There appears to be no way of viewing this image in New Moon or any other modern browser.

https://i.redd.it/v1bl283zwn6e1.png

When I want to get it, to break it out of the frame by choosing View Image or pasting the URL into the address bar, I am redirected to reddit.com/media and view it inside a frame again. The problem is that the picture is really big and I need to zoom in to see anything, which the /media page doesn't allow. In New Moon it only gets as big as the screen. It seems to have a similar "scripting redirect hook" as Rate Your Music covers artwork to prevent the image freom being gotten. It also cannot be saved from the Media dialog.

Right mouse click on image ---> "View Image Info" ---> click on "Media" ---> Search your image among type "Image" ---> Here it is 11MB PNG  3 944px × 2 388px (scaled to 1 212px × 734px) --->Click on "Save As" and as French people say - Voilà !

... Another shortcoming of the UXP platform, it appears... FWIW, in KafanMiniBrowser, which is no longer considered a "modern browser" by any stretch of the imagination :P, I have no issues zooming in/out the giant image (3944x2388, 11.5 MiB)

The original (lossless) image can be easily saved via context menu entry (Save image as) ...

There is some kind of glitchy memory effect with this site. Sometimes it allows me to get to the image in New Moon. Like right now after some time has passed and the browser had been closed. But before it didn't and persistently put me on the /media link. On the browser's Media tab it showed that the image was 0 px, and on saving it downloaded another file from the server instead of saving what he should have had in memory.

I solved this problem by copying the link and pasting into Opera (which wasn't used to read the linked thread).

To clarify, the blame is mostly on the website who instructs the browser and it blindly obeys. They don't want to waste 12 MB of traffic because some entusiast decided to upload an oversized photo. I think there should be tools in the browser to pick out content that is restricted.

Is @roytam1 on vacation? He certainly deserves one, so I have no problem if he is.

I never thought we really needed weekly browser updates - or even monthly, unless some significant new feature is added or security flaw is fixed. Personally, I'd be fine with quarterly updates!

But usually, each week there's either an update or a post telling us otherwise. And he's held to that pattern for so long, it stands out when the pattern breaks. So I was just a bit concerned.

still working with $DAYJOB, and for builds because there is lack of upstream changes.

BTW I do plan for an update to my legacy browsers addressing some NSS related bugfixes and cert updates, but no ETA at the moment.

So you'll merge my pull requests and do a build of retrozilla again?

So syncing mails for 30 days (IMAP) has a side effect that you can't search among the older mails. I went back to syncing whole mailbox, the local copy is still holding. I will make a habit of exiting via File->Exit. While I'm not sure if Interlink could have such a bug (losing all mails), I worked with one other program that didn't take closing via Alt+F4 well, it wouldn't close connection to the database then, you have to click Exit in the menu and then again Exit in login box.

Don't you always do browser builds every week every time there's a change to the source code? I'm only just ordering cause you always build every week.
