in the beta there is no windows update bug but you won't be able to uninstall it but i doubt you'd need to uninstall it if it works for you,the 1.6.2 has a windows update bug but allows you to uninstall it when the official 2.0 comes out then i will install it but for now i'll stick to the 1.6.2

this is very much like the feature in windows xp

you can't disable it about windows 2000 i doubt it's possible well why don't u upgrade?is the new version filled with useless stuff?

with mine i have around 82%on startup,the lowest i've gone is 33% i did have one occassion on 1 98 se pc that it ran outta resources but it ran but pretty slowly my compaq 1235 has higher resources than the 98 se desktop but the desktop runs more apps than the laptop does maybe try going past 512 n you may see a difference

thats only for dos apps,it doesen't really help windows 9x sides dos apps and 16bit apps r long gone as far as i'm concerned(i never use em),these do help but for windows not really dos put these under system.ini under 386Enh ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1 PageBuffers=32 32BitDiskAccess=on 32BitFileAccess=on for msdos.sys under options: LoadTop=1 BootWarn=0 BootDelay=0 BootMulti=0 DblSpace=0 DisableLog=1 DrvSpace=0 and under config.sys: STACKS=0,0 these make for a fairly fast 98 se system(these may work for me)and visit http://www.mdgx.com/ for lotsa reg tweaks you can apply to make it faster,more stable/etc...

thats too complicated i don't use 16bit or dos apps now,i have alternatives

shell32.dll is where your icon names n stuff are if you increase your icon cache your icons won't change to the old ones after awhile ah i haven't seen 95 icons in years...brings back memories,wish i had win 3.1,that was the first os i ever used,also if you use desktop themes your icons will change from the standard icons,icons like the floppy drive look to be from 98,i've personaly found xsetup to cause more problems than what it'sa worth so i do everything manualy

i've used em all me is by far the worst,it's too picky with hardware and software,i had 98 se on for over a year and it was rock solid,the time i upgraded me i had problems here and there 24/7 i have an xp comp that has isa hardware(soundcard)and it works,under me it didn't so from my experince 98 se is far better than me,2000 is very good but with sp4 it's too slow so use sp3 instead,xp is the best os i've used(longhorn betas suck)windows 95 was good in it's days,xp pro is far better,like if you want the windows installer v3 you can't install it under home but under pro you can,dos was good in it's days,windows 3.1 was the first os i used then upgraded to 95 then 98 then 98 se(98 se is still my favorite os even though i use xp pro+sp1 most of the time)

i've used em all n i say xp then 2000 then 98

with nlite i had some problems with some programs otherwise i'm neutral on it

it's the same thing as giants antispyware just different wording and it doesen't have a subscription on it yet but giants does,it's ok but i wouldn't use it as i use giants antispyware instead,also during my test this and giant picked uo the same and picked up more than ad-aware,i tried it on my laptop n it found 70 adware like kazza n stuff that was uninstalled n gone that ad-ware missed but was picked up by both this and giants antispyware

i use opera to view it and it's perfectly fine,they got it set up pretty good

what i often get are headaches but thats mostly cuzz of the adnoids(they need to be removed as they cause me problems)i still have perfect vision even though i'm on a computer 24/7 with a 17 inch crt and i have it on fairly bright so i can see often for me if i get too much light in my eyes after being off a comp i get headaches and there bad(they feel like a migrane but they aren't) otherwise i'm perfectly fine with full vision and i'm only 21

it's sad ppl have to do such a cruel crime just to get a laptop,if you can trace him n maybe get the laptop back n he can goto jail then thats good but don't count on it,if he knows what he is doing he won't plug it to the internet and he will already have gotten rid of the ability for you to gain remote access to it,if he knows what he is doing then thats the cause,the best thing to do is buy another laptop but get some security locks for it so no1 can steal it,i got a laptop(an older one but i don't have any security locks for it yet)yet it has valuable information on it but i keep it in my eyes 24/7,anyway he probably did it cuzz he wanted a laptop n couldn't be a man and buy one,for example if i knew it had that on it i would know how to remove it n be safe but thats me,anyways good luck with trying to get it back...

alot of those registry tweaks can help and before i tried to msg u but it said no such member existed for the new user and uer32.dll u need to goto dos mode,personaly i've found it helpful only if you got another os also use 98lite if you got it as it will remove so useless win 98 fluff,also use the shell swap for chubby,the active destop and web view r resource hogs

what i did was left system restore and pchealth and removed the rest and it was stable but i had a pc with xp on it that had an older isa soundcard n it worked
