same here this new sp will breath new life for win 98

did you remove the old drivers before swapping?and reinstall newest drivers for that particular card,using the default xp drivers won't do

as soulin was saying there are a ton of apps that you can use to do it yourself not that hard soulin just pointed out some apps you can try out

use giants antispyware or microsofts version of it or use ad-aware and or spywareblaster

i doubt it's posssible it's hard coded into the bios if it's an oem,if it isin't thats another story

try an xp repair,that often fixes many problems

i had 2 issues with sp2,it was fine,didn't boot into it for several wks then all of a sudden when it logs me in it logs me out,i could have done a repair but figured i'd give my xpsp1 the space since it gives no troubles at all,and i couldn't run nfs underground on xpsp2

do you use xplite?is rpc locator turned off or removed?maybe try a xp repair,also what kind of internet do you use?do you have DHCP Client Turned off?

firefoxthebomb is right the os should automaticaly assign different drive letters or problems may arise but sometimes it doesen't so you need to do it

but xp prooved better cuzz it uses the nt kernel not the dos kernel 98 was indeed sposed to be the last win9x os but ms wanted to bring me out a failed experiment gone bad hmm....

it's best to run server oses for server related stuff cuzz if you mess something up you'd need to reinstall win server 2003 xp is good for non server related stuff and you don't need to tweak it hard to be a workstation os as it already is a workstation os
