  1. Dear oh dear! I made quite a few mistakes in the past, but I'd rather keep them for myself... <blush>
  2. Hi guys! I'm in the process of changing my router and don't know whether to get a D-link or a Linksys. What would you recommend? Regards, nitro
  3. It all depends on the programs you are running...
  4. Although I voted yes, I don't think he has an account here. If he had, Vista installation disk would be a floppy...
  5. I do smoke. It's my choice and I smoke whenever I want, IT'S MY OFFICE!!!!
  6. As you can see in my sig, I'm running 2 x 512 Mb Kingmax @ 533 MHz oc'ed @ 667 MHz. Run quite well actually, thinking of getting rid of my mobo to be able to put another gig...
  7. no. spaghetti ain't pizza...
  8. Have you tried running water through a net? Of course it slows the traffic down but not significantly. As for using a software firewall in addition to the one built in the router I'd go for it (since that's what I'm using). But then again, it depends on how paranoid you are...
  9. I go here with ripken. run memtest and see if your ram is working properly. also, i know jetways are making (sometimes) crap mobo's...

  13. Interesting but build 5472 gave my system 3.4 as the lowest mark. Surprisingly it was the processor which is seen as running @ 1.5 GHz. Could that be because it's running in HT mode???
  14. The result of the poll says it all (wooo, poetry! )
  15. I'm using Nero 7 and the drive in my sig an it does burn DL DVD's. Just shove in the disk and start burning. Good luck!
  16. have you played with the multiplier or the fsb in BIOS? I have had the same situation some time ago with an Athlon 2200+, it only showed 900 Mhz. Remember: computers make fast, accurate mistakes...
  17. Actually I find this useful, have to get home and try it...
  18. I wouldn't do it, although I'm sure nothing wrong can happen.
  19. ...but I'd still go with NOD32.
  20. Nope. For that you will need MAC Address Changer. Shareware too.
  21. Any cheats available?
  22. Lens Cleaner cd's are ok... What I do though is a bit more tricky for begginers: I dismantle the drive and clean the lens using a cotton bud and technical spirit. I'd not recommend you to do that though... Try the Lens Cleaner cd.
  23. This is what you have to do (your server must be running at all times while doing this): 1. In the AD create the user logon name of the XP machine. 2. Set whatever policies you want in GPO. 3. Log into the XP machine as administrator (or another user with administrative rights). 4. Under My Computer ---> Properties ---> Computer Name ---> Change, set the domain you created in the server. 5. Restart the XP machine when prompted. 6. After reboot, when you are presented with the "Press Ctrl+Alt+Del" popup click on "options" and choose the domain to log onto, not the local machine and instead of administrator type the user name that you have set in the AD. This would be pretty much all you need to do. You may also need to make sure that the cables connecting the 2 pc's are ok and they are in the same IP class / subnet mask. Regards, nitro
