  1. they're already here since June 2022 in UXP/moebius builds. still not having a way for adding them in Goanna3 based browsers.

  2. Already on Win10 20H2, will take a while before I get those damn errors about missing APIs without updating the OS. BTW, you should embed HTTP link rather than HTTPS link for sites that don't have SSL setup correctly or use self-signed cert. Otherwise, it just blocks the image from being viewable in-post. OK, I just thought you felt the pressure to talk to people. Here, it's mostly tourists that even say hi. I'm not much of a talker, only under specific circumstances.

  4. No it would not work. The problem is that UpdateProcThreadAttribute does not support Job Objects as an attribute until Windows 10 (actually since build 98xx where it works too). I actually suppressed the UpdateProcThreadAttribute error on Vista and it does not "crash" as such, but pages do not work, probably because it still does not actually initialize the job objects as such.

  5. It was an assumption though, I assumed that by 2031, MS will have dropped Win11 support, and that Google would support Chrome on Win11 for 3 more years (like with Win7, which had a large market share).

  7. Pardon, I said that I need, although maybe I actually don't anymore, not sure, time will tell, looks good so far. I certainly did need back in December. But from the beginning of December, when I first booted into XP after several months and installed this version of 360Chrome, until today, there were some changes made. On 360Chrome side, new extension joined the collection, Chrome Super Font Enhancer and other extensions (uBlock Origin, Tampermonkey, Stylus) were updated. My normal Windows user account was also de-elevated; I installed Sudo for Windows and removed myself from Administrators group and added myself to groups Users and Sudoers (the mentioned program creates the latter group). Also changed security policy defining the default creator when it's created by administrative users so owner of files, registry keys etc. is set to Administrators group in that case rather than the actual user. So programs, including 360Chrome, run with restricted privileges by default now unless I explicitly run it as admin.

  8. You mean which version of extended kernel is installed? It depends on the vistaexkernsetup_xxxxxxxx.7z (where x is the version in the date format), for example, if it is 10262021, the extended kernel version you installed is October 26, 2021. Yes, you can upgrade old version to current version. Just run setup of the latest extended kernel version, and then follow the instructions on Command Prompt.

I have no proof that he is KGB, and not going to seek for it, but we may safely assume - every russian who has money and lives in the West = KGB. Also notice, heavy Java bloated wesites are usually Russian ! But hey, no Yahoo in that list ? Yahoo is safe ?

  11. THE WAR IN STAR WARS Star Wars has been, and always will be, deeply political. It’s also inspired by and rooted in history. That’s the thesis of historian Chris Kempshall’s newest book, The History and Politics of Star Wars: Death Stars and Democracy— all the ways our own history, wars, and politics have been reflected in a 45-year-old space opera. And, how those historical and political ideas and events inspired the galaxy far, far away. “What I’m hoping it’s going to give to Star Wars fans…is that understanding and that acceptance…that Star Wars has always been historical; Star Wars has always been politics, and it’s fine,” Kempshall said. “People can disagree on the history or politics or the analysis. But the fact remains: Star Wars is trying to transmit something to us.” Kempshall’s book examines the cultural and political influences that made it into nearly every piece of Star Wars media from 1977 to 2022’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series. That includes hundreds of books both new canon and Legends, video games, nine movies, and several live-action and animated television shows. Though Kempshall’s book was published right before the release of Andor, the UK-based historian — and many other social scientists and history buffs alike — have been enthralled with the series’ bold statements on fascism, authoritarianism, over-policing, the prison industrial complex, and the high cost of rebellion. There's no such thing as an apolitical war. ... MORE: https://www.supercluster.com/editorial/the-war-in-star-wars

  12. THE THREAT OF SPACE RADIATION NASA is preparing to return astronauts to the lunar surface. And this time with more ambitious goals. Those missions, which had a successful kickoff with Artemis-1, will establish the groundwork for months-long human habitation on the Lunar surface. Proposed base camps will present unique opportunities to test technology, unravel scientific secrets about the Moon's past and present, search for the presence of water, and more. But before our sci-fi Moonbase becomes a reality, astronauts must perform a variety of tasks on the lunar surface, including site exploration, construction, and resource extraction. For all of these tasks and the operations in between, space radiation poses a threat to the space farers performing them. Between 1968 and 1972, the Apollo missions carried a dozen astronauts to the Moon and back. But all of these missions were brief — the longest lasted only about 12 days. We’ve been there before, but the effects of space radiation are still little-known, and understanding their effects on the human body is vital for months-long missions..... Female Body More Vulnerable ... NASA will soon be preparing for humanity’s next radiation challenge: Mars. MORE: https://www.supercluster.com/editorial/the-threat-of-space-radiation

  14. SPACEX NEARS ORBITAL FLIGHT TEST OF STARSHIP Starship's much-anticipated orbital flight test could happen as soon as late February or early March according to Elon Musk. The mission is a critical milestone for both the company’s Mars ambitions and for their partner NASA, who needs Starship to finally return its astronauts to the moon. The Superheavy booster dubbed B7 — scheduled for the inaugural flight attempt — was rolled out of the Starship’s production facility to the orbital launch pad this week, located just 4 kilometers away. The booster was lifted onto the launch mount. The next day, Starship prototype Ship 24 was mated with Booster 7, completing the full stack configuration of the Starship Launch System. Together standing 120 meters (394 feet) tall, Starship Super Heavy is the largest and the most powerful launch system in development. The fully stacked Starship Super Heavy is expected to undergo Wet Dress Rehearsal (WDR) tests soon, during which the launch vehicle will be loaded with propellants, simulating all the steps needed for a launch without the actual ignition. Final tests will include a static fire of all 33 Raptor engines which will produce 5 times the thrust of the Falcon Heavy, and twice that of NASA’s Space Launch System, currently the world’s most powerful rocket.... 19. Support for the Optional Chaining, and Nullish Coalescing operators is in UXP in theory (and in my experience does work). I don't think support exists outside of the UXP/Moebius codebase though. If you have New Moon 28.10.6a1, Serpent 55, or Serpent 52.9 (My preference would be to use a build released since mid-2022), you can use Palefill 1.25, which should allow GitHub to work again. https://github.com/martok/palefill/releases/download/v1.25/palefill-1.25.xpi

  31. Thank you for sharing this. Got to eat chicken dinner today after a short trip to visit the ducks in the village - they have no flown south yet and might not they are saying and this spring could be strange as the climate is unlike what has been seen in January here.

  32. My Windows 11 impressions so far are that most peoples' impressions of it aren't that great (I haven't used it myself, and probably won't any time soon). I waited 7 years for Windows 10 to get better — and it never really did, so I'm not waiting around for 11, because I doubt it'll ever get meaningfully better either. Microsoft simply doesn't seem to care anymore, so why should I? c

  33. I respect your opinion, and you stand a point about that, but the reason I think it's sad is because when people migrate to another OS (Linux, for example) from Windows completely, they might lose some knowledge and information about Windows.

  34. @UCyborg, I don't know wether it's a good or a bad thing though, esp. in your case. From my own experience, females prefer adventurous males. But then again, maybe it's because of a certain type of the females I usually choose, I dunno. And again, someone who likes down-to-earth folks, would try to force you to have offsprings with them and/or create a family, not suitable for me, but could be very good if you seek exactly this. I can't consult you about males, sorry. From what I read about your country, the local population tends to have more females than males.

  35. This is actually very, very strange, your questions. The setup.exe is inside of the package. The moderators can download and see for themselves. The download link leads to the legit MS website ! Maybe you have the Kaspersky AV that is well-known for blocking the legit files from Microsoft ? Or: I'm just guessing here, you have downloaded another (not mine) driver made by win32 ? In that case, this question is to him. Or: Just a hint - you can install any driver by using only its .inf file from the device manager !

  37. Well, there's already a suggestion for support for Windows 8.1 here: https://github.com/vxiiduu/VxKex/issues/44
    1 point
  38. It would be very useful, especially Windows 8.0 and LTSB 2015 that have many artificial limitations that Windows 7, 8.1 and LTSB 2016 do not have.

  39. even better if supporting newer vcersions (8.1/10 LTSB 2015/2016) as well.

  40. @vxiiduu can you make this tool compatible with Windows 8.0 (6.2), please ? Thanks !

  41. So I started to dig deeper the 385.69 and compared with a usual Vista (non-kernel one). These all are inside of the NVCPL pack. NvUI.dll missing in SHELL32.DLL Shell_NotifyIconGetRect nvWsS.dll missing 345 (0x0159) "N/A" in COMCTL32.DLL nvxdapix.dll missing the following in USER32.DLL GetDisplayConfigBufferSizes QueryDisplayConfig DisplayConfigGetDeviceInfo SetDisplayConfig Do we have all of these in the kernel ? Thanks

  42. Download the latest version from here: https://github.com/vxiiduu/VxKex/releases Install it like any other program. After installation in the properties of the shortcut or exe you will see a tab, there you enable VxKex. And if the program requires Windows newer than 7, you choose which version it requires.

  43. how do i install this, theres no tutorial on the readme or anything and it seems very interesting, hopefully some day this could be used to run windows 10 apps that block 7 users from running them

  44. So cool BTW: Can someone maybe tell me if this kernel will replace some built in APIS I remember once I tried to install KernelEx on Windows 2000 using this: and it broke my Fingerprint sensor and WIFI on my Lenovo Thinkpad So I am a bit afraid to install this on my production machine I am using Windows 7 because of 2 reasons: Aero (which can probably be made to work on Windows 11) and Microsoft Virtual PC 2007: https://archive.org/details/virtual-pc which does not work on anything newer (it kinda works on Windows 8.1 but I don't want to got to that) (and I cannot use anything newer then Virtual PC 2007 because this is the only program that has Guest Additions for OS/2 and MS DOS) and because Microsoft would (probably) never open sourced it, sadly Virtual PC 2007 could never work on Windows 11 (it uses vmm.sys driver that also Windows Phone emulator uses iirc and because of that and I think that network stack has changed over the years, this program will never work on anything newer, and making it work even if we had its source would probably not be possible) So if Virtual PC 2007 breaks because of this kernel, its no diference to me if I just upgrade to 11 This kernel would make my life a lot easier though, because sometimes you just need a python update, or nodeJS update or some other program update, and I realy don't like the idea to patch the installer to refuse installation even if the program would probably work fine Also will this kernel support automatic updates (I mean remember the user that new version is uvailable) (because you know how it is, you install it once, and then forget that it exists )
