  1. Well, if you ask me to launch a nice topic about the good things in life, here is one... It's true, that we live in dark times for humanity as a whole, but then to detoxify from all this - we'll talk only about good things in life, if you want... All subjects are welcome here, as long as they will talk about pretty and nice side of life... about hope for better times, about interesting things for people eager to learn, with beautiful photos and videos, with mood and smiles.... in freedom. So be warned that ugliness and sadness has no place here. Your preferences will be mine. First of all I would like to ask you to suggest me the pretty title of this topic... Does "Pretty Detox Posts" sound good to you?...Whoever has a better idea, please present it here, pretty please. THANK YOU! I would like to start, to make it easier for me (it's already late here...), with a nice link to bored panda website - today with the theme "50 People Having A Pretty Miserable Day (New Pics)" - 50 People Having A Pretty Miserable Day (New Pics): https://www.boredpanda.com/bad-day-accidents-fails/ - my favorite is this one: #4 For A Month, I Thought I Lost My Wedding Ring On A Cross Country Road Trip. 11. @Dave-H, welcome to the 360 browser club ! Warmest greetings ! I really think you need to write to Dixel since he made huge advancements in his version . And I mean really huge . NotHereToPlayGames is a nice fellow , don't get me wrong guys ! I'm very grateful for his 13.5 version , I just don't really like the soft-settings approach . I prefer hard-coded , like in the Dixel's. I'm still between the two versions , moving towards the Dixel's though. Why ? There I can choose all settings within his own interface . Yes , he made an interface . Not to mention hard-coded search providers and other sweet stuff . One can choose any UA agent , privacy settings , etc. There's no such thing here , sadly . I still hope NotHereToPlayGames will create it though .

  12. My point of view is, that the native population lacks solidarity, the thought is totally destroyed by the propaganda of mass media, moreover the vote does not give anything cause it is rigged everywhere in the world, on all the levels... Then it remains in these circumstances to take care of the relatives, to enjoy the beautiful sun... It's true that I don't have much hope for a quick improvement in the situation, but who knows...life can cause surprises.... PS. 13. There shouldn't be any SSE or even IA32 builds for Win64 as all x64 CPUs since the first Athlon 64 support SSE2 or even higher. Remind: SSE2 support by Intel AND AMD CPUs is available since 2003, all x86_64 CPUs have it! kind regards soggi

  14. They're all at default. Let me know if any relevant pref is missing from those screens. It's something to do with my config or addons. Need to investigate when the time permits. Edit: found the culprit, a left-over from the time when I had dom.serviceworkers.enabled. There was serviceworker.txt file with the following content in the profile folder: 4 https://msfn.org/board/ https://msfn.org/board/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=serviceworker&v=2a962fc5181638719336&type=front {dbf85245-ef53-4136-ba23-fca6bf5b581b} # Deleted it and now navigation on MSFN works correctly.

  15. Thanks. I have actually become accustomed to using my iPhone for virtually everything now - in fact I don’t think I have posted here using any other method since early 2020. But I do love history, and Vista is definitely history.

  16. Small (but substantial) nitpick, the issue is not with "formatting", it is with "partitioning" (using the XP built-in disk manager, the diskpart should be able to create the needed alignment even on XP). See: https://sites.google.com/site/robertjkarp/home/windows/diskpart-to-create-aligned-volume To clear the essential separation of the two steps (partitioning+formatting), you can create the partition(s) on Vista+ and then format (please read as "apply a file sytem") under XP . jaclaz

  17. Yes it should, because NCQ can work then and performance in 4K Command Queuing will be possible. It is easy to measure with program AS SSD Benchmark which is freeware. Just measure before and after drivers are installed and make screenshots of both before and after and upoad it here. If you formatted your SSD under win XP it is not 4K formatted. It shows in AS SSD Benchmark too as green OK symbol if 4K alignment is correct. To achieve 4K alignment you need to format drive in win7 or later. Under windows XP you can use MiniTool Partition Wizard - which is great software. Talk to me in Personal Message if you wanna know where to get old good version for XP that i used, cause i am not sure if recent version works with XP. By the way, try to launch latest free version to check if it still work with XP. The other problem is that XP do not have TRIM command, so your SSD experience great Write amplification To avoid that under XP there is program LC Technology Solid State Doctor v3.0.3.2. It have function auto-trim and manual trim of all empty space on SSD which is great because it stops Write amplification. If you want i can show you in PM where to get version 3.0.3.2 because it is not present on official site anymore.

  20. While I respect it , legal way is a bit tricky , because the original Gold Edition was using the CD checks without serials (securom scanned the CD). Later , when Vista came out , the devs released a special patch to remove the outdated protection to make it compatible with Vista . And guess what ? The CD check was removed , but you still need the original serials (not from the Gold edition , but from the addon and the main game too), this is not supported by the Gold verson at all , it was a well-known problem (bug) during that days . So you need to : 1 - find The Order of Dawn on CD and keep it's serial! I saw them for 4-5 bucks not long ago. Install. 2 - find The Breath Of Winter . Keep the SERIAL number. Install over the main game. 3 - Then download this patch 1.38 and install it . https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=5878 4 - Then download this Gold edition patch with the removed checks , https://www.patches-scrolls.com/dl.php?file=spellforce_pol138.zip 5 - Do NOT install ! Open the zip folder and you wil see "SpellForce-POL-1.38.exe" extract this 42mb executable with 7zip . You will see setup files . Now extract with Universal Extractor , starting with data1.hdr. Now you will see "data1" folder with 8 folders inside. You need to open {MAIN POL} , and here is your main spellforce, exe file ! Replace yours with it ! That's it , enjoy the game ! Of course, it will ask you to enter/confirm your legal serials (both) , because it's not a crack. P.S. Why Polish ? Simply because others are already deleted , so many years passed (15 , at least) ... But the game will still remain in English , if you do exactly as I say.

  24. Sometime in the future I'd like to build a new PC and install Vista on it. My current PC cannot run Vista at all (Haswell i5), so that's out of the question. However now that Vista is completely deprecated, most modern software and games require at least Windows 7, and Intel and AMD have stopped producing chipset drivers for Vista, is it even worth it? Vista is definitely my favorite Windows OS. Windows 7 is whatever but Windows 8.1 and 10 are complete trash and I never want to be bothered with them. Linux and other Unix-likes are also really unattractive. Are there any modern chipsets that support Vista 64 bit with USB 3.x drivers?

  25. For anyone still struggling to bite the bullet by installing a replacement to MSE (so far I'm finding them all downright scary if not outright destructive and it is just reminding me why I switched to MSE in the first place) these MSE registry changes seem to do two things. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Signature Updates] "ASSignatureDue"=dword:0000016d "AVSignatureDue"=dword:0000016d ...where 16d = 365 days They stop the 2001 Event ID errors for Microsoft Antimalware, plus - and this did surprise me - my MSE has turned from orange back to green. This is deceptively comforting as it is obviously purely cosmetic. Even so MSE is not entirely useless as it is still doing its job even as the signature files become increasingly out of date. I'm guessing this gives 365 days before MSE thinks the 1.293.2807.0 definitions are too old. I'm also guessing the value could be increased even further. Ben.

  26. I happen to be that friend that likes Vista, JFYI, lol. On the Intel side of things, Ivy Bridge is the last platform from Intel to properly support Windows Vista. Haswell and later have a weird bug with Vista that causes it to not boot up half the time, rendering it unusable on the platform(s) if you ask me. While Ryzen might work, I wouldn't get my hopes up. If you're really keen on using Windows Vista today, I say you should go for a high end processor from the Ivy Bridge lineup. I personally have the Core i7 3770, and it runs like a charm with Windows Vista Ultimate. Even if the platform is a few years old, it still provides excellent and efficient performance that can suit almost anyone (I run virtual machines and play a few Dolphin games, and I have no issue doing these tasks - even simultaneously). And if you haven't already, make sure to check out my Last versions of software for Windows Vista/2008 list. There, you'll find a large library of information regarding the current state of third party support for Windows Vista. It's really not as bad as it may seem. The best all around web browser for Vista is probably Pale Moon (based on Firefox, but not the same thing), as it's the only known one that still gets major version updates on Vista, with no end of support in sight. Good luck, and welcome to MSFN!

  27. I'm looking at getting my Ryzen system working with Vista. Getting the USB 3.x drivers in is probably gonna be the biggest hurdle. It runs 7 like a charm, but for a friend of mine who likes Vista, I'm looking to test Vista on it too. AMD uses ASMedia for a lot of their chipset, and ASMedia is known to support Vista to an extent, so we could get lucky.
