  1. There were numerous amounts of posts all over MSFN, where they wrote WidevineCdm is only Vista+, I think now it's even worse, it's Win 10+ only.
  2. I block gstatic systemwide, too! All google sites continue to work. I don't know about gmail, though.
  3. Simple to explain, I don't know about @Saxon, but I run the original non-modified version of 2044, because I can't run yours due to the Trojan Warning, after which the browser simply can't start. Saxon also seems to use the non-modified version of 2044, hence the screenshot.
  4. Don't know anything about telemetry. I didn't notice anything bad. My limit is up, I'll ask @Saxon, if he could add the other parts.
  5. It's a VM, Vista's defender is obsolete for 20 years, I don't even remember how good (or bad?) it was at detecting Trojans when it was young, build 6002 is the thing that no one cares about anymore, but thanks for the screengrab. It's almost the same as if you installed bare bones XP SP3.
  6. The browser might already had the chance to connect to the servers and verify against the original china files, if it suggests you to "download the latest version".
  7. The error we both see with @Dixeldiffers with yours, if are to assume you get it when you simply swap the files, though it would still not explain our error.
  8. The transition to the minimum Win10 1607 is inevitable. "Support for Windows 8 and for Windows 10 before 1607 is now dropped" https://qutebrowser.org/doc/changelog.html The fact 120 Chrome started to work seems more like a temporary bug.
  9. Thank you for your concern, but I'm not interested in the outcome, as I've said, the original version with "favourite" runs perfectly fine, so I'm not currently looking for the solution. Whatever check for the custom modified files there is, it's good, I guess. Thank you, again.
  10. I think he wrote he doesn't use this browser anymore, if by the 3rd member of Vista x64 you meant your (and our) favourite member @D.Draker. And as I already wrote, I use the original 2044 build with the file crap load removed (I blocked the malicious connections via firewall). The original version runs good'n'fast without virus warnings.
  11. It's a 32-bit Vista, I have the same as @Dixel, on 64bit. Maybe the file needs to be scanned, like they suggested?
  12. Doesn't look like it, already enough time passed. Enjoy, glad to be of help!
  13. May I just ignore your obvious beef with the NSA? Thanx. I'm sorry, how is this relevant to Windows XP SP3 security programmes topic? Do you have proof or fact checked articles about Windows XP alleged leaking? thanx. Oh, and please stop with the politics.
  14. Exactly! Despite the cons Brave has - it is truly portable, all flags @Dixel wrote here, they all work in Brave.
  15. And how do you know it? Did you try them? Well try, you will see - they are not. Both Kaffan MiniBrowser and Supermium will reset everything to zero. All extensions will be gone, everything. Portability flags don't work there. So don't spread falsehoods, please.
  16. Absolutely! How so? You aren't a spy, are you? When you install the GB version of OS, everything gets proper spelling, even Nvidia Panel has "colour" instead of whatever improper spelling they use. Every other English OS version will also have the proper spelling, except only 1 country localised version (US). Why do you ignore the fact this browser originally didn't have "bookmarks"?
  17. In terms of opening sites - yes, take mediamarkt, for example. In terms of portability (which this topic is about) - no. Kaffan MiniBrowser is simply not portable, like Supermium, so both are off-topic.
