Norton Ghost rules! Install, update, tweak then image... Putting the image back takes only a few minutes vs. 1 hour + to format, install windows, programs, run updates, etc., etc... @Andromeda43 You`re ever so right!
Hehe, tell me about it! I was running a software firewall on my server at work (AD server, DNS server, DHCP server, File server, Print server), lots of things didn't work. Eventually managed to get a Pentium 2 pc and shoved it between the server and the DSL modem to act as a firewall. Took a bit of time to convince the boss though...
Thanks guys for your help. @rendrag The house I live in has got 3-feet thick walls made of solid stone ---> problems with the signal Unfortunately, I can't find Linksys anymore as the pc shop I have discount at ran out of them (I really think they only had 1 piece) so I'll be going for D-link. Will let you know how pleased I am with it tomorrow when I get the chance to go and get it. Once again, thanks guys.
Wouldn't that be against M$'s rules? And your post ain't it against this forum's rules? If what sandman112 was legal wouldn't media center components be available for download separately for installing on XP Pro? I think this post is heading towards (slight) piracy...
If it's a Gigabyte board then set the sata to enhanced and keep the raid option disabled. I too have a Gigabyte board (see my sig) and that's how i configured it and doesn't show as removable device. However, using a different chipset (nforce) it might be different.
I've seen that in the past, it's probably due to the way the chipset detects the sata drive. Don't think there's anything you can do about it unless you play with the sata options in the bios and see what happens. Good luck anyway.
I'm on my way to join you N1K... B) Anyway, back to the mistakes. I had a pc back for warranty and playing here and there I put the PSU switch from 220V to 115V. The moment I plugged the cable in the mains was the most expensive second of my entire life 550 euro's (~ 690 USD). Just imagine how many beers I could have bought for that money
Tell me about it! I was at a lan party last night and my car broke down so I had to leave behind my 21" CRT monitor and install at home a spare 17" CRT... Gosh, did my eyes hurt!!!!
