  1. SPTI... And MS doesn't care if you use XP anymore. The KB article redirects to Win7. http://web.archive.org/web/20150602144308/https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/306524 Also - Care to burn an ISO in XP? Here ya go! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_Recorder_Power_Toy

  3. Maybe the OP wants less features?
  4. 1 - Find out type of Installer 2 - Get Silent Switches Seriously, we aren't going to downlad all that stuff to figure it out for you. (Especially if they are Illegal Downloads.) For Office10 they're probably a set of MSI packages installed via a SETUP.EXE using a Control Information File. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/17940-universal-silent-switch-finder-01/
  5. @Trip... http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/174675-corrupted-rar-file-how-to-use-anyway/
  6. Single RAR or multi-part? Best option is to obtain it again. That is if it's not your own (and we'll speak of that no more.)
  7. ? Explain, please.
  8. ? You must be talking about a Stick or Card, amirite?
  9. ??? This doesn't *download* anything! It Integrates WMP11 into a Source Install (found on an XP Installation CD) just like (e.g.) nLite integrates Service Packs and Fixes into it. Note that it doesn't (AFAIK) integrate WMP11 Fixes into it. Here's a small reference to help clarify. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/85799-new-utility-windows-media-player-11-integrator/
  10. "Are old people really obsolete?" No. They still function quite well, thank you. And, yes, some of us take certain medicines to prevent "viruses" and keep certain protections to prevent "trojans". Currently, the XP Updates (medicine/protections) have been archived across the WWW, intact, taken directly from MS. If you wish to have them all (just in case you need them, like "medicine"), ask and we'll give a link to a Downloader that will get them for you (your very own copy).
  11. "XP Pro SP3 2003"???? Uhhh, no such beast. You actually mean - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP_editions#Releases ...Freestyle (the first release - to OEM's) You'll have a fun time finding CD#2 then. To my knowledge Freestyle (has SP1) -XRMPFPP_EN - MCE2002 CD#1 XRMSD2_EN - MCE2002 CD#2 I have *some* of the CD's (including a Dell Restore) but 1 - You're being unclear of exactly *which* MCE version you have and 2 - You haven't said what your CD#1 Label is (see labels I gave above) and 3 - Nobody her van give you a copy of CD#2 or a link to one even if we knew which one and 4 - What do you mean by "workaround"? Media Center is a kind of "add-on" having nothing to do with the "base" XP Pro. Indeed, "Freestyle" CD#1 is *exacly* the same as XP Pro CD (note the CD label / Volume Name). If you could tell us *what* problem you're having then *maybe* someone here could help?
  12. DRAGON NATURALLY SPEAKING!!!!! Here is the LINK to said Video, in which he *specifically* states this. He *also* states he used some "macros" that -HE- is working on (home-rolled BY HIM!) Part 1 - Part 2 - HERE is ANOTHER one (by another person) using... DRAGON!!!! I already *said* "Dragon", now didn't I? http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/174631-is-there-a-speech-dictator-programning-by-voice/#entry1110042 NUFF SAID! Next time, don't YELLLLL IN COLOR!!!!!!! You have your answer. Go $$$ "Dragon" and write your own Macros. Thank you.
  13. MS says (re:Windows10) "Sorry, not sorry. All your PC's *must* belong to us. But we got busted. " Aaand now I have to revisit the "blocked" list I collected on 10/2/2015. In response to jaclaz' comment here - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/173752-how-to-avoid-being-upgraded-to-win-10-against-your-will/#entry1104674 It was grand when IBM sent you Update Tapes for their Mainframe OS' with all the associated documentation and let *you* decide. Businesses would have dumped them ASAP if they were forced to upgrade (automatically) thus breaking (e.g.) the JES (Job Entry Subsystem), bringing them to their knees. Lawsuits galore. (Remember that MS "kind of" absconded with DOS.) Guess I should mention that my Bro "helps" with problems at a place he sometimes works at (he learned from me/us) and some of the gals there had asked "Should I click on this pop-up?" - Response - "NONONONONO! It'll install Windows10!" Apple - OSX / MS - WindowsX and yep, going the way of Apple... I think I'll switch to Linux.
  14. No, you are not. It appears as if ULZ files are in dire need of updating. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/139877-post-sp1-updates-for-windows-7-updated-25032015/#entry1109454 See above for fulfllling your needs using WUD. HTH
  15. FYI (re: the ZIP file). An apparent IPB bug (or something) gorked the attachments. It's now been fixed.
  16. Windows7 does indeed have Network Neighborhood. BTW, use "Public" as the Connection Type (not "Home"/Work") or it definitely will cause you fits. Sorry to say, I have as yet to do full testing between 9x/XP/Seven but I just stated holds true for XP<->7. (I love Servers, because they just "work".)
  17. FYI - All well and good (the "fix" link) but I'm dealing wih a PC (temporarily side-tracked so will be getting back to it soon) that the owner thought they were "fixing" it and (crap!) they installed stuff while in the "<usename>.<computername>" account and worse, they wound up inadvertantly creating "<username>.<computername>.<nnn>" (nnn being a number) for each time they flubbed up, in addition to several variations of similar "temp" accounts. IOW, I have to "recreate" the Hives. They even stomped on the SystemProfile folder trying to fix it. Lots of corrupted "config" Registry stuff. I actually had to dump the Software and System Hives (to 9x REG files) and manually merge the uncorrupted stuff (i.e. manually deleted the bad/unreadable/corrupted) into a "clean" one (created in a VM) to repair it. What I'm saying is, you got lucky they brought it to you right away rather than depending on Teh DubyaDubyaDubya for the fix. Too many bad solutions out there. MSFN is *the* place to go for the correct ones. (sheesh! the geniuses on the internet!)
  18. I don't own a license for Dragon so I have no clue. And AFAIK, nobody here uses "Speech To Text" software. If anyone else *does* and chimes in, fine. In the meanwhile, do the GOOGLE I gave and investigate for yourself. After all, the GOOGLE I gave provides the Windows 7 "How To" so why don't you try it and see if it suits your purpose? Indeed, I seroosly doubt *any* Speech-To-Text software will "translate" into a Programming Language, since they use many non-"speaking" symbols embedded into... CODE!!! Basically, what I'm saying is that what *you* want is "Speech-To-ProgramCode" which (AFAIK) does *not* exist. Sorry.
  19. FYI - was getting "Server Busy" here - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/dictate-text-speech-recognition#1TC=windows-7 ...and now it's OK. Maybe this Win8 Updates and the Win10 Rollout is making stuff hickup? (no more Patch Tuesday.)
  20. One="Text To Speech" <-Available from MS for a while now (fixed voices) Two="Speech To Text" <-Available from MS with Windows7 (you supply the voice) Both are available for Professional usage for $ form (e.g.) "Dragon Naturally Speaking". Just google the above (with quotes). For the second Or either one), just add "Microsoft" as a separate search term.
  21. FYI, folks, Steven is no longer working this. Look here for latest/greatest. You'll have to be a member over there, of course. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/139877-post-sp1-updates-for-windows-7-updated-25032015/#entry1100970 WindowsUpdatesDownloader (also) stops at March for Win7, so it'll be outdated (same as the Post#1 "missing" attachments). And the attachments are History, so quit trying to download! Either go for WUD ULZ (from that website) or get signed up at the "other" forum. HTH @AnyMod - maybe this should be locked down AFTER Post #1 has been updated to reflect the current condition of this project and any pertinent info?
  22. Hmmm... I've been led to believe that you can get the Win10 ISO direct from MS, burn to DVD (thus saving precious disk space), use the "generic" key for an Upgrade (not via Boot, but within Windows) thus informing MS that you done the deed (locking your PC to the Win10 Install), wipe your HDD, boot the Win10 DVD, and do a "clean" install. In your case, something must have flubbed during the on-HDD Install Package? Ennyhoo, the above procedure is what I intend to do with my so-far-little-used Dell Win7 Pro. Side note: Be sure to get the right Win10 for your Upgrade. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO Hmmm - read this. http://www.msfn.org/2015/07/30/how-to-do-a-clean-install-of-windows-10-from-windows-7-and-8/ ...and this - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/174155-windows-10-upgrade-ripp-off/ ...and this - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/174164-free-upgrade-to-windows-10-and-downgrade-to-windows-81/ Google "windows 10" key site:msfn.orgFINALLY... This will clarify the confusion ("How It Works") -and- gives the "generic" keys. http://www.redmondpie.com/windows-10-product-key-and-activation-how-to-find-it-and-how-it-works/ HTH (somewhat)
  23. Shrink your AVI. It truncates l/r/t/b. See our Help section for size limitations to readjust (maybe with Paint or whatever) to be the exact size. (But I don't see that there?) http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=core&module=help Mine appears to by 100x100 Pixels. What does the DTW stand for Damon The Worker? Also, please don't forget to abide by The Rules! And again, Welcome! http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules
  24. Hmmm... I wonder if this is why my Bro is running out of space on his computer? Guess I'd better get the list to him and have him check his HDD and ask "Do you *really* want this stuff? Better be prepared to do that Dell Restore again..."
  25. Nice! But why did you steal my AVI? Seriously, I got that and REMOVED the meme text attached to it via a Photo Editor. I suppose you did the same thing? If not, that's really bad form and I request that you change it. Or I could, but I've used it for a loooong time now. Other than that, welcome.
