There are, but you need to choose only the best ones, since their soldering isn't always good. The first image is with an additional power cable (the cap on the photo is simply a filter against spikes, it can be directly connected to a PSU via molex, the second photo is a simple extender.2 points

As I already mentioned, I am just testing my new release uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.32 regarding how effective the filter lists selected by me and some custom filters are. Here is my result in New Moon 28 on the adblocker testing site https://test.adminforge.de/adblock.html where all connections are allowed by ematrix for testing purpose: Cheers, AstroSkipper2 points

I always set everything to English Great Britain (United Kingdom). With the American language you will get wrong spelling and even unicode problems. So try it. Everything in the world is set up to work for/in the UK and with British standards. ))))2 points

This is "about climate" topic . Do you think USPS trucks pollute the atmosphere ? Yeah , I agree , it's peanuts compared to the russian tanks/rockets near our borders.2 points
-
I'm sure all of you are aware that Russia placed enormous amounts of war arsenal (and some say approx 125-150 thousands of cannon fodder too) extremely close to the European borders . Not to mention russian fleet in 240km of Ireland's shores , right above the data/internet cables for war "exercices". Why no one says anything about the catastrophic impact on the climate ? All of that efforts that @Mr.Scienceman2000and @Gansangriff were doing all these years (using old phones , saving the planet) are in vain. Anyone ? Silence ? And what about the poor animals killed ? Poor Irish fish ? No protests against near russian embassies ! Where is Greanpeace ?!?!? That's what I thought... Ever wondered why the "greens"(reds) only oppose UK/US and not Chino-Russia ? Well , one can't bark at the master . Here's a short but sweet explanation and a bit of history of this "movement". Esp. about the current German ones. Win32 aims at a much bigger crowd rather than us, such folks care about automatic updates, Googel sync, DRM, Nvidia "shield" or whatever ir's called. Just read what they order at the github's page. It's understandable, esp. if we consider the browser seem to follow a commercial route.1 point

Yeah, thanks, it's the free variant, perhaps that's why it doesn't work? https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/178#issuecomment-19131895981 point
-
Personally, I never run "installers". In this case, you only need to use 7-ZIP (and extract TWICE). The FIRST extraction will give you the progwrp.dll file, MANUALLY place that in the Windows\system32 folder. The SECOND extraction will give you the Supermium files (that will not run unless you performed the MANUAL first extraction and MANUALLY placed the .dll into your system32 folder). I only tried the 32bit just to see if it does "work" (it does!) WITHOUT the need of running an "installer".1 point

You can try my version. It no longer depends on Thunderbird application ID, all relevant changes are in js/vapi-background.js, Hopefully all remains well with it, a one line change - adding Epyrus' application ID in one expression in the mentioned file - would have been easier, but the other way should be more correct.1 point
-
that's still the installer. you have to extract it further until you have the "chrome-bin" directory with an executable called "chrome.exe" located in it.1 point

That did it, using IMAP I'm now getting OAuth2 as an option so I guess problem solved. For now at least normal password is working again so I'll stay with that.1 point

Based on this thread it doesn't work with Office 365 accounts. But normal Outlook accounts do actually work.1 point

Correct. The reference contact person is Weolar and the builds are provided by him to the companies who purchase the extended support afaik. I'm very very very lucky to be one of the people that receives those builds, but of course they're private and I cannot share them, however they do have some bugs. Anyway, they run just fine on Windows XP SP3 x86 without the need to use One Core API.1 point

I'm watching the streaming version, it only has the simple, outdated by decades Dolby 5.1, probably it would have more depth and atmosphere with DTS 7.1. Some good ideas are surely present in the film, some scenes could be shorter (too soapy).1 point

I'm super used to that. Back in the day I also bought two SSDs but of different brands. A Kingston (works great) and a Samsung (just a bit faster). A friend of mine with a lot of knowledge in technical service always told me that no matter how much you take care of the system, after a certain period of time it deteriorates due to use and ends up corrupted or broken. That's why one day, when I had no choice but to install XP from scratch and reconfigure it to my liking, I made an image and I always have a way to go back. Never had any problems with damage to the disk itself. Once the image is restored, everything works fine... until after a certain time something starts to fail again. That's why I do incremental images. I've heard that Linux in general is robust and doesn't have this problem of deterioration as Windows. I've tried to research about it to experiment but unfortunately many drivers will never be released and, generalizing, it seems to work fine only on machines with the most common and generic hardware, which is not my case.1 point

Indeed! I was at the premiere at our Vichy cultural centre (Opera of Vichy). Good memories - 1980s - cosy and isolated Western Europe, no troublemakers inside. Safe to roam the streets at night, after attending such nice events, for example. https://www.ville-vichy.fr/ccv Here's how it looks inside. https://www.lamontagne.fr/vichy-03200/loisirs/lopera-de-vichy-et-le-centre-culturel-s-ouvrent-au-public-ce-samedi-le-programme_13552504/1 point

Fantastic film, I can say the same about all of his films, I'd like to add another suggestion. 1982 Blade Runner is highly advisable to watch, if you manage to get the working print, especially. https://www.whattowatch.com/features/blade-runner-cuts-explained I understand Harrison Ford's acting can be hard to watch, try to ignore. I only watch because of Rutger's mighty acting in that film.1 point

True that. I bought back in the 2010s two kingston 128gb SSDNOW, one for my setup, one for my siblings. They stopped using theirs in 2014, and I saved it, while using the one I had originally installed in my setup. All went well until 6 or so months, then it started resembling physical drive issues: lost clusters, bad enumeration, eventually damaged blocks, that would move from place to place. I thought it may have been an end of life switch: dumb SMART reported good conditions, despite extensive use. I replaced it, which forced me to reinstll XP from scratch, as my old images wouldnt recognize the configuration (next time I will try to record and change disk id). To set it up from lipstreaming to tweaks takes two weeks, to get XP to my liking, but I have all already documented stepwise, after years of study, practice and stuborness. If I manage to get this new strip down of tricks xp to run as an image within a linux-mint platform (to run internet applications displayed, within XP, I think i'Il have another 10 years of a good thing. May the fairies of XP help me with my needs.1 point

You're welcome Dave! Despite what the version number says, the BIOS files inside are newer, they are dated as of late 2010. It's some sort of a BIOS update with the same chip, but manufactured by Acer. I extracted the update, it's much newer than yours from 2004.1 point

This is a nitpick, but it's not x86 "emulation." Emulation is what you do when your CPU doesn't understand another CPU's instruction set: you use a program that reads the machine code written for the other CPU and does what the other CPU would have done, usually much more slowly. In contrast, the x64 processors do understand the x86 instruction set and execute x86 instructions natively, so x86 programs run at the same speed they would on a "true" x86 processor. Of course it still won't be as fast as x64 code, because you're manipulating data 4 bytes at a time vs. 8. So there's still a speed penalty compared to a 64-bit app. (Plus, 32-bit code also has that pesky 4GB addressable RAM limit.) So I can understand why you generally prefer 64-bit apps, even if your terminology was a bit wrong. OTOH, we're talking about an email client here, not an AI engine. How much RAM and speed could it need? Your preference for 64-bit apps is understandable, but I wouldn't make it into a religion.1 point
-
Why? For "small" programs, there is no programmatic benefit to compiling an x86 into x64 "just because".1 point

I agree with Jody, 12 is rather good! Just don't upgrade any further on the old devices, like this one is really slow. 4 Reasons Not to Install iOS 15.7.7 & 11 Reasons Published 3 days ago on 06/30/2023By Adam Mills Apple’s iOS 15.7.7 update could have a huge impact on your iPhone’s performance. While most users should install the firmware right now, others are better off waiting a few hours or perhaps even a few more days before upgrading from older iOS software. iOS 15.7.7 is the latest iOS 15 upgrade for iPhone and it’s available to download right now if you own an iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, or iPhone 7 Plus. The software’s not available for newer iPhones. The iOS 15.7.7 update is a minor release, but it brings important security patches to these iPhone models. It doesn’t have any new features or bug fixes on board. https://www.gottabemobile.com/4-reasons-not-to-install-ios-15-11-reasons-you-should/1 point

I can pass you my rights for the Addon serial and for the "Free game campaign" (the third option , very interesting) so you could complete the SpellForce series ! I have two editions of the same game anyways , that's right . I have an ordinary UK GOLD set and the 3-disk Limited Austrian Edition with the soundtrack CD. The patch will work with them both ! You will get a new menu with three options : campaigns and free campaign mode with (50+ maps), instead of just one. Also , there should be a handy map editor available , I think links aren't dead yet. Proof with photos , if necesary .1 point
