Cocodile replied to MarioMan7890's topic in Windows 8
Thank you! Worked on my laptop! Many thanks for the links from official sources! This one is newer than I had, so I updated. -
US government gives TikTok an ultimatum
Cocodile replied to Vistapocalypse's topic in Technology News
It's you who want to see it that way, people are worried about their safety first! Like in the case with TikTack, where they store ones data on Chinese servers. A big question is, why are you going on a personal vendetta against normal people, who never said anything bad about you? Are there any financial strings attached? Or it's again just your usual stalking? Please bare in mind, it's just a simple question, nothing else! And I'll be perfectly fine, if it remains unanswered. Thnx! -
I never said I don't believe you, I said you didn't point out to the actual KB number. What is for developers is one thing, we are end users, not developers. Cyberpunk 2077 officially runs on ancient GTX970 from nine years ago (2014) , so no wonder it runs on Win7. I don't think it's a good example, sorry. And please give the actual KB number. My updates are up to the end of service already. Thnx!
-
No, they didn't it's just rumours. There's no indication of any actual KB number, just pure speculations. Did you read the article yourself? It's an update for one game that is discussed, not for windows 7 itself.

It's not a bickering fest, wake up. Because it's not related to this topic. What are you all talking about for the last two pages, at least, it's just spam and has zero relation to this topic. Absolutely true!

jaclaz, do you always treat official government warnings, published at official government websites as "some info", apart from their rather simple writing style, which you evidently didn't like? Or only in such rather limited cases that affect this specific software, namely Kaspersky? Please bare in mind, it's just a simple question, out of curiosity, nothing else! And I'll be perfectly fine, if it wil be unanswered. Thank you! If you want my opinion in advance, as well as the opinions of other millions of people that listen to their government, I think it's a very serious warning, despite the primitive language, and here I agree with you!

I too don't understand why he is so strangely and annoyingly promotes Kaspersky virus in each and every topic, even here! And looks like he is talking about politics without any consequences! I created this topic to talk about Twitter's owner outrageous behaviour and how we find a better replacement for that ruined network.

I use a legit non-modified Vista x64 SP2, then install everything according to win32's instructions, no need to get as low as RTM! I never used a third party installer, can't say anything about it!

Intel HD Graphics 620 Installation - Nothing is working
Cocodile replied to MarioMan7890's topic in Windows 8
This reads like an artificial block imposed. Try to edit the header with WinHex. -
Obvious, to sell SSD. Windows 7 was the booster for SSD sales.

Yes, glory, it's a glorious German Social Network, which of they are proud, it saves us when Twitter lets down and blocks our accounts, like yours, for example! Why the heck do you bring off-topic, political, virus discussions to a purely Social Network discussion? I could only guess, but looks like you want to start another fight! Democracy is not Democracy, when one brings software (Kaspersky) from an evil and hostile dictatorship! It's a national risk and a good case for the NSA! In the meantime, you can enjoy the glorious German Social Network, while being blocked by a foreign citizen, who now owns the American Twitter, the result of Democracy.

GTX 1050 from 2016 may be too old for such specific software released in 2022. Besides, in laptops they make simplified/reduced GPU units, so it's on par only with the desktop 2GB GT1030, at best.

I read rumours the new Facebook offspring company will also want ones phone number, which is a no go for me. addon I'll stay with Mastodon Social for now. I'm sure they have a long way with good stuff ahead.

One doesn't need a phone number to join! Isn't it simply wonderful?

Only Germany saves us, like it always does, when Elon Musk puts a reading paywall on Twitter. I'm sure most of you already heard about the Twitter paywall and terrible limits, even on the "verified" accounts and other drastic limits forced by the new owner Elon Musk. https://www.theverge.com/2023/7/1/23781198/twitter-daily-reading-limit-elon-musk-verified-paywall In the meantime, this German brillant non-profit social network operated by the Mastodon gGmbH is the best alternative for the new corrupt Twitter! Many accounts are already there! You just need to replace: https://twitter.com/Example with https://mastodon.social/@Example If the new account name matches with old. The original server operated by the Mastodon GmbH non-profit organisation. Clean and spam/ads free! Join! https://mastodon.social/

Is that so! How wonderful for you! Where were you when I sought help with the transltion a week ago, and even outlined it in your most visited topic? More of a rhetorical question. I can't be blamed for any official statements given by any government, including the Italian Government, I'm sure there was a reason they speak their usual diplomatic language, and, as any government, they don't have to provide proof for their every action. If they came to such a conclusion, they had their investigation completed and all facts checked out! If you have any doubts about it, you have your right to call the helpline of Italian Government, or even go to the court of law, trying to establish a protection path for Kaspersky. In your posts, you like to point out to MSFN "is not like it used to be", where "polite and plain conversation is not possible anymore", yet even if we take this one post of yours, where you call my posts "this kind of meaningless crap could be a good use for Chat-GPT", you show outrageous disrespect, you yourself is very rude. Meanwhile, MSFN rules still sate:"the forum was built upon mutual respect". And even if you think so, Chat-GPT would still be a polite on-topic subject, unlike your attempt at sensless bickering once again, which totally blasts away common sense and politeness.

U.S. blacklists Kaspersky antivirus as an unacceptable risk to national security. Italian Government joins! CSIRT Recommendation of the National Cybersecurity Agency after consultation with the Cybersecurity Unit "In particular, this made it appropriate to consider the security implications deriving from the use of information technologies provided by companies linked to the Russian Federation." Here is the translated link from the Italian Government website : https://www-csirt-gov-it.translate.goog/crisi-ucraina-analisi-del-rischio-tecnologico-e-diversificazione?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=wapp

I think you forgot to mention, there's a huge difference between the places where the data finds itself in the end! Moscow or Washington.

Hello, @AstroSkipper, you're always very helpful, thanks for the warning! Just like the others already pointed out that issue, even on Dell forum: "I'm trying to uninstall avast antivirus for the past 6 hours" https://www.dell.com/community/Virus-Spyware/Can-t-uninstall-avast-antivirus/td-p/6103780 They suugest to use "AvastClear.exe", but no one tells how to uninstall that tool itself after that!

And now for those who use, the old, long abandoned Avast Antivirus Free 18.8, which is the last compatible version for Windows XP. It's not only insecure, it is very bloated, slowing down computers, I had a terrible experience with it on my XP era notebook Toshiba Satellite A50 it was not possible to uninstall it, so I had to reformat the HDD using the original DVD for my XP system. Their own "tool" failed to do it and glitched out the whole PC to the point of no return! Is there any other AV which fails to even uninstall easily? https://forums.tomsguide.com/threads/solved-avast-is-impossible-to-uninstall-solved.443038/
