Maybe this same thing happened to our dear @XPerceniol... I'don't more see his likes under my postings since some days... for a week now... .. javascript website new problem maybe?......too on another forum: xpforums.com..... Yeah, these kinds of messages show when the server doesn't like something. Some web stuff, I guess if more attention was paid in that department during development, manages to show something went wrong message even when there's JavaScript compatibility issue, other just breaks without a friendly message and you only know when you check the console. You think? Well, what you posted...there's some genuinely disturbing stuff there...real stuff... I don't know, I can take some disturbing, at least in fiction. Prototype is an action-adventure. And since there's a virus turning people into monsters and killing/converting protagonist into dangerous being with super strength, that soundtrack is fitting. How about the horror genre, Amnesia: The Dark Descent - set in the Brennenburg castle. Unlike any castle you've visited IRL, if you did. Daniel chose to forget about the things he did, wanders around the castle while Shadow hunting him, experiencing flashbacks of the past, making his way to the Inner Sanctum, managing his sanity along the way, can't stay in the dark for too long, avoiding monsters by running away or hiding. It's deeper than I can describe in a forum post and accompanied by this masterpiece of a soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3A09022A1A1EFD86 Or what about Cry of Fear. These words from the beginning still linger at the back of my mind: There's a cheap jumpscare soon when after you're given control, but the rest, oh my, what a ride that game is. The portrayal of Simon's mind struggling with depression and anxiety, fueled by loneliness and worsened after the horrible accident leaving him in a wheelchair. It also touches the related heavy subjects such as self-harm and suicidal tendencies. 60 tracks, from calm to creepy and unsettling: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUhrsmUI1GsESC5H9r1W3o_N0NkHx2dtT I think boredom was the wrong word, it's not boredom most of the time unless few days during the year when there's not much work. It's just tedious, would prefer if I didn't have to do it or at least not as much. My batteries are drained at the end of the work day and there's never enough time to recharge. I don't know how others manage to do more active stuff outside of work. There was a period when I didn't go to school and didn't work, that was something else. Had the time to live at my own pace. They're talking about 30h work weeks, already practiced by some companies. Supposedly employees are happier overall. I don't know if it'll help me specifically, but maybe (the rest) us youngsters will live to see it. I used to have the energy for more creative endeavors before starting working for a living. Now maybe just smaller things from time to time, nothing like in the past like making sense of disassembled code to assemble patches for old games with bug fixes and such. Interesting read. I'd rather settle for a bit of boredom. He said he didn't use anti-viruses. Also didn't visit naughty sites. Speaking of which, sex sells, right? It wouldn't be in their interest to infect you, huh? On the other hand, yeah, bad actors get involved... Not sure I can link the article since it mentions one very popular such site. I guess that too, good to know. You posted two copies of them, though with the second one, there's some extra parameters in the underlying link. Hey my friend, no never boring, sorry you feel that way, I've just been trying to come up with something intelligent to say here and I've not been reading to much over at XP Forum. Yeah, I don't think they're boring. Coming up with something to say, let alone intelligent? That's something I've been struggling with for my whole existence, especially IRL.3 points

Damned they be! They plainly reject the UA sent by Serpent 52/55 ... Edit: It's the "Goanna/*" UA slice they really object to ... WT*? I bumped on another online dictionary service, https://www.collinsdictionary.com/ that also blocks UXP-based browsers: As in the case linked (ldoceonline.com), the part of the UA they object to is the "Goanna/*" slice ... Seeing the access to that last site is managed by CF, I expect more sites to become inaccessible in Goanna-based browsers if the block is a new CF-wide filter rather than a said-site specific configuration ... Perhaps Moonchild should contact CloudFlare regarding this?3 points

Hey my friend, no never boring, sorry you feel that way, I've just been trying to come up with something intelligent to say here and I've not been reading to much over at XP Forum. Tomorrow morning I play to try out a new linux distro (seems a bit lame but I'm burning DVDs I have on hands and using live sessions) and I want to catch up on peoples postings. Haaaa ... a monastery .... yeah. All is (sort of) ok, I guess.2 points

because your concurrent download sessions eats up all my server's bandwidth, I can unban this time but if it happens again I'll block it forever. BTW there are some Google Cloud IPv4 Class A blocks are blocked because of same reason.2 points

I'm using chrome 102 currently. So no, it's not java's fault, unless they made an update to the site again. XP forums, I'm not a member. The funny thing, I still can put likes on some other (certain) members.2 points

Autism breakthrough? What does it test? Heavy metals like mercury, lead and ALUMINUM… You draw your own conclusions… But as always, there are no coincidences anymore… What is autism? What does being autistic mean? Being autistic does not mean you have an illness or disease. It means your brain works in a different way from other people. It's something you're born with or first appears when you're very young. If you're autistic, you're autistic your whole life. Autism is not a medical condition with treatments or a 'cure'. But some people need support to help them with certain things. Autistic people may: find it hard to communicate and interact with other people find things like bright lights or loud noises overwhelming, stressful or uncomfortable find it hard to understand how other people think or feel get anxious or upset about unfamiliar situations and social events take longer to understand information do or think the same things over and over. Autism breakthrough as scientists create first-ever test that detects disorder in single strand of HAIR - and it's 81% accurate https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11606719/Scientists-create-test-autism-detects-disorder-single-strand-HAIR.html2 points

This is correct. From my perspective as well as Moonchild's perspective Moebius is completely dead. Moebius was the original attempt at building the UXP platform, but it was not possible to port Pale Moon easily to Moebius so the project was stopped. Firefox 55 also had many more Rust based components which was not desirable. At that point they decided to switch to Firefox 52 as the new foundation for UXP because there were less Rust-based components and it was actually possible to port Pale Moon to the Firefox 52 engine.2 points

I think typing in a CMD window the command libase chrome.dll is something everyone can do. No need to upload anything! All is described here. Easy and comprehensible. The phrase "spoon feeding" I learnt from @VistaLover, and he isn't a fan of it, either.1 point

Yeah! I totally forgot. It is generated automatically by libase. My fault! If another address is wanted, one has to use Rebase from Microsoft. @Anbima! So, any deleting in the file libase.ini is not needed and does not do anything, either. I used simply libase without any additional settings which presumably can't be made by libase. It is just an automatic tool and does everything by itself.1 point

No, but you could maybe post articles related to technology, as I am mainly interested in technology. I am not sure why you're concerned about moderators not reading your posts, it's up to them to read your posts or not.1 point

Those entries under [Generated bases], this part of INI is really just a log of what the program chose for rebased files. It's never read.1 point
-
Of course I wouldn't do that (and I never have). The point of my post was to show a free alternative to this download software.1 point
-
As I already wrote about that, this ini file seems to be universal, supporting all 360Chrome versions. You can delete the line "6da00000=CHROME_CHILD.DLL". This file doesn't exist in 360Chrome v13.5 build 1030. Do not change anything else!1 point

Fight for your rights until the end… In 2015, a father saved his son’s life when doctors wrongly declared him dead and took him off life support. He barricaded himself in the hospital and even armed himself with a gun, he then had a stand off with a swat team, until his son squeezed his hand. The son ended up making a full recovery… Tomball hospital stand off father speaks "Beautiful story..sorry he had to go to jail hospital should be charged too..anytime you are an organ donor they push it in situations like this. My friends son was under water unconscious 20 mins car accident...they told her he was brain dead and she would not give up on him she told them NO to taking him off..Its been a year..today he is alive and rehabbing getting better everyday!" "so the hospital staff was never charged with malpractice? how many more people did they improperly diagnose?"1 point

You're welcome! BTW, I already knew this thread. Unfortunately, there is no official forum, only this rather unofficial thread. As I wrote in my article, I do not regret the change. But you have to set many exclusions, because WiseVector StopX examines some programs very intensively, which leads to disturbances. Today, for example, I wanted to play some music videos in VLC, but unfortunately only with stuttering sound. I tried everything. I upgraded, downgraded and finally even completely reinstalled VLC. Nothing helped! Until I realised that WiseVector StopX was the culprit. I quickly made two exclusions and everything was ok again. Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

This will sound very weird, but can you try the one tagged for XP x64 bits? this come too late to my mind and the actual pref change has to be available in next build only. for those having urgent use may need to flip this switch by yourself. :)1 point

Correct, I've seen it for a few months. But the problem is there is never really a "final" v13.5. I kinda don't plan on updating build 2036 only for upstream to release another build weeks later. Not a fan of dog chasing its own tail with all of these "updates". It would be one thing if we could isolate actual WEB SITES that work in build 2036 but that do not work in build 2022 or build 1030.1 point

How to install Office 2013 on Vista 1- Have a copy of Office 2013 64-bit handy (The latest extended kernel is needed, x86 is useless) 2- Copy to the desktop in a new folder the root of your copy of Office 2013 3- Copy the ProPlus.WW.en-US folder to the desktop (the name may vary due to the language/edition of the copy), this is important since the Office installer detects the edited files and the installer of this folder needs to be edited. 4- In the folder copied to the desktop open ProPlus.WW.msi with Orca, go to InstallExecuteSequence and remove AbortMsi (it blocks the installation outside of setup.exe that verifies the files), then in Components change all Conditional VersionNT >= 601 by VersionNT >= 600. 5- Replace gdiplus.dll with the one from Windows 7, this is the path in the system: C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft.windows.gdiplus_6595b64144ccf1df_1.0.6002.19749_none_56a723b1b598503f\gdiplus.dll 6- In group policies of the local machine, it prohibits rollback (very important) 7- Create an osver.ini file with the following settings (required at all times when installing Office 2013): [global] MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=7600 8- Open ProPlus.WW.msi and after installation the Office 2013 suite should appear in the start menu, but it is not enough! 9- Go back to group policies and disable rollback, but keep osver.ini 10- In the root folder of Office 2013 the only change we will make is to delete the update or updates folder, they cause bugs when installed 11- Open the setup.exe of the normal Office 2013 installer and customize it to your liking (it should install successfully, if an error appears, reboot the system) 12- Open Word 2013 (it can be any program in the suite except Visio, Lync, InfoPath or Outlook) to configure Office 2013 13- The programs of the Office 2013 suite will need to be detected at all times as Windows 7 or an annoying Windows Installer dialog will appear configuring each time the program starts: [C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\EXCEL.EXE] Enabled=1 Win7SuperVerFix=1 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=7600 [C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\MSACCESS.exe] Enabled=1 Win7SuperVerFix=1 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=7600 [C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\MSPUB.exe] Enabled=1 Win7SuperVerFix=1 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=7600 [C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\ONENOTE.exe] Enabled=1 Win7SuperVerFix=1 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=7600 [C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\OUTLOOK.exe] Enabled=1 Win7SuperVerFix=1 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=7600 [C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\POWERPNT.exe] Enabled=1 Win7SuperVerFix=1 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=7600 [C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\WINWORD.exe] Enabled=1 Win7SuperVerFix=1 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=7600 14- ¡Enjoy Office 2013! SOMEONE BUGS 1- A large part of the office suite worked without problems, but there are programs that have some problem to solve: Outlook: won't start due to missing dependency on advapi32.dll (in future extended kernel updates this may be fixed) Lync: Stop responding... on welcome screen Infopath: Won't even open Visio: When creating a new drawing stops responding 2- It is impossible to activate it (at least there is no time bomb) 3- Can't login (maybe because of TLS) CONCLUSION We have partly killed the obsolescence imposed by M$ in Vista, which only received two versions of Office. Almost the entire suite works perfectly under Vista, except for Lync or InfoPath that I don't find useful, Outlook and the lack of dependencies in advapi32.dll. In the usual programs like Word, Excel or Powerpoint I can do anything without problems as if I were in Windows 7 or 8.1 point

I'm working on getting Office 2013 to work on Vista, I tried an old method to install Office 2007 on Windows 2000. I had to replace the gdiplus.dll that comes with Vista, with the one that comes with Windows 7. But I get a license error, I have only tried project, I have not tried visio or the complete suite (Word, Excel, etc). Then the office tools, such as the language configurator seem to work without any problem.1 point
