dont tell me it cant make the hash in xp ? then it is likely it is created by the operating system, probaly in the TPM chip and somewhere via exported api or something however it is just a hash/algo - it has nothing to do with the OS a lot of solution idea´s that came up in the past (like the h265 question(for example over grafic-card) or like the nvidia kmdf/wdf question) the solution idea´s where not os independent - rather the idea´s where to give the xp drivers these functions so we running afterwards windows 10 rather then representing a os independent solution like the h265 image en/decode i put up to repeat that hash for a file checksum sounds very possible to me in this case someone probaly want to go for the TPM driver and some others drivers to add to xp to have this probaly certain function

How does StartAllBack build the Win+X menu? Specifically, I'd like to completely remove Windows Terminal/Windows PowerShell/Command Prompt entries (which I can do on native Win+X menu by deleting the shortcuts from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\WinX, but this doesn't seem to affect StartAllBack); I also noticed that System entry is missing on some computers (specifically, my main workstation).

I guess the way I look at it is: we had a perfectly good compilation of current Firefox in both release and ESR flavours that already worked on Windows 7 and 8x. That's all I want. XP and Vista can now be damned whereas 7 and 8x can be more easily made to work. I'd be happy if e3k-etc could just release a more up to date version of v140 ESR. He already has it working with with v140.0.11, so just recompile the next one. Sigh!

For now, the version is v91, and they’ll keep updating it until they reach the current version (or run into a problem they can’t solve), while version 91 is just a test version to show that progress is being made and to see how it works in general. Chromium for XP also started out as these kinds of test builds, and once they managed to bring the version up to the current one, the old repository was archived and a new one was created, which already supports XP+.

Don't expect miracles! For starters. It's a paid commertcial product, an advertisement made by the same bot that surfaces only to make those ads. Second, no proof it works! Third, no AV scans! Last but not least, a highly dubious app must be installed into the system itself! No guarantees, since it can be malicious and steal your data or worse.

Thanks! I've now simplified my exclusions by simply excluding all files with the LNK extension from scanning. As the folders I had excluded were all full of shortcuts, I thought this was more elegant and it still seems to work. I'm still getting occasional stops and restarts of the main Panda service, but it is usable. All the Panda functions seem to be working fine when the service is running.

@Dave-H Panda 22 has been installed. Items added to exclusions start menu, SendTo, Recent, as you suggested. I also included Microsoft Office as well as system explorer ( task manager no connection to internet) So far it has been working as prior to 2nd of July. I' ll monitor the situation and report back.

@VistaLover The posts about Comodo Antivirus were simply intended to inform Windows XP users that there is still a perfect alternative available. However, Comodo had not deemed it necessary to release an official, static link to the final installer for Windows XP/Vista when it discontinued support for these operating systems. Having learnt from my experience of reviving Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free/Pro 1.75.0.1300 — regarding the updating of its definitions – I have drawn my own conclusions. I never make the same mistake twice. The Windows XP haters of this world will get no further fuel from me. I will do nothing that might prompt Comodo to pull the plug, as Malwarebytes did back then, even if my fix doesn't modify or patch any Comodo related files and only restores the state that the online update function was actually supposed to carry out. One thing is clear. A cursory search for this installer will get you presumably nowhere; you’ll need to dig a bit deeper in the case of Comodo. However, success is not guaranteed as Comodo generally replaces previous installers with more current ones. Whatever the rules may be. Very often installers are then still advertised to be compatible but they aren't any longer. If you can’t find anything, alternatively, you could make do with the installer of the previous version which is still available. The online update is not essential, as you can update Comodo's definitions offline at any time. The main programme and the VirusScope recognizer DLL files will no longer be updated online anyways, due to the change from SHA-1 to SHA-512 signature. These DLL files can only be updated manually by newer, compatible ones, if any are found, of course. I only restored the online update functionality to see, if it is possible, and due to the fact that I can do such things. It’s just the way I am. Regards, AstroSkipper

And, of course, common sense. And if anyone now claims that this is impossible, I’ll respond directly: I’ve configured my Windows XP system exactly like this and haven’t had a single infection in 25 years. Tested latest version WDMHDA.022 on Windows 98 FE with ACPI. According to the logs CORB/RIRB interface is working. Further same as earlier regarding Disable&Enable driver. Further no troubles, just tested Mute on main output: not working on my Codec VT_1705. I added two logs while playing. Wdmhda.022_N68_VT1705_WIN98FE_ACPI_DirectX_7.0_DUT.zip Added: logs with Windows 98 SE. Although looking all the same after Disable&Enable regarding changed Memory Address of hda.sys, MID&RMI are still working! WIN98SE_NO_ACPI_DX_9.0c_Wdmhda.022.zip

I've had the same issues with the Dutch language pack. Some things have to be changed in the .xpi file. Regarding the German language pack; @AstroSkipper should be able to help you out.

The Advanced tab in New Moon appears completely empty when using the last supported version of Pale Moon's German language pack (28.10.0). I don't know if New Moon is still being developed with these LP's in mind, sorry if this turns out to be a useless forum post.
