My Browser Builds (Part 4)
Cocodile replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Because it doesn't need to, I think you all confuse VP9 and AV1 with HEVC, they are not HEVC or H265. A good example would be YT, that serves VP9 and AV1, some vids are still H264. -

Did you try to open the browser console to see what happens? -
I just got back from Mykonos. This summer I've rested for too long, I'm tired of resting! I made a terrible mistake, it was too hot there! Not sure I'll ever go there again, not my climate. Though I met some interesting people there, with whom we are going to stay in touch and help with our careers.

Not sure we'll know in the nearest future, do we even have Raptor Lake users here?

Twitter silently removes login requirement for viewing tweets? A coincidence? A drop in the usage? People flee to Mastodon? Press them harder? https://techcrunch.com/2023/07/05/twitter-silently-removes-login-requirement-for-viewing-tweets/

Yes, Windows 7 is very slow on boot/shut, we know. But overall, the PC feels faster (apart from the boot and shutdown) than with Win7?

Agree! Starting the petition would make sense then. For that, you would still need @jaclaz's blessings though. -
Injustice 2 runs on the old Mortal Kombat X engine (which supports Vista!) Unreal Engine 3, with the mobile version running on Unreal Engine 4.

@j7n, I'm sorry to inform, what you say won't pass the @jaclaz's certification, since he will obviously doubt that you had enough data points, unless you actually deal (and has dealt for years) with many, many (hundreds, thousands) hard disks, while actually keeping a log of periodical reads, failure modes, etc. -
Update: twitter has reopened no-login access to direct posts. Still no account visiting.

You didn't tell us, do you run Vista with, or without @win32kernel? I read a report of someone having no sound too, in some latest kernel, I myself never had such troubles with his kernel.

Is it only one game without sound? Did you try to change sampling rates to 48Khz?

2.5 inch IDE hard drive to USB 3.0 problems?
Cocodile replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Hardware Hangout
Hello, there was a long discussion between @D.Drakerand another member, where @D.Drakerwrote which quality IDE adapters worked good and need to be bought. I'm sorry, I have no link. But I remember they were German. -
Where were you before!? I'm on iPhone with the iOS 15.6 update, and it feels slow, indeed!

Maybe nothing to worry about yet, it's user agent simplification, which was implemented in Chrome first, then in FF. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Changing_the_UA_String

@jaclaz You compared Sacramento data center, that runs expensive Enterprise hard drives 24/7, with the consumer grade hard disks MSFN members use, really? My consumer grade hards don't even have that parameter SMART 189 High Fly Writes. What's the point of such comparison? Please enlighten. -
I once tried a small piece, tasted like synthetic crab meat made of fake chicken. Imported from USA.

ZoneAlarm is a jewish software, from Israel, perhaps this is what that member meant, when he wrote his "Notes" about "improper racist nature" at MSFN. Otherwise, I have no idea why would he write that. As for my opinion, there's no racism with you, not wanting to use that particular software, you're a customer, a user, so please continue. My experience with it was short, so I can't say much, apart from what I already told about the origins of that software. I actually don't make prejudgements, so I intalled it and tried. It seemed like it was a bit overcomplicated to use and didn't have enough configuration templates, maybe a bit heavy for that old celeron XP laptop of mine. Do you recall anything odd? Like calling home to Israel? Knocking on funny IP? Perhaps give it another chance? We all now have better hardware, no?
