogon.exe into compression bin and it'll modifype it and cab it for you, so won't wont bring up an error
  10. nope, its dependant on infrared need to keep both infrared and bluetooth what bluetooth adaptor is it? i've got the driver for the MSI one note : after messing up my earlier installs, i tried adding the bluetooth files back in, but found it didn't work properly so just redid my whole disc, but kept infrared and bluetooth and it worked fine
  11. i used to NOT disable it, because windows would ask for driver approval when plugging in usb hard drives / keys, i think in the newer pack ryan has removed the updated usbstor.sys file (think its called that), so you no longer get the message i now remove cat files, can't say i've noticed any other 'bad' things happening, siginet will know 10x more than me on this though
  12. i've used nlite on 3 or 4 pcs that use nvidia onboard nic, and never had any issues.. download a program called pci32.exe and run that in dos, it'll tell you exactly what type of hardware you have!

  14. my girlfriends creative mp3 player has the same problem as your iaudio when i remove USB Audio Support too
  15. shouldn't really use it on a work domain pal!
  16. what i do is right click a shortcut that i want there and click 'pin to start menu' that way only the ones you want appear there!
  17. thats the version of the XPize Settings menu if you downloaded 4.4.2 it'll be that version, check in add/remove programs if you're worried about it
  18. if he does i'll eat my hat its a beta release dude

    iPod Nano

or buy a proper mp3 player iaudio
  20. did you JUST delete the partitions or did you write to them too? if you just removed them, then testdisk will sort you out! might fix all your problems
  21. download paint.net 2.0 and make your own
  22. any updates on this jcarle?
  23. just uninstall the ones you don't use
  24. you can't simply tell it to 'add office' to nlite install look in the application installs section for the office 2003 reducer tool, and follow the unattended guide on msfn (along with that forum post) to create your install you'll be left with a unattended.mst file, and a few subfolders best way is to follow the msfn guide to using $OEM$ folders (all the information is on the site for you, just read through it) you'll have to create a runonceex.cmd file, and a cmdlines.txt file (they're on the msfn site too) they'll all be in your $OEM$ folder, after running nlite (well just before the makeiso part) copy your $OEM$ folder into your C:\xpcd folder (same folder i386 is in) and then makeiso
