  1. Integral Splash (they have a funky rubber coating, so are splash + drop proof) really smart looking things! have a 512mb blue one (from work) and bought my mrs a 1gb pink one for her college work
  2. its called 'balloon tips' http://www.theeldergeek.com/notification_a...alloon_tips.htm
  3. patch the uxtheme.dll file (nlite can do this, its a tool on msfn) to allow the usage of non microsoft styles this will do your pre-install one to do your current install, use this.. http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707 http://win2k3.msfn.org/themesxtra.htm this is how to apply the theme on first boot you need to put the theme in the corresponding OEM folder as you're using, and make a reg file (from that 2k3 link), execute the reg file and it'll apply the theme
  4. you can also, hold left shift then right click
  5. no idea, i use OEM folders, it doesn't depend on anything else being previously installed though.. i'd wait until the next one comes out, won't be long tux is making it
  6. this will soon be changed to two packages, one totally new installer (kind of a patched 7zip installer) and a patcher only (for current 7zip installs) got a few things to sort out at home first
  7. correct, and loads of crap files are left over, so its best to format the windows partition/drive before installing

    7-Zip

its a windows limitation if you open 7zip, then press F9 (for two panels) you can drag from an archive into a folder (within the 7zip file manager and it'll do it properly)
  9. just for info the one i had was from an official windows mce 2005 branded cd1
  10. was on another forum, and someone wasn't sure what version of windows they had on a disc, someone suggested checking the EULAID in the eula.txt file at the bottom of the MCE one, it says EULAID:MCE05_RM.0_PRO_OEM_EN how do you identify o/s at the moment?
  11. also, if keeping MCE, all media player options should be hidden too
  12. it doesn't need one, use their zip version i keep all my vdub tools on a usb key
  13. this is like an nlite tool for 2000/xp/2003 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en
  14. maybe another program is defaulting it what happens when you double click on the iso? -if 7zip opens, then the icon should be working go into explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types, type iso, go to advanced, and see what icon its trying to use.. point it at %programfiles%\7-zip\Formats\iso.dll
  15. having vista smeared all over xp just looks stupid and tacky imo
  16. can you add Media Player Classic patching to the next version? default location is "%programfiles%\Media Player Classic\mplayerc.exe" couple of bitmaps and the main icons could do with sprusing up, at the moment i'm just manually change the two icons to the mpeg and avi ones from your pack -also, in the msgina file, any chance of deleting the bitmap resources that are not for the current OS you're using.. -ie, remove the 2003 server and home ones if you're using pro, or at least blank them / make them simple
  17. the g is for gz files yes just pm'd you, asking about how to repackage the installer
  18. i really don't know how to do that, wish i did, would have a much smaller filesize at the end then.. i just copy the installer to 7z.exe then the 7zSetup.exe file contains it, does a /S install, patches the icons, registers filetypes then refreshes iconcache
  19. cool by the way, how are mpeg and avi files patched now? do you use the filetype icon method? or patch windows media player files.. i dont have WMP on my main machine, so will need to extract them and do them myself if its not by filetype
  20. look over this.. http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/ http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/18/ http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/14/

    nLite v1.01 Final

i just did a format today, the only compatability i kept was remote desktop i removed i think it was 498 things (possible 509 ish) after integrating ryanvm pack and its working fine and dandy i had to setup firewall rules to allow filesharing, and i was done
  22. yeah, the 7zsetup replaces the installer.. if you just want to patch your current set, then just un Icons.exe
  23. %windir%\resources\themes open your styles with reshacker
  24. %username%\application data\utorrent search for regkey that assigns .torrent files to it i just keep a pc for just downloading, so i never format it myself
