  1. Hi, I wanted to donate, I had chosen all settings and went to Paypal website when prompted. Paypal's site was in Danish which I understand, but seems strange when jumping from english site). I pressed 'Log på' and got redirected to non-existing website (see screenshot). TLS's 'lock' seemed to be OK according to my humble knowledge, uBlock origin was disabled for that case. Alternatively, there was an option to pay with credit/debet card on Paypal's site, but under such circumstances I'd like to wait with payment until the issue gets explained.
  2. I bet nuts against matches that we'll sooner see the release of Hurd kernel than complete ReactOS :>
  3. Noone wanted. Board is less ephemeral than IRC.
  4. Yep, I'm also thinking about some kind of system hardening for Office 2007.
  5. Simplyfying, ME was a DOS- based beast without an easily-accesible DOS underneath, and no changes and improvements NT-based systems provided. Generally, Judging the system by the few moments with VM is not applicable, you have no way to get the experience and problems people had with it those days.
  6. Sorry, but the country in which you are looking for the job might be a problem. Help desk is being commonly outsourced to cheaper countries. India has a reputation as a most common destination for such outsourcing, but here, in Poland, it's also easy to find such job. For much less money, of course. But hey, if you can speak English well, they wont even require you to know polish, probably. Not to mention, that for some companies, that were founded with ethic on their banners, even here it is too expensive. https://protonmail.com/careers#technical-support-specialist
  7. Also, still have 56K/48K somewhere in a box. However, it was rarely used due to costs. 5 years later, after the purchase, ADSL became popular, just within a day or so...
  8. Approximately day or two of reading. Then re-read it, because what you'd understood you've already forgotten, and you hadn't got it all during the first read. Different option then dencorso's way is to Turn on update search and leave PC waiting during the weekend to let Windows Update find the updates. If you don't want to Wait ~24 hours for the PC to find the freakin' updates, you need at least Office and Compatibility Pack updates downloaded manually and installed. Then other updates (IE8, Windows) are going smoothly within less then hour. Sorry, Windows XP is off the way and MS is not about to fix it.
  9. 7 Office 2007 Home and Student updates installed manually - I didn't bother checking precisely which ones are for me, just downloaded the ones that looked like so and ommitted obvious mishits (e.g. Outlook 2007 I do not own). KB4011062 for Excel 2007 Download Page KB3213644 Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 3 Download Page KB4011064 Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 3 Download Page KB3213646 for Microsoft Office 2007 Download Page KB3213641 for Microsoft Office 2007 Download Page KB3213649 for Microsoft Office 2007 Download Page KB4011063 for Microsoft Office 2007 Download Page After that I run Microsoft update and two patches, for IE 8 and system showed up. Everything installed, PC rebooted and didn't crash :>
  10. On Windows 10 mobile, for example, you cannot play Flash games from within the browser, however, you can download many of them from the store - which means getting some web wrapper and playing them from within the app. Dunno how this works. Besides, I'm observing some things retro gaming/ emulation scene, and I have no doubt that someone is working to preserve flash games. Many of them were single player, so you can run them from local drives, so for this keeping older browser for this purpose +some internet archive would be enough.
  11. First, we're going off-topic. If we wanted to go GNU/Linux, we know how, don't worry. Second, AntiX Linux is NOT Linux Mint.
  12. Train station in Łódź, Poland. sent by a friend.
  13. Uh, more like a week and a half :> Unless board, after updates, pops up his edit as a totally new post. I only see 3.09.2017 on my machine...
  14. @Roffen - Check on the internet if your Motehrboard's built-in audio card has drivers for XP. If the MoBo model is new, it's rather unlikely. And, my personal humble request - start new topic for requests like this one, and keep this topic related to POSReady update issues :>
  15. jaclaz - thanks for linking the topic. As far as I get it, there will be no noticeable advantage of ReFS over NTFS for average PC user... or even wanna-be-geeky user, who doesn't plan to store Terabytes of data?
  16. Depends on national law. Here in Poland it is 100% legal, you are the same able and allowed to copy YT playback as you were able to record something from radio/TV into Mc/VCR. If the content was posted by someone who's not allowed to distribute it... well, law enforcement is upon him, not you. Not to mention that 90% of music on YT was posted without any respect to copyright. It's fun to see upon what corporations are building their empires... :> And, actually, such services are rather common. Can't name any of them cause I didn't pay attention when I stumbled upon them, but they exist.
  17. Not to dig deep into the details, but in general I appreciate the idea. MSFN is one of the best places for the maniacs of old Windows software and systems, and up to my humble opinion, such section might gather an interest of some new maniacs :>
  18. Because PC knows that this is the highest supported by the display. Well, depending on the standard that is implemented in your hardware, your split VGA might or might not be able to support two screens at that resolution - won't be able to send 2560x2048 pixels sixty times per second. I'm to little experienced to find out whether your card will do. At worst you will not get the output required. If none of the previous will work, you might. But prepare for a bit of web searching. It's possible to get a nice card from dismembered business PC at a bargain price. But first, uh, experiment.
  19. Depending on what is the maximum resolution your built-in can provide, and what is these monitors resolution. Take a try, they should not burn, at worst screens won't display properly. Check if here are Windows 10 drivers for this Radeon. I doubt, but there might be. You might also play around with different drivers for win 7/8/8.1 or some generic from AMD. Make a system restore or full disc backup before playing with these. That might not be the best solution, but that's what I would do. This card should work with windows 7, it's not new enough to be incompatible.
  20. You meant 'has no dedicated graphics card', or 'has integrated graphics card' :> Tech specs are saying this computer has two Display Port sockets and a VGA. So, actually, you should... :> Depending on your monitors and the inputs they have. This 'bitage', that is commonly used while describing OSes and processors, cannot be referred to graphic cards 1:1 when building a PC from parts. Not to mention that this '32' or '64' bits in modern CPU's does not describe every part of this device, and, as far as I remember, nowadays it refers to the size of address bus. Which not always has been like this, since good old 8-bit NES had 16-bit address bus :>
  21. Yep. And unless it's some big infographic, it can look 'well enough' resolution even with high compression. And if it's an infographic... why don't use vector format instead? :>
  22. Adblock and ublock allow to whitelist everything for MSFN and add custom rule for green banner :>
  23. For me, text is at least 'legible' but font selection at the top bar on the new board is horrible. The text is much smaller that it was, and it appears to be badly blurred. It seems to be ok when I zoom in my browser, so I guess enlarging the font by 2 or 4px would do a difference. Windows 7 and newest Firefox here.
