  1. You can get a dvd-rw drive fairly cheap these days, so I'd recommend you get one.
  2. Oh man! Poor guy! I loved his shows... RIP!
  3. ...and growing! That's the nicest
  4. With the config in my sig I get 3.1, my processor being the lowest. Why's that? 'cause it's running in hyperthreading? Vista says my processor is 1.5GHz!!!
  5. Agreed, but when you install windows on a pc you are supposed to have read the EULA and agreed to it. That means tacit agreement which M$ takes as signed agreement. Just a question: I live in Romania where the average salary / month is around 120 USD. How is supposed someone with that kind of salary buy a legit copy of Windows that sells for around 150 USD??? I really think that M$ should drop their prices. THAT is the way to fight piracy, not enforcing that WGA cr/-\p... You hear, M$? DROP THE PRICE!!! PS. That doesn't mean that I haven't got my copies of windows bought with a licence...
  6. Ummm... I found a way to install it without the check. If it ain't against the rules, please mods let me know and I'll share how to do it. nitro
  7. <Off topic> Zxian, welcome to the alien breed
  8. Go here, download the archive, extract it and run the executable. When Windows prompts you about unknown files click "Cancel" every time (I only think you have that pop-up once or twice). When finished, reboot and you're done. Good luck and cheers from Romania
  9. Nice, but looks like advertising... One more thought: instead of making 3 threads, why didn't you merge them all in one?
  10. Have you patched the uxtheme.dll?
  11. Restart your pc, enter the BIOS then under CPU configuration set Hyperthreading to "Disable". Save the settings and reboot. Hyperthreading is now off. I'm not sure, but I think Windows will disagree with the new configuration and give you a BSOD (blue screen of death). Try it anyhow. Good luck! As for extraction, desktop will do just fine.
  12. Remove the modem. Sometimes modems can be a PITA, I know that for a fact from various XP installs.
  13. I have been using wmp11 for quite a while now (ever since it came out) and never had any problems with it, so I'd say too it's a Vista problem.
  14. On the same note: life is like a hair in your a$$, short and full of sh*t...
  15. I knew nuhi was a magician, but didn't know he managed to strip down windows xp with an 8 Kb piece of software
  16. Scan for viruses / spyware / malware! This is the first step to troubleshooting.

    Howdy

Howdy to you too Welcome, read the rules, enjoy your stay
  18. I assume you already have another domain controller in-place. If so, you can safely delete the old one in the AD.
  19. Have you added the new computers in the AD? Are they in the same IP range and have the same subnet mask?
  20. Ummmm.... Disable the USB ports and use PS/2 mice
  21. Use Agnitum Outpost Firewall...
  22. Downloading Vista has NOTHING to do with running it. You can download it on a Pentium 1 rig should you have enough bandwidth / time to spend online.
  23. Nice, can you share them?
  24. Hahahaha
