it's alright the app tells me what vxds do not exist so i get em from the cab files i'll do it the long way

no1 made my computer i built it myself(i always build em with good parts not oem part garbage)what i did was copy the windows 98 files to the hard drive to eliminate the need if a program asks for the windows 98 cd rom maybe thats why it dun do anything

gape used to include the windows me defrag ,starting from version 1.5 and onwards he took it out that was not legal from what he just said yet he added it then removed it

i cannot get a screenshot because it tells me this before i load windows it could just be a problem with system commander thinking i am adding another windows 98,maybe if i try some things we shall see

do you know it to unload 16 bit dlls?

but what i meant was i've tried it under 2000 n xp it actualy slows it down,under win 9x or me it works wonders

the AlwaysUnloadDll Registry Trick works wonders for windows 98 se,not very good under 2000 or xp though

what about adding the AlwaysUnloadDll Registry Tweak if you run 32 bit apps then it's worthwhile but if you run 16 bit it might complain n give errors

tarun i've ran that winpatcher and it doesen't do anything,no scanning it just shows me what vxds do exists n ones that don't and i click patch and it don't do a thing

when i use this then system commander wants me to update files then it adds 2 windows 98 se icons a gui and a prompt and if i try to delete them i cannot boot to my other oses unless i allow it to add those 2 win 98 se boot icons your previous sp 1.6.2 never did this i obviously cannot format any help would be appreciated

Tarun when i run your winpatcher how do i use it?do i need to extract the files from the win 98 cab files?also adding those vxds kinda seems to help with apps n stuff

replace the taskmanager that comes with win 98 se with a w2k style one

what about adding that task manager for win98 se and replace the windows 98 se one with this one instead? here is the link: http://www.niresoft.com/tm.asp also would it possible to add the choice of adding or removing the windows 2000 color scheme and icons to the add/remove in the control panel or add it to the windows setup like what 98lite does so that if you make a mistake you can reinstall it without running the service pack?

would it be possible to use that win9x task manager and could it replace the one that comes with win 98 se?makes sense if it's possible cuzz that task manager for win9x is very good
