  5. For whom it was "failure"? As an example, Vista's business sales were even stronger than expected! https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/report-vistas-business-sales-stronger-than-expected/ Vista RTM ran perfectly fine on several of my Siemens computers, I still run RTM without updates on a Haswell PC from 2013.

  6. Hi! Ever wondered Vista users might get offended? You are expected to be mature and polite on this forum. So, you gave no articles? Of course. Did you use it on XP era computer? Please tell the specs, I never encountered anything similar with RTM x86. Worth to mention, I switched off indexing and ready boost. In fact, SP are slower. It could also be your defective HDD. Example: boot duration increased with each SP added! https://news.softpedia.com/news/Vista-RTM-vs-Vista-SP2-99960.shtml

The debug version currently displays the parameter values before passing on the call. The default version will ignore the call if it is "continuable", or call the debug version if not.

  12. yeah, also the web hosting service of that page seems very nice (with a good base idea) --> https://neocities.org/ I recently migrated my website stuff to that service because I was using GitHub, and well, Microsoft owns GitHub and that makes it boring. Also because I want to support it in some way (at least by using the service for now). Seeing the same kind of plastic web pages all the time and how easy is to break a website nowadays just makes it obvious that website development is just a Jenga tower that is mantained by some kind of temporal anti-gravity force. Originality and own effort is just thrown away for an ugly/soulless template and the people thinks that said template is the only way to build websites in the present.

  13. Excuse me, it seemed to me you weren't happy about the restored default settings, but debloating is the only way, that is proven to work. So either you live with the default OS, or de-bloat the hell out if it. Simply no choice. A good example is remote desktop, which is reverted back with almost every update, even in Vista, and I'm sure I don't have to explain to you what it is. Have you ever used it yourself, apart from trying to hack someone else's PC with it?

  14. Settings keep getting back to defaults in Win 10 is common knowledge. Especially in Error Reporting. No surprise, no wonder here. Policies have always been a moot point. Only removing and cutting out crap from ISO works. BTW, did you disable auto driver updates? Could be the reason.

  18. I can't comment on New Moon, but OnlyFans works fine for me in 360Chrome with the proxy switched off in the browser, and with it switched on now as well, although it takes longer to load. As discussed before, onlyfans.com* has to be added to the [SSL Pass-Thru] section in the proxy config.ini, otherwise it doesn't work, but there seems to be no intrinsic problem with working through the proxy.

  20. Best Buy? Is this a joke? They don't do direct international orders, they never did, there is, however, not direct weird scheme to ship to a U.S. address, and only then to your country through a third party! I'm sure you understand (or don't?) it involves more money/taxes/payments/conversions from one currency to another. in the end, you will never see such a price, esp. if we are to assume you're from Sweden, one of the most highest taxes countries. To spare you some time, scroll to the bottom, or see at the start: "Price: 400, 500, 699 Euro". And now convert to USD, at the rate of that time, which was 1.4 (or 1.5?) USD per One Euro! 22. Isn't increased stability the main advantage of multiprocessing in browsers? If each tab and add-on is running in a separate process, wouldn't that likely prevent a crash in one tab bringing the whole browser down?

  23. I go to any store in my town, I go to Paris, I have a friend who owns a big shop, I see the same amount of each Windows versions being sold with ready made computers, people will basically buy what they told. I don't know how those, who wrote such opinions, determine if Vista was a "sales failure", are you business owners in huge cities? Were you in business in 2007? The one who made this topic was 5 y.o. (from the public info at his account). Those "seasoned members", who upvoted you, one wasn't even born, the other one was 5 y.o. , the third one is not any windows user at all. I agree with the others, you can't just call any OS a "sh*t pile" here, I don't do it, so why should you? You can't even imagine what I want to call Windows 7 and 8, especially 7. I'm fighting the temptations really hard.

  24. I thought Windows 8 was already “the new Vista.” I ran Vista for as long as my old hardware permitted, and I’m not happy that it is still synonymous with failure, particularly since Windows 7 was basically “Vista SP3.”

  25. Quite possible. But I do NOT use nor "support" single-process browsers in 2023! Unlike 360Chrome, everyone can decide for themselves whether they want to use Mypal 68 in single-process or multiprocess mode. I only said that I prefer the very stable single-process mode because of my low-power Windows XP computer. But this does not mean that multiprocess mode is unstable. On the contrary! It is supposed to be quite stable by now. With Mypal 68, the code, especially with regard to the JavaScript engine, which is now at level 78, is constantly being developed and corrected by @feodor2. Maybe, your observations in terms of stability are not up-to-date. Here is a link to the most recent release of Mypal 68 in the version 68.13.2b: https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal68/releases/download/68.13.2b/mypal-68.13.2.en-US.win32.zip :OT I see you like my self-created smiley I allowed you to grab. 1 point
  29. Maybe it works now, but what about later? You want someone to waste enormous amounts of time porting something that already 8 years old? From what I see in their development, they are going the route of increasing the dependencies on the newer memory functions, which was not yet widely used in the early Windows 10 releases. TH2 version (1511) is from 2015, windows 8.1 is from 2013, do the math.

  31. That's absolutely correct! Another, nice example is SpywareBlaster 4.6 which was the last version compatible with Windows ME. Updating of the definition files stopped when the version 5.0 was released. The most recent version is 6.0. When updating the definition files in SpywareBlaster 6.0 under Windows XP, they can be used in the version 4.6 under Windows ME without any problems. BTW, SpywareBlaster is on my internal list, and I will write an article about it soon.

Research done in a couple of clicks. https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/217285368/sunsetting-chrome-translate-for-chrome-m95-and-older?hl=en They claim to still support 96 and up, which is not entirely true, at least on my end, I was only able to get translate fully working with Chrome 103 (May or June 2022).

  37. Hello friends, i have faced with some issues: - Windows XP x64 with winload and installed on nvme not restart normal. I think is related with acpi because it's ocours with Windows XP 32 bits and only restart normal when i use ACPI from Longhorn 5048 (patched) or ACPI 6666 (patched); - Windows XP x64 with Compiled ACPI freeze on my Core i9 10900k and B560 motherboard at boot screen with compiled acpi. Works with Longhorn 5048 acpi driver; - Both Windows XP 32, Server 2003 32 and Windows XP x64 freeze on Setup Hardware Detection portion. I think it is related with acpi too. I'm producing a Package installer as part of One-Core-API to prepare Windows XP/Server 2003/XP x64 to can installed using Windows Vista Setup engine, including boot with Winload.exe/Winload.efi. Its is not too complete than XP2ESD, however, prepare Windows for general install on any system, like Windows Vista+ does. So, it is hardware independent.

  42. Custom Buttons - The extension for installing custom buttons The extension Custom Buttons gives a possibility to create or install custom toolbar buttons to enhance the browser's functionality or get easily access to features difficult to be reached. Here is a screenshot of Custom Buttons which is integrated in the Add-ons Manager after installation: There are different ways to install a custom button. If you have written an own custom button, you can add this code via the button 'Add new button'. Here is a screenshot of its configuration window: If you want to install an already provided one, the installation depends on the format of this button. In case it is offered as an XML file, you can install it via the browser's file menu item 'Open file' and click onto the button 'Install', or you do it via 'drag and drop' into an empty browser window. Here is an example what you'll see when you do that: In the internet and especially in the Custom Buttons forum http://custombuttons.sourceforge.net/forum/index.php, you can install custom buttons via a provided link. You see, a lot of possibilities to get and install custom buttons. The last version, you can download via the Classic Add-ons Archive, is Custom Buttons 0.0.5.8.9. The version, which I use and can recommend, is Custom Buttons 0.0.5.8.9.6-fixed8, a more recent and compatible one. It works flawlessly in New Moon 28, Serpent 52, and also in other browsers. I uploaded this version for you. Here is the download link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/wpf38lupdi4fo0s/custom_buttons-0.0.5.8.9-fixed8-signed.xpi/file Cheers, AstroSkipper

  45. Yeah , of course , the next time some unhinged russkie zombie is going to kill me , I'll make sure to say : "dear sir, please stop for a while , I need to explain to you that there are "evolutionary theories" saying we are supposed to be from the same species" . Well , my European brothers , good luck to you with such views and policies. Even addressing that zombie as sir is as idiotic as it could get @D.Draker! I am mathematician and natural scienctist. I believe nothing. The theory of evolution is nothing to believe. There are facts. If you want to, have a look in this simple, popular scientific article about "Early human migrations": https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_human_migrations Evolution doesn't mean that all changes and developments are good or bad. I definitely know what you think about a special part of the human population. And, as I already said, I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, there were some misguided developments in the past centuries. Did you read 5C? You see, we share the same opinion. But I cannot agree with you about evolution itself. Please, do not confuse the two! Anyway, if I were younger and had a similar education to yours (and maybe, some more muscles ), I would come along and show my support for our views, even though I am actually a Pacifist. Humans have interfered very much with evolutionary processes over the last centuries, unfortunately in a rather negative way. In this case, however, I hope that the intervention is massive and that we can correct this aberration, ultimately.

  48. I had been meaning to respond to this topic for a week, but I'd been so preoccupied with work and other commitments that I hadn't had the chance to ... until now! I wanted to leave a huge thank-you, @XP-x64-Lover, for all you've done in finding these drivers and allowing those of us sticking with XP64 a chance to upgrade to hardware a bit more recent. Between your drivers and the trick explained by Matt's Repository for getting XP/XP64 drivers for the nVidia 9XX series, on Memorial Day Weekend I was able to finally give my desktop the badly needed overhaul I'd been wanting to do since my first posts at MSFN back in 2014! That's 64 GB of DDR4 RAM, SABERTOOTH X99 motherboard, Intel i7-6950X CPU, and a GeForce GTX TITAN X. I wasn't able to get the SSD thing sorted out, so I wound up using the IDE method, which has worked amazingly well with my existing install. Since @bluebolt figured out a way to get an install of XP64 working on a NVMe 2.0 drive, I may skip the SSD and attempt a fresh install off of that instead, since the X99 has a bay for NVMe drives. For now, though, I'm just excited to have not only put my hardware troubles behind me for now, but that I've now got the RAM upgrade I've wanted for years!
