July 24, 200620 yr Can not install MP3 player driver for iAudio U2.When the install driver window comes up I can not install it because Windows can not find the driver.Even if I select the drivers it's the same, can not recognize the drivers.On former nLited WinXP it always worked. Couldn't find anything in my Last Session settings, hope someone else does Thanx in advance!
July 25, 200620 yr Does the U2 require a specific driver? My old iAudio M3 installs as a mass storage device, accessible through Windows explorer.I removed practically all the components, and currently I do not believe it is possible to prevent such devices from installing after using nLite.Take care,Jamesx

July 26, 200620 yr Have you integrated anything else, such as the Minilogon hack - I recall previous experiences where using Minilogon, I was unable to add new (USB) hardware.bledd, ah another iAudio fan - good stuff! Unfortunately, my M3 is inopperable these days, due to a worn connection between the main board and the io/volume board. Fortunately, I can still access the device as a drive to listen to my music collection in WinAMP.Cheers,Jamesx
July 26, 200620 yr Oh, you haven't even removed any components - very strange.In which case, it must be a hotfix issue - I assume you use RyanVM's update pack? Might I suggest you try integrating using Siginet's program rather than nLite. July 27, 200620 yr Author hehe, I thought I removed a lot I used the original M.S hotfixes, can't use a pack coz my WInXP is Swedish.I have also the original drivers for iAudio U2 but as I said they wont install.I probably removed support for this type of hardware but I do not know which one.
July 27, 200620 yr What sort of drivers come with your U2? Are you sure it isn't just the crappy JET Audio player software? You could perhaps try to open the driver installer (.exe file I assume) using 7zip and manually installing the .infI am still clueless however, as I was sure the U2 is detected automatically by Windows as a removable drive (just like a flash key drive for example).On another note, what do you think of the player? I am considering a flash player, however given that 99% of my music is self-ripped ogg, I require something that supports the format. Perhaps the U3 would be a good purchase...Cheers,Jamesx
July 27, 200620 yr Author It is a removable drive but still the UMS drivers come with it. Know about 7z, here is how it looks. But the drivers ain't the issue, never needed to install the drivers before. Normally U2 is detected automatically but why not on this custom WinXP, I have no clue.---I think you should buy U3 if you need lossless (FLAC) support and high output. Good for headphones, for ex Philips SHP895.I myself have Philips SHP895 but use it mostly on PC. Buy U2 if you use earphones, has also OGG support.Before my U2 I had another U2 which stop workin for me. But thats because I "abused" it, traveled and moved around to much at that time.Had it for 1 week in -35 C in the woods and I had it about +2 years.Really good player! btw, do not use OGG in high bitrate (if you do), for high bitrate mp3 is better.Latest lame encoder:LAME 3.97 beta 2http://www.rarewares.org/mp3.html Edited July 27, 200620 yr by hulkviper
