hi! may i request an addon for Fast Explorer 2006 v2.1.8.280 ... i tried making one (i've uploaded it for your scrutiny) & used cabpack to cab multiple files needed for the final addon but i failed miserably he! he! i need to learn more about this so i wouldn't have to bother you guys ... it'd be nice to have it appear in Start -> All Programs -> Utilities -> Fast Explorer.lnk which links to C:\Program Files\Utilities\Fast Explorer ... thanks!

[NEW!!!] Vista RTM Sidebar v2.4 [Apr-08-07] thanks rick for the confirmation ... i maybe wrong but i simply changed the order of integration of all your Sidebar addons + required addons via nLite and it worked great ... set sidebar 1st then followed by VAIO, then fonts + sidebar games + gadget installer ... voila! sidebar working again ... thanks for the tip about re-registering it via add/remove programs ... for those who might encounter the same concern, this will certainly help! jsut sharing .... thanks!

hi! i don't know if this was missed out but HFSLIP can do some unattended installs too (provided that right files are added to it) ... of course, it's main purpose is too slipstream hotfixes ...

HFSLIP.log is in the main HFSLIP directory ... for example G:\ ---> HFSLIP (this is where it is together with the cmd! also present in SOURCESS unless you specified in HFANSWER.INI not to copy it) ------> FIX ------> HF ------> HFSVCPACK ------> "others"

zip your HFSLIP.log to able to post it ...

hi CelticWhisper! thanks for the reply ... i however did not use autopatcher ... so it may not be the culprit after all ... perhaps other than us, there might be some to confirm our findings ... eventually, come up with a resolution for this ... running a full system scan though using various anti-virus & anti-spyware didn't show any infection ... what could be the cause of this? do you employ any addons by the way? thanks!

hi rick! i have Wireless LAN API (KB918997 ver 6.0.0) integrated via HFSLIP ... do i still need to use Ricks_WLanAPI-KB918997_AddOn_v3.7z (ver 5.1.2600.3024)? i likewise have Ricks_VAIOXP-b2r3.4_AddOn_v1.1 integrated via nLite ... problem is i once in a while get this error: This application has failed to start because vADVAPI32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. ... would there be any specific order of required addons to prevent this error from coming up? i already had this working well before so i was surprised getting the same error pop-up ... thanks!

you're welcome! sorry for replying just now ... btw, which errors would those be? 2.8mb is network setup meaning you have to be connected to the net for it to download the files ... the 50.3mb is the redistributable installer ... good luck in addon making!

hi tc! observed the cmd run and these were the HFs which have usb binaries: 887173, 890927, 892050, 899271, 905816 & the one you posted: 918005 ... would the last 1 take precedence over the rest? going back to the basics - HFSLIP slipstreams only the latest ver of binaries right? i.e., HF1 had file ver002 while HF2 has file ver001, file ver001 of HF2 would not overwrite file ver002 of HF1, correct? thanks!

if it does we would not have the setuperr log regarding flash, right?

hi TC! i think this is it! i often see these files extracted from the runs ... i guess i don't need this for my desktop ... i'll take this is required for my portable ... i'll see if i wouldn't encounter the prob anymore when i take this out ... strange though this wasn't the case before ... didn't have to re-apply SP2 in all my previous builds ...

hi IcemanND! i'll be trying this out ... i tried recently double driver but it couldn't retrieve my SB sound driver for XP ... it got the driver for 2K but not what my card requires ... i have to manually install the specific XP driver after OS install ... hope this would be good for me ... thanks!

hey tommyp & tomalak ... nice to hear from you guys again ... this problem didn't present itself before since i've started using hfslip ... twas only now that i experienced this ... i reckon there might be HFs that update something in usbstor file (& other related usb binaries) that leads to this concern ... thanks! EDIT: btw, i will be closely observing the cmd run and see from which HF the usb updates are coming from ... i recall seeing this but can't exactly remember which HF
