  1. "Senator Wyden Asks Avast Antivirus Why it Sells Users' Browsing Data" https://www.vice.com/en/article/v744v9/senator-ron-wyden-asks-avast-selling-users-browsing-data
  2. Thank you for the confirmation of Avast being a spy tool! Having honest feedback from realtime users is always good!
  3. "Avast antivirus subsidiary sells 'Every search. Every click. Every buy. On every site.' Its clients have included Home Depot, Google, Microsoft, Pepsi, and McKinsey." "An antivirus program used by hundreds of millions of people around the world is selling highly sensitive web browsing data to many of the world's biggest companies, a joint investigation by Motherboard and PCMag has found." https://www.vice.com/en/article/qjdkq7/avast-antivirus-sells-user-browsing-data-investigation
  4. What's 7-zip? I never heard of it before, and I can't find it in any AntiVirus software list?
  5. Thank you! That's all one would need to know about Russian "security" software! I really appreciate your advice and will make sure to avoid that programme in the future! With such members like you, who are open-minded and always ready to show the truth, the World will hear the warnings!
  6. Dr. Web made an antivirus, too. So what you wtote is not completely off-topic, and thank you for reminding us it's Russian. "How do I get rid of Dr Web", a very helpful video with instructions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVutoUWSnuk
  7. Possibly a good idea to check this feature here, it even shows the famous 67.xxxxx IP from Texas on the picture! iSurfer Shield "Protects against identity theft, hacking, and spamming threats" https://download.cnet.com/iSurfer-Shield/3000-2144_4-75077406.html
  8. Another suggestion would be to have a look at more programmes by Giant Matrix for Windows XP. https://download.cnet.com/developer/giant-matrix/i-6247490/
  9. Oh that's very nice of you! One thing to add, I like: it has a very useful feature to securely erase files forever, with several passes! It's even able to retrieve hidden data, for example, malware files created by malicious entities, like Kaspersky.
  10. I remember that programme had a good VPN service with the first "Elite server" location being in Texas. Just like Panda Dome, a very good, elite VPN included.
  11. Kindly provide us with your links, and a short essay, try to be strictly on the subject, thanks!
  12. Panda Dome also has a Free Edition, and it can be transformed to a portable version, which Avast and Kaspersky does not have, so no need to "debate" over anything. Here, see the fact checked article: https://cybernews.com/best-antivirus-software/panda-antivirus-review/
  13. It surely is, I tried on my old German-made XP notebook from the 2010 era.
  14. Thank you very much AstroSkipper! You've always been very helpful! Could you please help me again, I need to decide whether Antitracks is still worth mentioning here? https://anti-tracks-free-edition.en.softonic.com/
  15. Thank you for your worries! This is absolutely no wonder when a member is absent during summer season! I'll may go to a vacation too, maybe next month. Meanwhile, I'm sure there will be a lot of members to warn our dear citizens of the Kaspersky dangers, for example, I'm preparing a translation from the Italian Government, and I ask if we can call for help with the translation from our dear Italian members?
  16. Thank you for the advice! Much appreciated! But I'm afraid, I'm gonna have to ask you very politely, please, in the future, when you quote me, do not remove or somehow distort what I said. I don't mind my replies be partially quoted, but when you remove the most important parts, in this case something you clearly don't want to see, Interesting vulnerability in Kaspersky. (CVE-2019-8286)., it's just dirty and may point out to the thing that you simply have nothing more to say. Please be polite and respectful, like we do, it's what this forum is all about!
  17. jaclaz, do you mind to tell, why a sudden change of hearts? It is not a provocation, nor an accusation, nor anything else, I simply want to know why jaclaz changed his mind, all of a sudden. The political/religious debate (Rule #2.b) is prohibited, but there is an exception carved out explicitly for technology topics, and a simple statement, from jaclaz would be more than enough. No problem however, I can cope with this, if my question remains unanswered.
  18. He no longer considers it due to the scientific fact CVE-2019-8286, I wrote about before, clearly explained, well documented and published on the US.gov webiste, perhaps you missed it? See below, and this has nothing to do with politics, please don't bring politics into here! Kaspersky injects malicious java code in ones browser! "...disclose unique Product ID by forcing victim to visit a specially crafted webpage..." More: https://msfn.org/board/topic/184730-antimalware-firewall-and-other-security-programs-for-windows-xp-working-in-2023-and-hopefully-beyond/?do=findComment&comment=1247547
  19. Of course I noticed! Your HDD is just showing off its age, windows 7 [2008 R2] is known to be brutal on HDD. With anything after Vista, tear and wear happens much faster! Now we wait for SSD supporters to tell us how good windows 7 will perform with an SDD from the year 2023.
  20. Thank you for your interest! Unfortunately the article you provided is not officially Fact-checked, therefore can't be considered seriously when choosing such an important piece of software! These days we all need only Fact-checked information, and I provided with such. Moreover, the one you gave had been written in 2005, so it's simply not relevant anymore... Addon: If we talk about software which is currently supported and constantly updated, we would be interested to read articles at least from this year. Thank you!
  21. Kindly provide proof then, please upload screenshots, reports, log files or better make a video! Otherwise it can be seen very bad, even may look like a pre-paid counter review done by dishonest competitors [someone who works for Kaspersky, for example, please bear in mind, I'm not saying it's you!]. Without proof, it's just words, words, words and words. Please don't forget to post proof from an OS that is the only one on-topic one: Windows XP SP3 32-bit.
  22. While we hear words, words and just words, here I'm giving a Fact-checked article by Laura Mogenytė. Panda Dome is ones TOP Choice among all antiviruses. "Panda Dome is a contender for the best...". It includes: Many features All versions include a VPN Free version Can be transformed into portable version Ransomware protection Laptop anti-theft suite Customer support that goes beyond antivirus Beautiful UI Extra mobile features Source: Latest and current info, from Paulius Masiliauskas [12 June 2023] https://cybernews.com/best-antivirus-software/panda-antivirus-review/
  23. You can't compare any product experience on 64 bit Vista with XP 32 bit. It's like comparing Moon to Mars. One example would be that Vista has far more advanced firewall, and possibly can block the malicious connections made by Kaspersky. Moreover, we already read about your experience in Vista topic, where Kaspersky simply crashed with EX-kernel, I will of course not repeat it here, since, like I said, is 100% off-topic! Hence all you "discover" is asolutely not related to this topic, even @Vistapocalypse agreed he too posts off-topic.
  24. Excuse me, why do you post about 64-bit Vista here? Any discussions about OSes, except Windows XP SP3, [which only comes in 32bit versions] are totally off-topic. I'm asking you both politely, please, stop posting off-topic! Thanks!
