  1. Oh! That's easy! People at Invision actually live by the motto "if it ain't broken, fix it until it gets FUBAR", of course!

  2. Does it make any difference? While at least you and I (and many long-time members) actually do use flags that trully reflect their location, many others don't, so I don't think this actualy enhances privacy much. Did some aspect of it escape me?

  4. I already solved the problem by installing the extended core and a slightly older version from 2014, I consider the problem solved.

  5. Why not jump to Windows Vista ? A solid choice , especially considering it has a fully working extended kernel , thanks to @win32.

  6. Yes this is Vista inside Vista. Server 2008 is on another VM (not shown in these images) This is some weird behaviour I noticed on Firefox: on Firefox 68 ESR with localised versions of Media Foundation files, Youtube videos (both pre-recorded and livestreamed) play perfectly fine, but on Firefox 78.0 ESR and upwards, pre-recorded videos don't play while livestreams play properly. This is not a very big deal, I know I can use Chrome, but sometimes I prefer Firefox for blocking the disturbing ads on Youtube. I don't know about Rapid Release branches. Anyone else facing this issue? Update: This issue seems to have been fixed (unknowingly) by Mozilla in FF 84. Both pre recorded vids and livestreams play just fine with localised Media Foundation files.

  7. Good. You need to be anyway careful when (if) you need to use partitioning software or similar, as the 0x00 to any of them will likely look like an empty partition slot and thus "free" and usable, with the risk of overwriting the address data. jaclaz

  8. Looks like the flags issue is back. The popup with the country name still shows when you hover over where the flag is supposed to be.

  10. Hi , how this will help not working pop-up menus ?

  11. Please do the research and read what others wrote . It's kind of basics . As one ot the members mentioned , it has nothing to do with the system and/or the ex-kernel . Kernel just redirects the missing APIs and that's it ! I have the same issue with the same browser on Win 7 on another machine , and yes , I do block the remote fonts and will continue to do that . As for this website , well , I'll just use it much less frequent. Can't stand the white background , and I've read somewhere that you don't like it too. I'm not waiting for your reply , all of the above is proven and/or rethorical .

  12. Amnesia:Rebirth works on vista , weirdly the NonSteam exe works even on vanilla SP2 , but the exe with steam launch crashes without Extended kernel

  13. GetLogicalProcessorInformationEx -> GetLogicalProcessorInformation TryAcquireSRWLockExclusive -> AcquireSRWLockExclusive psapi.EnumProcessModulesEx. It's basically the same function but this kind of substitution is usually unsuccessful for some reason.

  14. - Syncing can be done through SyncToy, but I understand it may be a pain to get all your music off of iTunes. Best to get out of Apple's grip now though while you can. - Maybe for """AAA""" developers, they only want 10, but honestly, most AAA games suck anyway. - AMD has always been notorious for ***** drivers. That seems like a huge problem though. Have you made sure that something else isn't messing up in your system? - As to the Intel drivers, I don't know the context at all there.

  15. I am essentially the same way. I love Linux and I think it will get big, but in my case, I just don't prefer anything that it offers. Windows 7 and 8.1 just worked when installed and are compatibile on great amounts of hardware.

  18. The template is literally: "The procedure entry point (Function) could not be located in the dynamic link library (dll)." For that one screenshot, it'd be: "The procedure entry point RtlUTF8ToUnicodeN could be not be located in the dynamic link library ntdll.dll."

  19. ? I'm typing in english. And my guess anyone dealing with extended kernel is familiar with this error message. If it was important, I would translate that.

  20. Well, the temporary answer to these problems is simple. Just use virtualisation/dualboot/another computer with Windows 7/8/8.1. I recommend using Windows 8 (with UI tweaks) and avoiding Windows 10. Let's see whether in the not-so-distant future, Office 2013+ would run properly on Vista.

  22. Sorry for the late reply, @Rouddy. This project aims at making a pure x64 version of Telegram? If so,then that's great! Tested with the extended kernel and it works just fine! It's safe too!

  23. You need to extract the file "Teams-1.3.00.26064-full.nupkg". After the file is extracted, go to the folder "lib" and after the folder "net45" and click "Teams.exe".

  24. Microsoft Teams works with the extended kernel. You just need to to extract it with 7zip.

  25. Do you plan to upgrade to Windows 10 in the next 12 months? No, if anything, I might either downgrade to Vista or upgrade to Windows Server 2012 R1. If new games don't support 7/8, guess I'll have to have a 10 PC I remote into to play games. Might try to make some sort of VNC that only uses 127.0.0.1 or something. Are you paying for extended support? No, I actually usually don't update my system fully anyways, most of my installs are about 4 years out of date update wise. What is the main reason you haven't upgraded? Telemetry, bloat, instability, bad design, UWP, and more. Note: Server 2008 R2 is basically Windows 7 Edit: I've realized that 127.0.0.1 wouldn't work, I'd need to use the network IP of the computer, but that's easy to grab.

  27. Dear WinClient and win32 (any everyone who participates on this project): Thank you soo much for doing this project, I really appreciate your work. A few months ago I was very sad that NOBODY really appreciated Vista and that Browsing has become extremly risky. I updated it with Server 2008 patches till 04/20 to make IE9 safe at least but as you all know -> 113 HTML5 points are not enough to browse the web anymore. So thank you for this Extended Kernel, so I can use the latest Firefox on my most favourite OS. I hope you will one day be able to port Office 2013+, OneDrive, Skype, Steam and Spotify to Vista. That would be amazing

  28. We REALLY need a KernelEx for Vista... I mean, it's in the same predicament as Windows 2000! Heck, I bet it would be easier to develop than what we have for Windows 2000, because Vista has most of the components 7 has (with the Platform Update and all).

  29. You'd think that in order to qualify for the "legacy" label, Vista would have to be unsupported by Microsoft completely first. But I guess considering how the third party support of Vista has fallen like it has, it doesn't really make much of a difference.
