  1. New Google Chrome browser security plan slammed by experts

  2. this could be earlier than you posted. (but this is not my work as a whole) https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/commit/e56b7b826d6f4f8cb1fc4bcd06fce7786540784c

  3. It was the problem with W3 total cache ,WordPress plug-in. I removed it :3

  4. You do not need to remove this post. It was just a hint if you have further issues with 360Chrome or other Chrome forks. The discussion here was mainly about web compatibility in terms of two websites, mediamarkt.de and saturn.de which were tested in 360Chrome and Kafan browser, too, just for comparison purpose.
    2 points
  5. Why remove, when you could simply ask a moderator to move your post to the correct thread?

  6. Hello @WSC4! Issues related to 360Chrome and other Chrome forks should be posted in their corresponding threads. We have a lot of them. FYI, this thread is actually about @roytam1's browser editions.

  7. When I create a new post containing own images, I always upload them to an image hoster before. I think a post should also be able to be understood by readers in the future. Especially, if one, as for example me, has created articles with information which should be preserved for as long as possible. And I personally am not too lazy to insert the golden rule:

  8. Technically, none of the 360Chrome versions are being "maintained". They have all hit FINAL release stage. Humming Owl no longer updates his versions and is much less of an active member as he once was, but he still does visit on occasion:

  9. Yep, I use Total Commander myself for the same reason: renaming lots of files. It's very handy and I've been using it for years and years. On XP in particular, I also use it to transfer large files from a network storage to another 'cause it gives the speed and detailed info on how much data has been transferred. On modern Windows this is included in the transfer window, but on XP without Total Commander I would only have the simple progress bar filling up from left to right, which offers no info whatsoever.

  12. Here is a link for the old Sandboxie webpage describing Known Conflicts: https://sandboxie-website-archive.github.io/www.sandboxie.com/KnownConflicts.html Kaspersky was indeed listed (among other software), but IDK if this old information is applicable to SBIE 5.40, which Sampei.Nihira mentioned in a December 2020 post.

  13. Of course it does! "It's all relative." And you can not compare REAL v86 to backport v86 in XP, now can you? Backport v86 is "faster" than REAL v86 in Win10 and in Win7 - my point was that you cannot blanket-statement backports as "inefficient". Inefficient is another way of saying "slower". One of the laptops is triple-boot - XP, 7, and 10. Backport v86 on same hardware and on same network is FASTER than real v86. But no, you cannot test real v86 in XP, we all already know that. Feel free to test on your hardware, backported v86 is FASTER than real v86 - and I'm quite confident that it is for everyone, "not just me".. On XP x64 - Backport v86 scores 75.04. Serpent 52 scores 36.5. New Moon 28 scores 37.7. Next I suppose you'll probably want to see "real" Firefox 52 and "real" Firefox 28 - but I don't have them and I leave that to those that are interested in the results.

  14. Hi Milkinis, I am not using Wi-Fi and I tried the Chrome loader file and the 360chrome.exe in the application folder. Because this is roytam1's thread, I have moved discussions on this to these threads: https://msfn.org/board/topic/182876-360-extreme-explorer-modified-version/page/140/ https://msfn.org/board/topic/184624-arcticfoxienotheretoplaygames-360chrome-v1352036-rebuild-1/page/35/ See you over there if you have more ideas. Thanks and regards.

  15. A valid concern. Also, @roytam1would have to implement support in his browsers as well, or else websites that use this API would just not work, even if the underlying OS would be trusted. Googles own sites, like Gmail and YouTube would be among the first to implement this... Also, no more video downloading with e.g. yt-dlp. Code has been committed to the Chromium source already. https://vivaldi.com/blog/googles-new-dangerous-web-environment-integrity-spec/ https://github.com/mozilla/standards-positions/issues/852#issuecomment-1648820747 (pinging @VistaLover)

  16. Because those browsers and the OS they were developed for, they all matched perfectly. Modern Chrome was never meant to run on XP and shitload of compromises are made for them to run on it. That's what all these backports really are, a bunch of compromises, inefficiencies and half-baked or non-working features.

  17. Oh, it's fine, like I said, I can live without seeing the attachments, thank you, I know how to change the IP, I even tried with a very famous VPN (that everyone knows, they usually unblock everything), I tried right now, all the same.

  18. It was @VistaLover, it's not the first time I see his attachments show up like this, No offence, I don't read his posts, mostly because we don't share the same interests, it's just an observation. This time I decided to look at them.

  19. They show like that for me, if I go there directly, they say you got a view limit on them. "The HTTP 429 Too Many Requests response status code indicates the user has sent too many requests in a given amount of time ("rate limiting")."

  20. Chrome 117 for XP, it's not happening, forget it. My hunch, they started to serve you different content, try to change UA, possibly even to mobile. I still suggest to try VPN. https://www.useragentlist.net/chrome-android-13/

  22. Hello @UCyborg! Thank you very much for sharing your "mediamarkt.de | saturn.de quick fix" userscript! I tried it in New Moon 28, Serpent 52 and 55. Although there are issues with images in the item lists as already reported by @VistaLover, it works and makes these websites readable again. In Palefill 1.27, martok also made fixes for mediamarkt's login area. Nevertheless, I hope there will be a solution of all these issues one day coded in NM and SP themselves. BTW, I am a customer of Media Markt's online shop and I am glad to be able to use this site in NM and SP again. Thanks again!

  23. Facebook is heavily dependent on IP, and will load its features (or not) accordingly. We don't know which country you're from, if you're from Russia, Iran, or North Korea, some (or all!) servers will surely be blocked, so it won't show you everything, if all. Try VPN. For me it works fine, I can't show the screen, I don't have an account, but I see the start page just fine, That said, I don't live in any of those countries. So try VPN and report back.

  27. I agree, but when one just points out to the facts, no MSFN rule against it, no rule that would forbid to name the official investors/owners. Like you wisely pointed out, we are the customers, and have the right to know who owns them. "Russia funded Facebook, Twitter investments through Kushner investor." "Institutions with close links to Kremlin": https://www.theguardian.com/news/2017/nov/05/russia-funded-facebook-twitter-investments-kushner-investor "Facebook is taking that rumored $200 million investment from Digital Sky Technologies, a Russian investment group... giving Facebook a $10 billion valuation." This one is from 2009, so $200 million/ $10 billion was a lot, lot more. https://techcrunch.com/2009/05/26/facebook-takes-that-200-million-investment-from-the-russians-at-a-10-billion-valuation/

  28. But he wrote "this issue doesn't appear with an hdd of the same size", meaning Vista works perfectly fine with GPT, but not with his SDD. About Win7, you're right, it doesn't work well with GPT/UEFI, I agree.

  32. No, I meant the below fixes need to be applied in the registry if you want to change from AHCI to IDE. I should've been more specific, sorry. I was under the impression you would understand: Change to AHCI mode from IDE mode: You can use the MS Fix it tool or edit the registry yourself. Link to tool here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976/ Regedit: 1. Exit all Windows-based programs. 2. Press [Win] + R or take the RUN option from the start menu. 3. Now type Regedit there and press Enter Key to open up the Registry Editor Window. (If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.) 4. Locate and then click the following registry sub key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci 5. In the right pane right-click Start in the Name column and then click Modify. 6. In the Value data box, type 0 [3 is default], and then click OK. 7. On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor. 8. Restart your computer 9. Go to UEFI/BIOS and enable AHCI, Save & Reboot 10. Another restart will be required to finish the driver installation. Change to ACHI mode from RAID mode: 1. Exit all Windows-based programs. 2. Press [Win] + R or take the RUN option from the start menu. 3. Now type regedit there and press Enter Key to open up the Registry Editor Window. 4. If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue. 5. Locate and then click the following registry subkeys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\pciide HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStorV HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi 6. In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify. 7. In the Value data box, type 0 [3 is default], and then click OK. 8. On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor. 9. Restart your computer 10. Go to UEFI/BIOS and enable AHCI, Save & Reboot 11. Another restart will be required to finish the driver installation. Note: You might not have the last registry key (iastor) as this is installed in the registry with the intel raid drivers, the default windows 7 raid driver uses the iastorV key. Change to RAID mode from AHCI mode or IDE mode: 1. Exit all Windows-based programs. 2. Press [Win] + R or take the RUN option from the start menu. 3. Now type regedit there and press Enter Key to open up the Registry Editor Window. 4. If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue. 5. Locate and then click the following registry subkeys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStorV HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStor 6. In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify. 7. In the Value data box, type 0 [3 is default], and then click OK. 8. On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor. 9. Restart your computer 10. Go to UEFI/BIOS and enable RAID, Save & Reboot 11. Another restart will be required to finish the driver installation.

  34. Haven't you noticed, jaclaz, he wrote he could get into the system after he changed from AHCI to IDE in his BIOS, even though he installed the OS using AHCI mode. It's not possible to boot without the registry fix appled first! He'd get BSOD right away! So something fishy is going on. He doesn't tell us everything, obviously. "I installed it with the AHCI option enabled but switching to IDE i've been able to enter the os."

  35. 1 - Expressing opinion is one thing and there are suitable words for it. Calling one of the respected countries a "3rd world craphole" is an insult. I bet you use an American CPU , not Slovenian ? 2 - "American posters who are discontent with "the way things are in their country". -LOL. And you know this how ? How do you know "the way things are in their country" ? 3 - Google search engine is a commie propaganda machine , so no wonder it would insult America. 4 - School shootings ?!??! What does it have to do the climate topic ? We are talking about countries and their role in the polution ... I once saw a russian "history" book for foreigners *from 60 years ago* and they promised *since the dawn of ages* "America will be dead soon" , lol. Yet it stands. 5 - One's got to learn not to trust the TV. Doesn't look like Slovenia is doing good, judging by what you write how you live (don't own an AC , driving a car from 1991 and so on). 6 - Yep, and I do everything I can to defend it - fighting the orcs in Ukraine, I'm gonna go there for the second tour. And by saying sh*t about America you're helping them , not us. So which side are you on ? P.S. I personally think you're a good member, but not when you insult us.

  40. 1 - For that feeling one would need to live a capitalist country, for starters . I'm sorry , but you don't ... or maybe you have a great imagination. 2 - You're right ! There's a saying I brought from Ukraine, I don't know if it's a British or Ukrainian one originally: "pigs always find dirt". 3 - Excellent idea , thank you ! That's precisely what I'm gonna do today. P.S. Not meant to offend the real (animal) pigs . BTW , I live on a "green" side myself . Not that I receive money from the KGB to destroy the West , lol. I mean I walk a lot , don't use gasoline , don't buy oil or any goods from Russia , don't buy drinks in plastic bottles (only glass), I don't mine or use Pentium D , xD !!!

  41. So then why do YOU violate this very rule yourself and suggest (directly or indirectly) that someone who opposes or protests would seem "low IQ" ? Is this what you call "respect" ? And what about your recent rollup saying that I write "jibber jabber" posts ? Maybe this is "respect" in your opinion ? "Jibber jabber is Incoherent and unintelligible rapid speech often in slang or patois. Used in the UK as a disparaging name for other languages such as French ..." https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Jibber%20Jabber disparaging: [adjective] meant to belittle the value or importance of someone or something : serving or intended to disparage someone or something What are you? Maybe of some "special/godly/holy" race , better than the others ? Higher value than the French ? So this is you who don't respect and flame me on a daily basis.

  42. Caution! You might accidentally insult the Greenpeace ecologists and BLM . And being older age , I'm pretty sure you might remember when the Soviet Union fell apart , Gorbachev released the secret documents where they acknowledged : the "green" movements were financed by the soviets to undermine the West and its economy and later the arabs joined and started to finance them too , in order to jack up the oil prices and whatnot. Seeing Russia is back to the good ol' soviet days (it actually never went away), I wonder does it have something to do with the current gas prices ? lol . I also wonder when/if some similar documents would be released regarding the BLM. The last sentence is off-topic of course , so please excuse me.

  43. Where do you see any signs of capitalism in the World ? It's gone. The Pentagon is hiring a new Director for Diversity Equity and Inclusion. Apply within the next two weeks. Salary range $163,333-$203,700 per year. https://usajobs.gov/job/657467500 "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion". Plain old communism in a new pink cover, in normal words. That instead of showing *them* who's the *boss* . And then you all wonder about the gas prices. You'll pay as much as that dictator of the well known insane tribe (that sits their arse on oil) wants you to pay since *it seems* there's no one to perform a "special operation" to show *them* their place. So your choices are pretty limited . On the other hand, you could join the Western Europe in their attempt to use electric cars , but I honestly don't beleive it's happening soon . The oil lobby is still too strong . On the other hand, there are some countries already , that have plenty of electric cars and charging stations, like Denmark and Holland. Kinda start to like the "special operation" crap term, lol. Very convenient not to use real terms ...

  47. I'm sure all of you are aware that Russia placed enormous amounts of war arsenal (and some say approx 125-150 thousands of cannon fodder too) extremely close to the European borders . Not to mention russian fleet in 240km of Ireland's shores , right above the data/internet cables for war "exercices". Why no one says anything about the catastrophic impact on the climate ? All of that efforts that @Mr.Scienceman2000and @Gansangriff were doing all these years (using old phones , saving the planet) are in vain. Anyone ? Silence ? And what about the poor animals killed ? Poor Irish fish ? No protests against near russian embassies ! Where is Greanpeace ?!?!? That's what I thought... Ever wondered why the "greens"(reds) only oppose UK/US and not Chino-Russia ? Well , one can't bark at the master . Here's a short but sweet explanation and a bit of history of this "movement". Esp. about the current German ones.
