I fear that no one here will convert a webextension to a legacy extension, just on request. The probability for that is close to zero. Especially when it comes to a rather unimportant extension whose function is already covered by some legacy extensions. The effort involved for doing such a project is very significant. The only way is looking for an extension programmer, who usually has to be paid for, or performing such conversion on their own.

Looking at the quotation from the version history on their homepage, the support for Windows XP seems to have been restored in WINSCP 6.3.2 and that completely unexpected. Unbelievable and great! I had recently upgraded my gaming PC to Windows 10 from Windows 7 in order to maintain Steam compatibility, and at that time I had bought a new SSD. But ever since then, the computer was basically unusable for 5-10 minutes after boot, or when downloading anything like Windows Updates. I tried many different things, then the other day I decided to try running a benchmark program. The reason why my computer was so slow became immediately clear. The original disk is a Crucial, and the new disk is a SanDisk. I've since moved back to the Crucial for reasons that can be seen below. I hear you. But I still update more often than once every five months! I believe the 2-24 Serpent versions are stable and that's what I'm running now. There have been no updates in several weeks, long enough to identify and fix any big issues.

NM 27 and NM 28 typically use the same profile folder: %appdata%\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon. If you wish to use both NM 27 and NM 28 on the same PC, you should make one or both portable to keep their profiles separate. (I believe a portable loader is mentioned in the first post of this thread.)

It shouldn't be a problem to find latest Intel's Lan driver's for Win7 eg. with google. I utilized this here from Gigabyte - version 20.7 works well.

I'm not a coder either. I was more enthusiastic about it when I was younger and free from having to work for a living. Hacked up some stuff together, some published, some not. I find the whole thing rather boring these days, takes forever to get anywhere. I don't have forever anymore and I'd rather not be glued to the screen 16 hours a day. Feature requests? Yeah, I'm sick of those at work. Number of bizarre ones among them. I'm not in a position to implement them or decide whether they get implemented, I'm just a messenger. I'm feeling more disconnected from IT as I get older, wondering a lot of time what's the point of it all. A browser is a browser, a text editor is a text editor, a toaster is a toaster. People seem to be making an elephant out of everything. Why bother? An EMP blast can send everything to kingdom come in an instant.

The update works, but the last update of the virus definition is v2024.03.13.12. Nothing more up-to-date is currently available. In any case, I totally agree Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300 was and is the lightest antimalware programme ever. That's why I was so happy in July 2023 to have found a way to reactivate it. Just a tip. Try the most recent version of Serpent 52 (2024-02-24) using a fresh profile! If the 64-bit version still shows the issue, try the 32-bit version where GitHub's search function works in any case!

It is worth mentioning that in MailNews (and I would suspect Thunderbird, generally) does not show the Save Dialog box except for downloading of attachments or where the resource to download is navigated via the Start Page (Home Page) functionality. If one were to browse a webpage In MailNews and click a link to try to download something, the save prompt does not happen. Right-clicking on an item that and choosing to save a file, where available (like for pictures), can still be done. I would guess that uBlock Origin relies on the browser normal process of presenting the dialog box, which is something that in MailNews is not provided or provided by default. The legacy uBlock Origin extension, although it does support Thunderbird, seems lacking in many areas and some things are rather quirky. Perhaps at the uBlock Origin legacy extension's final point in its development, Thunderbird compatibility was not well adjusted in the extension. My impression is that the uBlock Orign legacy extension was first developed for Mozilla Web browsers, then (incompletely) adapted for the Thunderbird email client derivative(s). My opinion is that it is still better to use the uBlock Origin extension with MailNews than to not.

If I didn’t have this lifetime license and preferred a free antimalware programme, I would choose Panda Free Antivirus on Windows XP.

I guess kiss the unGoogled Supermium idea goodbye. From what we can see by the comments/issues/suggestions at the github's page, many would like to have it Googled - to be able to use Google services. Hence the newly added Google sync or whatever they call it.

Ungoogled 109 is the last for Windows 7, it can be made fully portable with the help of just 2 flags.

Hello everyone. I just finished re-adding GDI to Supermium. At first it would only work in --single-process mode, but I got it working in standard mode by ensuring that FontCache objects have the Skia GDI font manager when GDI is enabled. Then I want to fix TLS, readd D3D9 DXVA support, and link Supermium against a DLL with implementations of many newer functions. I have fixed my PMs if you are interested.

No problem like that in my place, even though a common user -perhaps even an ISP- can't really know if certain sites are blocked. I just don't care for anyone but the site I am browsing to know I am there, and I don't even want some sites to know -therefore the use of tor and such. However, ISPs -and many sites (see pm, for example)- can also detect the use of tor, and either block it or (potentially) log it and report it to either governmental or non-gov agencies, or to particular individuals in the national or international arena. And since not so many ppl use tor, once an ISP wants to do it (or is forced by agencies or individuals with the muscle to do so), they can see you are running tor, like a bright needle in the dark. Then the rest is just waiting until they find out where you are. Running behind something like shadowsocks may make that harder than it is today. In my case, I do not care about the instances when the previous paragraph becomes a reality. But it will sure take them a while, and more than a sorry a**, to know I'm just human. I don't know (or really care) if my mother would approve of my browsing behavior. I do care that petty hackers, clumsy censors, or my ISP know what I'm about. Just coz, sometimes research, and fun. Nuff said.
