Plan? There's just me going with the flow. I do wonder what would make the one assume I'm over 40. Or older in general. Logically, I would assume there's something about the way I express myself and you two being used to that / similar way from older people. Speaking of throwing others just away like objects rubs me in the wrong way (plus getting used to new person is stressful to me in general, and I think it would be especially in such context)...though I do realize it can go the other way: ...yeah, maybe too kind - can happen. I know some will just use you for money. Either way, if there is hypothetical one, the right one out there, great, if not, fine, I'm still my own best friend. Heh, I'm a slow turtle, and I'm not really mentally in the right place ATM to be purposefully looking for someone. I presume I'd relate better to someone of similar age. These things have better chance of occurring spontaneously if you go to places to do something of common interest, which I don't really do. Day is only as long as it is and my batteries only hold as much charge. And the environment we grew up in shaped all us differently. I'd likely be out of place on those. I know people these days find themselves on the internet, but still, I don't know...read that thing about spontaneous above. I think regarding both friendships and romantic relationships that there might be theoretical possibilities of something good developing in the end, but the probabilities might as well be in the range of big jackpots on the lottery. Life - lottery, yeah...you're thrown a set of cards, now deal with it. BTW, I think I'm something between asexual and heterosexual. Yes. And put some familiar noise (music) on when silence gets too mundane. Well, I say as long as he's content, all is fine. You're asking the wrong guy. I've no answers, but there must be numbers of us out there that can relate, some more, some less. Alright, had enough writing for a while. Final thought, pondering on these things, I also see it as a consequence of a working brain, so why not? Beats being a zombie.2 points

Better link for Ungoogled Chromium on Windows -- https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium-windows/releases edit - criss-crossed while Humming Owl did his post, the "binaries" link is also a good source.2 points

You don't need to use 360EE any Chinese Chromium-based browser on Windows 10 at all I recommend Ungoogled Chromium as it is the only one I use on Win7 for example (you can get binaries for your platform from here) --> https://ungoogled-software.github.io/ungoogled-chromium-binaries/ A Firefox alternative (that is a Firefox fork) can be LibreWolf (Seems nice to be fair) --> https://librewolf.net/ Cheers.2 points

it depends to revision number. 110.0.5425.0 is last working version in win7. 110.0.5425.0_Win_x64_1072883_mini_installer.exe and 110.0.5425.0_Win_1072913_mini_installer.exe are last working archive (if anyone saved them elsewhere)2 points

@we3fan Why don't you use yt-dlp_x86 ? OK, the official releases doesn't works on XP but the source files are availables. Here the link to a unofficial build for XP compiled by myself: https://www.mediafire.com/file/0ak8vljoht30123/yt-dlp_x86-2021.10.22.zip/file2 points

It seems to me like a re-post of the one you posted here about Nintendo closing down (which BTW is NOT a joke and IS NOT funny): Why don't you change the title of this thread (and of the one senselessly duplicated on Wincert) to something more accurate (the general idea is that a topic title should reflect the content of the topic), like (only ideas): "Whatever crosses my mind (by legacyfan)" or "What if a technical forum was Twitter (by legacyfan)" jaclaz2 points

Aye, hard to be sure anyway if it doesn't occur consistently and you aren't a pro in analyzing these dumps. Blaming it on Chinese is narrow-minded. Any program of such complexity could be exposing bugs in the kernel space.1 point

None of them, in my honest opinion. I personally use https://github.com/GTANAdam/GDIChromium/releases on my Win10 installs as my default. I also like https://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/Internet/Browsers/Advanced-Chromium.shtml (but it's true home page [http://browser.taokaizen.com/] has been down since Jan 1 or thereabouts). I always keep https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium/releases around also, but my home cable streaming service does not work on it but does in GDIChromium.1 point

Your laptop is too new for Win9x. As for DOS sound, your only option to have good DOS sound in your laptop is to get a PCMCIA Sound Card compatible with DOS games, more info here: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=30840 Though probably such sound card will be more expensive than a PC with ISA slots and an ISA soundcard1 point

The SBlaster emulation automatically configures itself. You can run command.com and type: On one of my machines I get "A220 I5 D1 T4 P330" as a result. Since some games check the autoexec.bat for this information, you would add it like this: This only help for games and software that do not check the %BLASTER% environment variable. Sometimes using a WDM driver provides better results for SBlaster emulation. It seems to just depend on the games and audio chip. On one of my machines the VXD SBlaster emulation provides no sound at all, with Wolf3d. Where the WDM SBlaster emulation provides me with sound effects, digitized sound, but no music. I can use Wolfdosmpu/wolfmidi to get the music. But no other sounds, unless I set effects to PC Speaker. But it will lag unless I disable everything but music. The only way I have gotten everything to work, on that sound card, was by using VDMSound. There is an older version (1.3.3) of ECWolf that works fine with Win98. So you might consider that an option. However that only solves the issue for Wolf3d and SOD. I haven't tried using NTFS yet. I plan to, if I can't get Win98 reading Ext3 partitions. Hopefully someone with provide that info. If I get a chance, I'll format a pendrive and do some tests.1 point

Gee ! I thought you were older, like 40+. So everything is ahead of you ! Don't speed things up, all is going according to plan. And I got curious about sexuality in my early 10s. Maybe earlier. Got several girlfriends that obviously got old with time, whom I had to get rid of. Had to give them money to rent their own places, yes, I'm very kind. So don't be in a hurry, find someone much-much younger.1 point

I do appreciate the quiet time. I got curious about sexuality and relationships out-of-the blue in my early 20s. Hard to explain, it simply lingers at the back of my mind. Now nearing the end of my 20s, I have a job where I interact with customers remotely. Kinda lame when you think about the fact most of your interactions with other people are those work-related, impersonal, nothing fun or special. While on the other hand, I'm mostly still the same old me liking the same old solo activities as always. I'm fascinated by simple things couples do together, eg. going for a walk somewhere nice, mini-golf, watching TV etc.1 point

Fungi that cause serious lung infections are now found throughout the U.S Doctors should be on the lookout for the organisms, researchers say By Tina Hesman Saey JANUARY 4, 2023 AT 9:00 AM Three types of fungi that cause serious lung infections and were once thought to be confined to certain regions of the United States are now widespread. In 1955, Histoplasma fungi grew mainly in Midwest soil and in parts of the East and South, and that’s where histoplasmosis infections mainly occurred. But Medicare records from 2007 through 2016 indicate that 47 states and Washington, D.C., had cases of histoplasmosis above a certain threshold, researchers report November 11 in Clinical Infectious Diseases. These fungi are now “a lot more common than we think they are,” says Andrej Spec, an infectious diseases doctor and mycologist at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Doctors using maps from the 1950s and ’60s may fail to diagnose infections in patients who live outside of the fungi’s historical borders. Such missed or delayed diagnoses can have deadly consequences... Coccidioidomycosis cases, caused by Coccidioides fungi, have spread from their 1955 roots in the Southwest to 35 states, Medicare records indicate. Coccidioides includes fungi that cause valley fever (SN: 11/29/21). Wildfires have been linked to a rise in valley fever cases in recent years (SN: 4/13/21)... Like Histoplasma, Blastomyces was primarily found in the Midwest and East in 1955. But from 2007 through 2016, 40 states reported blastomycosis cases above a certain threshold, the researchers found.... Regarding the "likes" that seems to keep coming up. I would encourage my FRIENDS (they know who they are) to please please please not "focus" so heavily on "likes". Your life is NOT reduced to "likes" or "followers". The "psychology" behind thinking that way has been directly linked to teen suicides (and buried in inter-office board-room memos by very large social-media companies that live-and-die by "likes"). Please please please do not "focus" so heavily on "likes". Carry on, my FRIENDS. But I did want to throw that tidbit your way.1 point
