can you just stop passively hating everyone that isn't matching your opinions and, at the same time, stop kissing the a** of everyone that does? you sure need a tin foil hat4 points

You have demonstrated over and over and over again on this forum that you can not take "constructive criticism". You have the very unique ability to pick a fight with inanimate objects, so you can only imagine how you come across to those of us that are "animated". You have the very unique ability to walk into an EMPTY ROOM and come out with blood on your knuckles. Most of us here have just grown to "accept" it, you are who you are. But so are we, we are who we are. I hate the phrase, but I'll use it anyway - "it is what it is".2 points

Thank you ! No deals with coppers, don't even talk to them. I mean, even when not inside their station. And don't forget, there are plenty of coppers wearing civilian clothes. Or civilians working for them.2 points

Oh, though, I don't know how to deal with interrogations, My DD Father was always worried if I was ever at the police station I'd admit to something I didn't do, like they would say, better to take the deal, and I'd be like, I don't even know what I did but I'll take the deal. ROF but not funny, of course. I avoid any trouble and I don't do anything in 50 years to cause suspicion; even when I do go to the store, I never put my hands in my pockets or look up at the cameras ... well ... I do but I don't look up but try to look over my glasses.2 points

Hi all and merry X-mass, I got bored and with the help of @Dixel and some amount of inspiration I sometimes get from @win32, I butchered the latest Opera 96 (110) to make it run on our beloved Vista ! This chinese browser Opera is based on the newest Chrome 110, which is officially supported only on Win 10 +. Also, I forced it to use its native hardware Skia engine 110. (which is now blocked on win 7 by default). For those who still drive their Sd.Kfz.8, Opera 95 and Chrome 109 are the last for win 7, so as of now, win 7 and the extended kernel for Vista are not able to run the 110 Chrome version. Please don't ask me about running it on WIn 7, I don't know (or won't tell) anything. In theory, it's possible for win 7 to run it. But only if you edit the browser code. (which is forbidden). Only Vista related questions. Thanks. Opera EULA says we can't edit their code, so I shall share my hacks/findings with @win32 and maybe he will be able to implement this in his next kernel release, so all of you could run it without the editing hacks.1 point

Dell m6700 or HP 8770W On m6700 you can disable the nvidia optimus technology in bios (says in the manual) The HP laptop does not support optimus at all (at least according to this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/q5w82m/interested_in_installing_os_x_109_on_a_hp/) Both support the best CPUs that windows vista can run on without bugs and glitches - i7 3940xm and gtx 980m GPU, but I'm not sure about the 980m driver, I got something off of microsoft catalog, but never tested it because I don't own one of these laptops1 point

I understand why “ArcticFoxie” chose a new screen name. I just unblocked this fellow last week, my mistake! I did not argue against his opinion (I never used Kaspersky), only pointed out that it is listed here (they never check before posting) and that MSFN has advanced users who use Kaspersky. If extended kernel users have got better antivirus alternatives working, I’m afraid they have failed to point that out in the appropriate threads. (This is still not an extended kernel thread.)1 point

@Andalu I succeed to boot with this new nvme.sys driver on the Samsung 970 Pro, and graphikcard gt730 Nvidia and all the devices under IRQ16. For this I setup my original XP SP3 *.iso, modd it via Ramsey, but edit all by hand. I use my new acpi.sys with OS fakes. The setup took place via Firadisk and the Kai driver for HD on my Asrock extreme z690 board with 12900k cpu. Then, I install really everything on this HD. And at the end also the new nvme.sys driver by hand. This XP SP3 on HD I "show" to the 970 Pro, means I connect the 970 Pro. In registry I set Start = 4 for the stornvme.sys. Then I copy via AOMEI 7.0 this whole HD to the 970 Pro. Voila, boots very fast via the new nvme.sys, no Bsod Dietmar1 point

Yes, soft blur is present but buggy in 22000 and removed in 22H2. It's not coming back as is1 point

Moderators have already removed the post. Unfortunately, you replied to it and copied it in totality, so moderators should probably remove that also. Or at least remove the link that the spammer dropped on our forum.1 point

... Of course, that was probably a phony username, but Carlotta (I think) is a female's Christian name ... Later addition: @NotHereToPlayGames : I'm not going to argue on this, you being a native speaker, but... 1. I was taught English in my teen years by a posh Londoner (Mr Andrew Salters, where are you? ) ... 2. If "wordreference" is to be trusted, the singular number refers to a male:1 point

Yes, and I was also trained during my military days to be tough to withstand interrogations, not only physically, but also mentally. That being said, I was never caught.1 point

I think that is what happened to me, I developed a thick skin now and am not as effected by other people as I used to be because I only give little to people and don't alllow people (IRL) to get very close.1 point

Well, sorry , I was busy butchering Opera. Many thanks for your opinion ! I took some time to think and decided to give this whole situation a flying object. (surprise! ... not) But that's just me, thick skinned Draker. Also, there isn't much to say. I understood you're sensitive. I think I was always very soft/polite with you. If not, sorry.1 point

XP should just ignore the extra amount of RAM in your system. It's not like Windows 9x. I run 32GBs of RAM in my main system and I dual booted Windows 2000 and Windows 10. Windows 2000 just displayed 4GBs while Windows 10 x64 displayed the full 32GBs. Never had an issue until Windows 2000 corrupted itself and I never bothered repairing the installation because I barely used it anymore as it was.1 point

Ah, I have a fun story to talk about. I live in the Northeast US. As you probably know we had a Winter Storm come through. Largest storm in years, last one of this magnitude is almost comparable to the 2008 Ice Storm. Anyway, I lost power for around a day and a half. 12-23 to 12-25. Quite crazy, lots of rain and snow, plus wind. Power outages were everywhere. Unfortunately due to the length all my APC's ran out of battery within the first day. Thanks AT&T for having a reliable cellular connection during that, too. Both our generators were broken so we ended up spending the entirety of Christmas Eve to get only HALF of the house powered, since we didn't have the right suicide cables to plug in correctly. Only got a 120v output unfortunately.1 point

According to its Release Notes, the well-known H/W-monitoring tool Core Temp has dropped Vista SP2 support in its 64-bit edition: Thus, CoreTemp-1.17.1-x64 would be the last that natively supports VistaSP2_x64... The InnoSetup installer (the same for both Vista x86 and x64) is no longer offered from the author's site (only the ZIPPED "portable" version is), but it has been archived below: https://archive.org/details/core-temp-setup_20220226 Current version 1.18 will successfully install and run under Vista SP2 x86, but it's plagued by this bug, so I had to revert to previous v1.17.1 (on my Vista SP2 32-bit laptop) ...1 point

I understand these points from reversing your mod. I can do 2 and 3 without issues. But I can't replace InitializeCriticalSectionEx with InitializeCriticalSectionAndSpinCount. If I try it in CFF Explorer which I usually use to modify imports, it fails. New string is too long and can't fit in import table. If I try it with HEX replace all other imports are broken after then. What tool have you used to fix this import please? EDIT: I have only one idea how to achieve it. Delete both import in CFF Explorer and then manually select needed functions from list and rebuild import this way. This will be hard as there are 152 imports from kernel32.dll in x64 MSVCRT1 point

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I can't download KernelEx v3.1 (nor any other version) in English: Windows2000-KB935839-v31M-x86-ENU.wlu The error message is: Bad GateWay If you don't use thedirect link, please change security level down at this site. I tried with FF105, IE 11, and even Tor. Does someone have an alternative link? thank you Apparently the problem is solved, it was just needed to go to the Windows Legacy Update (http://win2k.org/wlu/wluen.htm) and search for the keyword "Extended".1 point
