I can confirm that changing the code described in the commit https://github.com/roytam1/UXP/commit/d80d4ba6ed4ef99132967d5a76b2090ee86c079b definitely solves the issue. Thanks for the quick fix!

AstroSkipper Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) For all users of Language Packs in New Moon 28! Due to some new entities, the tab Advanced in the Preferences window is broken in your used language. I mean this one: Here is a screenshot of the breakage in my last German Language Pack 28.10.0_RC6: I have already fixed it. Only a few entities have to be added and translated. Here is a screenshot of the fixed version: I will release the new German Language Pack 28.10.0_RC7 soon in my thread "Extensions and custom buttons for UXP browsers - Corrections, modifications, adjustments, and special recommendations" when the testing phase is over. Mark-XP Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) Concernes MailNews: A month ago i received a mail (a) with important conent. Yesterdy i forworded that mail to another recipient. That recipient now responded to me - mail (b). This new mail (b) now was shown in mailnews only ,under' the first mail (a). But those two senders (of mail (a) and (b)) have nothing to do with each other, so i wondered how to dissolve that unmeant connection. I tried right-clicking on both mails and tried "Ignore Thread" and "Ignore Subthread". But nothing happend. After having restarted mailnews later i noticed that both mails now are away. Not in the trash but really away. Luckily both mails still reside on the server - (how) is it possiple to reload them? And for the future: is it possible to dissolve such unwanted threads safely? Edit: under Inbox -> right-click -> Properties there's a button "Repair Folder" which resolved the issue! But the question - is it possible to seperate mails from an unwanted ,thread' - remains: those two mails have nothing to do with each other... Edited October 5, 2024 by Mark-XP

I don't know because I would have to build up the Pale Moon installation over a very long time to get 19 thousand files or thereabouts. Maybe it is an issue with the OS, as BSODs are. Usually programs with many files are compartmentalized into their own archives. The worst game I've had was 8K files, and at some point I might have had 10K favicons in Opera. Those are badly behaved programs in my book. I seem to recall that the cache of Firefox used to be split into subfolders. I also used this temp drive to extract many files for another project, which were deleted, but probably left some fragmentation behind as the other person guessed. I see how nice it is to have a temp drive separate and easy to clean out. It is 10G and holds all kinds of caches.

I'm thinking there must be a solution since the dialog comes up correctly when accessing Outlook on Serpent. The last time I logged into my old Hotmail/Outlook account was in New Moon 28 via the web interface with normal password. No chance anymore to get access using Mailnews. I also tried the most recent version of DreamMail Pro which supports OAuth2. Unfortunately, I got the message from this client that a Hotmail/Outlook account can't be set up under Windows XP but Windows 10. From now on, I try to avoid Microsoft's Hotmail/Outlook service as it is simply crap. Especially the web interface is cumbersome, bloated, incredibly memory-hungry and slow. I hate it. Microsoft doesn't offer an app password anymore. You seem to have to access your account via a special app. That's why you need Windows 10. Maybe you can still access the Hotmail/Outlook account under Windows XP with OE Classic, but I haven't tested this anymore. I think I am done with this service on Windows XP. The junk will only run on my Android tablet. Edited October 5, 2024 by AstroSkipper Update of content
Mathwiz Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Sounds like @roytam1 has some ideas, but Mailnews just isn't quite there yet. I do the same thing as @AstroSkipper; just use the Web interface. Unlike @AstroSkipper I don't have a choice since it's my O365 work account, not a personal Hotmail one. BTW, I set my user agent for Office 365.com to Firefox 77; this gives me the older UI which I prefer. Unfortunately it also gives me an "update your browser" nag from time to time. Even the older UI is quite machine-hungry, though. A FF 78 UA eliminates the nag but brings up M$'s newer UI, so next time I get the nag, I'll see if I can just block it with uBO. 1 hour ago, AstroSkipper said: Maybe you can still access the Hotmail/Outlook account under Windows XP with OE Classic, but I haven't tested this anymore. <off topic>OE Classic will probably work since I think the login procedure is the same for Hotmail as O365, and it works for O365. I lost access to OE Classic when my old Win 7 work PC's hard drive crashed, and since I was unhappy with OE Classic for reasons I've given elsewhere, I never bothered to try to recover the license.

Please reload the page and retry. I cleared my cache and updated to latest version to no result. Interestingly Serpent52 CAN login to xvideos.com account with no problem. Any ideas? Excuse me, but can somebody help me with my problem. On my post on previous page nobody answered. 1

I lost access to OE Classic when my old Win 7 work PC's hard drive crashed, and since I was unhappy with OE Classic for reasons I've given elsewhere, I never bothered to try to recover the license. Actually for testing purpose, I installed OE Classic and set up my Outlook account. All in all, it was quite simple if you know what to do exactly. However, New Moon 28 has problems with the Microsoft Login tab which was called up by OE Classic and unfortunately empty. So, I first had to log into my Outlook account via the web interface in New Moon 28. On the second attempt, my account was offered to connect to OE Classic. Here is a screenshot: Now, ir simply works. OE Classic can be used for the basic Outlook email service under Windows XP.
