  1. I’ve decided to create this thread, since the amount of half working programs have became kinda crazy. Handbrake - 1.3 is the latest officially supported version. At this time the newest version work just fine, but it is no longer supported. Beamng.Drive and Rocket League - Both give "App stopped working" When you properly exit them. They function just fine, but this weird message comes up every time. Geforce experience - While you can install and open the newest 1.24 geforce experience, it no longer screen captures and many other functions stops working. 1.23 is the latest one that still work normally. VMware workstation Pro - The newest 16.2.1 version of this still functions on 8.1, but 3D acceleration has been turned off for some reason. 16.1.2 is the latest one that still functions as intended. Logitech GHUB - The latest version works if you update it through vista compatibility setting. For some users a warning saying that the driver is not digitally signed pops up, but everything still works. iTunes - See my topic on this. Onedrive - Microsoft claims that it will stop working on 1st of january 2022 Office 2019 - Somewhere on msfn I’ve seen people claiming that it can be installed. I use office 365 and it still updates to their newest version just fine. Ryzen CPUs - They work just fine. Don’t forget to manually install missing pci drivers from amd folder and usb 3.1 root hub. Use AMD’s windows 10 driver version 2.17.25.506 RTX 3000 - Unfortunately no known workaround has been found RX 6000 by amd - They seem to work. Sometimes you get weird colors on unity games. Please contribute to this list. Cheers

  2. @Dixel Changing countries? I don't think that's viable for me. I'd rather just drop dead if things go too dystopian. Definitely don't wanna live just to survive, though circumstances may lead one to such path. @D.Draker BTW, Christmas decorations came a bit late here, so there was that. It's been years since this time of the year felt magical to me, guess I'm too old. About the world, something caught my attention in the news in recent times. Some people make accusations towards medical students that they're just in for the money and not to help people or something along those lines. So the student that was in front of camera that made that statement was obviously a bit upset about haring such things despite students working hard at it, specifically helping with COVID patients these days. OK, so I won't deny that they work hard, but really, at the end of the day, who isn't in for the money? All this pretending, sheesh. I wonder what the world would like with significantly less optimism bias.

  4. Just in case anyone was wondering why I've gone quiet for a while, it's because I'm working off-thread with George King on a Windows XP installation package for (relatively) modern machines like this. There are still a lot of issues with it, at least on my machine, but if I can get a new clean XP install that's as functional as it can be, I'll then know what the intrinsic limitations actually are, eliminating anything that's just being caused by me using an existing and already much modified installation. Where we are at the moment, I'm beginning to think that the only answer to getting all the hardware properly recognised by XP is a modified BIOS, as long as that doesn't break Windows 10! Cheers, Dave.

  6. That's always been my favorite firewall by far, and I've used HUNDREDS back in the day. MOST firewalls out there are made for "grandmas and grandpas" with SIMPLISTIC rules like "this is a web browser" or "this is an email client" and then the "pos" ASSUMES a set of ports to allow/block, ASSUMES tcp and udp actions, et cetera. ALL firewalls (and antivirus!) will "slow your computer down", but I think you'll be quite satisfied with that version of Comodo. Back in the day before I modified all OEM "installers" and ported all software to "portable", the parent-based rules in that firewall were a godsend! When an "installer" takes you to a HOME PAGE, for example, that firewall will BLOCK that access because the "parent" isn't the parent that NORMALLY launches your "default" web browser. I actually use a setup with Internet Explorer still set as my "default" but Internet Explorer is disabled, it cannot "launch" on my computer so anything that "tries to" just 'times out'. Much more "security" [there's that d@mn word again!] when your computer doesn't have a "default" web browser.

  7. Jeez , I'm so glad ! BTW , I just found some leftovers of that crapware in my winsxs folder , unlocked the files and deleted them (both) . One of them had some "performance" settings !??! My FPS in games went higher and the PC is much faster now !!!

  8. You'll probably want a TITAN Black, then, if you can still find one. From what I can see, that's the most powerful card which supports CSAA. You'll take a little bit of a performance hit switching from your 980 though. Perhaps if you're lucky to find two TITAN Blacks, you could run them SLI and make up for that. EDIT: In fact, I just went and checked eBay, and it looks like there's a handful of people selling them. As of this edit, there's three bids on someone selling two of them for $205 each.

  10. It's free, no activation required. You have the correct file. Lightweight, fast, efficient, parent-based rules (ie, you can block your default browser from accessing the internet if launched by another browser but allow it access if launched from a shortcut on the desktop).

  11. I suggest version 2.4.18.184. If you can't find the installer then I can PM it to you.

  12. That's about DcBrowser...yes a formidable option for us when FINALIZED (please, @Humming Owl ...) I find it nicer than 360EE... Sure it has some unsolved problems until now, but so many positive things that I like, that as a result I use it mainly. Nice settings page, dark mode with Brightness setting (which I had set to 88%) and Timed activation (which I don't use), plus I had added Dark Background and Light Text extension. I use other extensions (like in my 360Chrome builds): uBlock O., Script Blocker Ultimate, No More Referrer, Ping Blocker, Browser JSGuard ( https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/browser-jsguard/ncpkigeklafkopcelcegambndlhkcbhb ), Privacy Settings (on Full Privacy), Ad Blocker for YouTube (v1.0.6 with ID: gmcmlg.....) that's all running, but I've qq. ext. not running (No History, Random User-Agent, Redirect Link Checker ..). The 360EE builds have to test purposes for now... So @XPerceniol - you could use it, you too.

  16. It's bug 1737470. From Mozilla: Emphasis in original. MailNews and IceDove (and Navigator and IceApe, which include them) are likely to be affected, but not pure Web browsers like Mozilla's Firefox, MCP's Basilisk and Pale Moon, or @roytam1's builds of them. anyway they're merged from https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-esr91/rev/b6173cd78c9d522f2e3257c408933db4f9cedc13 and will be there in next build

  17. LOL! Just to bore you all with the history, the reason I have these machines is that I like to have a physically small and light unit that I can carry around easily when I'm away. Those 10.5" screen models all fit nicely in my shoulder bag! The problem with most of those small netbooks/notebooks is they were very quickly superseded by tablets, so they were never really developed into anything more than very basic computers. Almost all of them are very underpowered for anything other than very basic use. The first two Asus EeePCs I had were at least proper miniature Intel based laptop computers, with easily changeable external batteries and things like disk activity lights. The second one could be upgraded to 4GB of memory, which helped it a lot, as did fitting an SSD of course. They were designed for Windows 7, and didn't have high enough resolution screens for Windows 8/8.1 to work properly. I managed to upgrade to Windows 8 and then 8.1, but a lot of the apps wouldn't work, they just crashed the graphics driver, and those that did work needed a registry hack to fool them into thinking it was a 768 screen instead of a 600 screen, but they looked blurry and distorted. No hope of getting Windows 10 to work. That's why I then went for the third Asus machine, the AMD based one. That had a touch screen and supported Windows 8.1 and 10. It was fixed memory (fortunately 4GB was fitted) but was really crawling slow. The problem was the rubbish processor. Eventually I got so annoyed with it every time I tried to use it, that I looked again for an alternative which was the right size, and still had a conventional HDD or SSD so I could transplant my drive yet again, and came across the Lenovo Flex 10. I'm actually very pleased with it, it performs a huge amount better on Windows 10 than the last Asus machine did, and the other two performed on Windows 8.1. It's missing some things that the Asus machines had, like an Ethernet port and SD card slot, and only two USB ports instead of three, but I can live with that. The touchpad is dreadful, even worse than the ones on the Asus machines, and they were bad enough, but as long as I can use a mouse that's fine. I do think this machine will be my last as far as small netbooks go, which is why I'm anxious to get everything I can out of it! Cheers, Dave.

  22. Hi, do I save my kernel32.dll patch with this method?
    1 point
  23. You put the memory address of the function in the wrong place (00000040 is near the beginning of the file; not the end where .xdata is located). In IDA Pro you will notice two numbers on the status bar: The one on the left, 0005B840 is the offset memory address and the one that Export Table Tester uses, as well as hex editors. So that is where you want to put the address of the function. And then there are a few other concerns, especially with regards to the export table: if you do not move it to an empty space in the file, such as farther down as .xdata, with lots of expansion room, you may end up running into other code or data.

  24. Hi @win32 , I try to make an extended kernel for Windows NT 4.0 I have add this function : GetProcessIoCounters But i found an error : I don’t found the function in IDA list of functions ! But in export table tester and export directory in CFFExplorer the function exist ! I found the code in IDA in the HEX view and IDA view in .xdata segment : I don’t know how to resolve this problem Give me a way to solve this problem please. I documented everything I did, using several pictures to illustrate every step I took in this link: https://mega.nz/file/4k0iCYiJ#3CaHXrnEUnsdRqMB3IMiMeuJpxbFp24bm1Rp7Kf75RA

  25. Well thank you I will do everything you told me . Please if you have time in the future. Explain the method of adding a simple function, and processing imports, and send it in a link from Drive. Maybe I will need it if I can't implement your words correctly. I don't force you to make a video, I say if you can, otherwise, thank you. I benefited a lot with your informations .

  26. Hello Win32 ,I started yesterday to test the kernel extension based on your topic. Thank you for all these explanations. I want to ask you, where do you get these Hexa functions? I want to add some functions to kernel32 .dll for windows 2000. as an experience. Can I move the functions in the kernel32.dll export table for Windows XP or Vista 32bit? To the export table in the new kernel32.dll section for Windows 2000.?
