The current YT GUI is a PITA  to load and operate here in this 2008 Vista SP2 32-bit laptop (Core2Duo+iGPU+RAM=3GB) but, out of (perverse  ) curiosity, I wanted to test this ; I used NHTPG's playlist posted previously in this thread:

The loop and shuffle playback buttons are behind a playlist "header", so not immediately visible; you seem to be able to select a "once more" playback of chosen playlist:

In either case, when you reach the end of the playlist (NB: Autoplay must be enabled),

you are presented with a (misleading) in-player dialogue pertaining to a YT suggested clip (not contained in the original playlist),

but if you leave it be, the page auto-reloads and playback begins anew with the first item (index) of the list...

Is it regional thing? Frequency of use? I don't do much YT as far as new content discovery goes.

BTW, I fixed includes/excludes in the script posted before so its behavior is in line with extension they posted on Discord.

Interesting!  But for me, that last clip isn't a suggested clip but rather it is part of the playlist.

So I suspect your suggested list just repeated an item already in the playlist.

But yes, auto-play does "initiate" to play the next SUGGESTION, but the loop button kicks in and reverts to "track 1" instead.

However, in my test-case, it didn't "initiate" to play the "very next" SUGGESTION, but it started to play Suggestion #3 but the loop-to-track-1 does work.

@roytam1 Do you have any information about changes in terms of the session (re)store function in New Moon 28 made in the recent past?  Two old but well-known extensions do not work any longer in New Moon 28. The extensions Tab Utilities 2.12 and Speed Dial 0.9.6.18 interfere with NM's session restore which unfortunately makes them unusable. And even the Session Manager 0.8.1.14 extension does not work as before. It has now to be configured in another way to make it work again in recent browser releases. BTW, I already mentioned a session restore issue here:

I can't as I didn't change anything that is browser session related.

I wonder if extensions giving out any error messages?

First of all, the extensions don't show any error message pop-ups. However, I didn't check the console. Next time, I will reinstall Speed Dial and check the console messages.

Regarding Speed Dial I found a ReferenceError in the Browser Console:

ReferenceError: nsIWebNavigation is not defined[Learn More]  speeddialOverlay.js%20line%201595%20%3E%20eval:42:13

This error message is generated every time I close a tab. And here is a screenshot taken from NM's Browser Console:



And I got this message after resetting Speed Dial and browser restart:

So, the culprit seems to be the JavaScript file speeddialOverlay.js. The main problem with Speed Dial is that when tabs are closed, they are there again after a restart. The current browser session is therefore not restored as it has always been. Same applies to the extension Tab Utilities 2.1.2.

I'd call it underwhelming. Though it's near useless to navigate on my POS Lenovo laptop with 1,35 GHz APU in Pale Moon. With older Edge it's manageable, interface is still a bit slow, but other than that, 1080p 60 FPS streams are smooth, at least with H.264 codec that can be decoded on GPU. That chip is too old to have support for any newer codecs.

VORAPIS seems to not stream bad VP9 bytechunks like the original YouTube does. But its HTML5 player is also inconsistent in what is displayed in Stats for nerds, unless it's made like that only because Chromium can only show one set of stats while Firefox can only show the other (just an assumption).

YouTube is not quite "crap" as long as they allow to download normal h.264 videos that I can watch in peace.

I got a weird issue. A blue screen of death happened about a terminated system process while I was browsing YouTube. I restarted the computer and got it again on that page where I wanted to comment.

I know what you're thinking. Throw the old computer out. An application cannot cause a blue screen of death. Windows 2008 is old shite.

What I observed was that the disk was heavily thrashed while I was on that page. Then the system froze. I tried to call up the task manager, but got a cryptic error about system files required for the Ctrl-Alt-Del screen being corrupted. And then the blue screen. The OS is on another disk, which is silent. The system works again after I wiped the temp drive where the browser files were. No errors were reported during formatting. At the time, the cache directory contained over 19,000 files all in the same directory, which is crazy. I wonder if some limit was reached.

I have had this blue screen once before, and couldn't pinpoint a reason.

In chrome derivatives that is true. Every other month or so, adds make their way back in. It happened today to me. [EDIT] Updating to the latest Ublock Origin build for Chrome (plus the settings below)  solved my issues. I had forgotten to update it for too long a while.

In serpeny52 (or mypal) it has been the odd add that slips in, and I mean for a couple of years, all with ublock filters mostly taken from the site suggested a while ago by @Sampei.Nihira:

It's not crap at all with h264ify. Windows is usually crap (but with potential). Now I'm interested what was written in that blue screen (you probably have auto-restart @bluescreen ON)?
