  1. get mobile phone tools if you haven't already received when you got your phone and connect your phone to a pc via a normal usb cable, then you can transfer any image from pc to your phone and select it as a screensaver. i've done this hundreds of times as i too have a motorola phone, though it's only a V180. cheers and good luck!
  2. ermmm... google?
  3. googling around, it seems that it does have a sound card, but being a second hand buy, it might be faulty. you can use a USB external sound card, of course. or get a pcmcia sound card (bit more expensive though).
  4. ebrahim, bashing at the other members here will only get you either banned or permanently ignored. please read the forum rules. thank you. also, treblA was only trying to help you, so please try at least to "look" grateful. -- reported -- PS ever since i joined this network, i tried to share my (limited) knowledge with other members here. though i had a few questions, i also offered a few answers. this is a network to SHARE our knowledge, not to pick others' knowledge in an egocentrical way. also, in my opinion, a simple "please" in the requests ALWAYS shows common sense and respect for the other members. a plain "i want" seems a bit patronising to me, don't you think ebrahim?
  5. make sure you haven't got the wake-up events enabled.
  6. some games will let you do that, whilst others need access to write in the install directory, that being on a dvd = pia. try though.
  7. it's called disk defragmentation. runs whenever system is idle for a certain amount of time.
  8. make sure you have partitioned and formatted your hard disk in ntfs. vista doesn't support fat32.
  9. using bitdefender 9 professional plus that has an integrated firewall. works great. however, the bitdefender 9 internet security won't run and give errors as it installs some drivers not supported in vista.
  10. in bios set your sata as ide.
  11. which reminds me of how romanian policemen are getting their underwear on: yellow goes to front, brown goes to back.
  12. use thunderbird.
  13. download a trial version of that software. you don't need a registered version since you only want it to uninstall the previous installation.
  14. get your hands on a copy of vista 5384 and install it.
  15. as far as i know (that doesn't necessarily mean i'm right thought) you can't. office uses the logon account names.
  16. if you could translate the error in english, please...
  17. i got the cooler stated in my last post and i must say it's up to the job. the cpu doesn't go over 45 degrees centigrade in full load. at idle, it stays @ 30.
  18. keep the power button pressed a little while longer. i came across a laptop that wouldn't power up elseway. hope this helps. if not, i'd say there is a fault in the power compartment of the laptop which needs you to go back for warranty.
  19. this is what i did: since i only have 1 ide drive (the dvd-writer) and the floppy drive i got rounded cables for them. then i used insulating tape to wrap all the power cables coming out of the power supply and those running to the fans. having done that, i tried to hide them as good as possible inside the case and clear as much space as possible. keep them together, don't leave them spread around inside the case! leave as much space as possible over the motherboard (run the cables around it). and before all that plan the routes of the cables. good luck. PS my 2 cents...
  20. the specs look good. i'd go with ripken and use drivers provided by the manufacturers of the chipsets / devices rather than those asus gave you on the cd.
  21. see my sig for the case. i'm happy with it (tla-475 is the model) as it comes with a 550 W power supply (quite silent too) and offers good air flow inside. then again, as rendrag says, it's up to you whether you want a sober case or a fancy one.
  22. sure there is! build another pc around it!
  23. back-up your data NOW and prepare to get a new drive.
