  9. I kind of learned long ago to keep my nose to the grindstone. https://www.bookbrowse.com/expressions/detail/index.cfm/expression_number/444/keep-your-nose-to-the-grindstone When working with a couple dozen coworkers per project, a different couple dozen coworkers on a different project, et cetera, there's "one in every crowd" that WILL take "jokes" or "sarcasm" OUT OF CONTEXT and turn an "ant hill into a mountain". So I've learned to STAY OUT OF THE FRAY and just keep doing MY JOB instead. I have coworkers that INSIST upon reading political news OUT LOUD and try to ENGAGE others in POLITICS at work! I just put the earbuds in or noise-cancelling headphones and YouTube to the Rescue - I do not engage in those topics at work, no matter how hard they try to reel me in. One of my funnest YouTube clips is this one and then leave the web browser on top of all other windows so that my coworkers can READ the lyrics -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfJhMfOPWdE I just remind them that I am "task-oriented" and non-work "tasks" on company time wastes too much of my time.

  10. Stupid people are good ! One can make profits. It's simpler to do business, easier to manipulate or create provocations. I noticed it became much easier to find a GF which is, let's say 30 years younger. Is it mandatory for you to have sex with someone who is a super-duper clever academic ? So why do you all sound so negative ? Look at the bright side ! It's life ... We are here to enjoy life, no ?

  13. Thanks, I tried to talk some sense into her. It didn't help. Still doesn't want to leave. She is quite good looking, so it's weird. She even does shopping for me. Her mother literally hates me and hated right from the start and wants her to leave me and live with her (quite some weird mother, even by the French standards!). She has a younger brother, a complete plonker who works at store or smth., a very low level job. He was kicked out of the university at the first year for his extreme stupidity and offensive behaviour. It's a half brother, actually, this would explain why he is even more stupid. Like the dude doesn't even know the Vietnam war is over, etc. He thought the Vietnam is still French. You should've seen the look on his "face" when I told him we left in the late fifties or so. Since then no communication with him, mother, I never saw her in person, father, don't know anything about him, apart they *think* he is a jew and loves money. I'm pretty sure this primitive kind of crap about decadent serfs is not interesting to you, lol.

I've found some thoughts for you on the web: Lesley Maxwell 9 DAYS AGO Symptoms of heavy metal toxicity: Tremors – Involuntary shaking of fingers or muscles. Headaches. Infertility for men or women. Mental “fogginess” feeling confused. Anxiety and depression. Deteriorating eye health. Memory problems. Poor kidney function. Intestinal and digestive problems. Tingling sensations and weakness in the hands, feet, and/or around the mouth. Poor immune function – recurrent infections or having an autoimmune disease." ..and another post: Lesley Maxwell 9 DAYS AGO "There are reports of heavy metal detox helping with various injuries, especially neurological. EDTA cream for example. Hope this will help somebody." Here: https://www.medscape.com/sites/public/covid-19/vaccine-insights/how-concerned-are-you-about-vaccine-related-adverse-events (allow viafoura.net in your uBlock!) Then these links (many more are on the web): 10 Signs You Have Heavy Metal Toxicity (And How to Detox): https://www.powerofpositivity.com/10-warning-signs-of-heavy-metal-toxicity-and-how-to-detox/ Here Are 10 Symptoms of Heavy Metal Toxicity “Heavy metal toxicity is more common than you think. The symptoms of heavy metal exposure range from headaches to constant fatigue. Depending on your level of exposure, you might suffer from serious diseases.” – Dr. Jay Davidson 1. Brain fog, which means having trouble focusing on things you were previously good at or having a poor memory. 2. Digestive problems such as IBS and diarrhea, heartburn and indigestion, as well as stomach acids. 3. Fatigue – both acute and chronic – that contributes to the aforementioned “brain fog.” 4. Chronic mental health problems. Those can include (but are not limited to) depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. 5. Migraines or headaches, both acute and chronic. This is normally one of the first symptoms people start to associate with heavy metal poisoning. 6. Nausea and stomach cramps, often ignored because they’re attributed to something else, like food poisoning or a painful menstrual cycle with women. 7. A blurry vision, or an inability to see as well as you had been before, either at a close or at a faraway distance. 8. Numbness, tingling, and paralysis in your arms and legs. Those are known as nervous system disorders. 9. A general feeling of upset and tiredness, an unwillingness to do anything the way you did before. 10. A difficulty breathing normally or choking – this is a serious symptom that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. All of these sound scary but you can still stay positive by considering what you can do to detox your body from the effects of heavy metals. Scientists suggest making a few key changes to your lifestyle to throw away all offending chemicals: here are a few things you can consider incorporating into your day. ... ... ..and: Can heavy metal toxicity lead to mental health problems like depression or anxiety? By Margaret Jasinska, Naturopath There is quite a bit of research to confirm that heavy metal toxicity can lead to mental health problems like depression or anxiety. This topic was highlighted by an article in the Courier Mail titled “Is there something in the water destroying Australia’s swimmers?” You can read the entire article here. Recent addiction problems among former Australian swimmers has prompted a female former professional swimmer (who wants to remain anonymous) to reveal her long term struggle with depression. She claims her depression was largely caused by copper toxicity, through overexposure to chlorine. ... ... 20. What exactly do you mean with "another stupid one"? Stupid in the meaning of less educated and intelligent? Or stupid enough to be with you although she knows that there won't be any future for this relationship? Stupidity has many facets and is not always easy to understand or decipher. BTW, we all are getting old. Unfortunately, no one of us is a "Highlander", presumably.

  25. Agreed ! And again, this is very good ! I didn't want anything serious and this was my goal. No serious relationship, no marriage, no children. What I was trying to say in the first post, when they were "clever" in the earlier years, it was harder to find, even when the age difference was much smaller. On the other hand, I still have a GF, which I rarely see now and want to get rid of, I give her only a tiny amount of money, like small (200Euro) presents on holidays. But she still won't leave me ! So what was her goal ? Looks like it's the opposite, she wants to be with me, even though I'm clearly *not* a sugar daddy. What should I do ? I mean she's getting old, I do not remember her exact age, only that she was born in November of 1996/97 (?). But that's a lot for a GF, no ? On the other hand, I'm lazy and don't want to put any efforts in a new one. I mean, I wouldn't not be lazy if I met a Frisian girl, but no such girls here. And I'm not sure if a Frisian one would even want to date a simple Frenchman who owns a big flat in a luxury city in an 18th (17th?) century house with a wood oven and a window AC in each room... Should I look for another stupid one ? Or leave it be as it is now ?

  26. Choosing a sexual partner 30 years older does not necessarily mean that a girl wants to have a relationship. And if she does, you're nothing but "Big Daddy" again protecting a little girl and spending money for it (for her protection). For that, you have to be "rich". And here we are again, a pronounced father complex.

  27. My Mother was slut but my dad was educated but suffered with mental illness himself, but did the best he could. Sorry, I don't agree - my teachers in the 70's 80's were all ideologist (right-wing) nuts and lucky I didn't commit suicide like others did when told we are "abnormal" and other words. I don't like extremist on either side and I wish education were just about learning rather than pushing their beliefs onto others children. Some sweat boys and girls hated themselves and didn't survive. Lucky, I saw it for 'what it was' an just played along and pretend until I graduated and then became a free thinker. Please no offense meant by that statement. Agreed 100% Fragmentation of the society can lead to fragmented and Fractured Psyche.

  29. I agree completely and I cleaned it up so as to not set that example to our youth with their whole life ahead of them and they should not be jaded. I'm sorry guys, I will try to follow my own words. I'm grateful believe it or not and humble and know it could be much MUCH worse so I count the blessings and it was YOU (somewhere) that told me to no pre worry and even my therapist said not to. I don't have an unkind bone in my body, I'm just hurt as you can tell, but I'm always ALWAYS kind to others, the person I'm unkind to is myself sad to say. I (obviously) need to work on the other 3 and mindful that its too easy to set a bad example. Remember, I said I didn't want to repeat the abusive behavior and continue the cycle, glad You helped me to catch it. You are a dear kind man @msfntor ... I'm trying to be more positive, but its becoming very hard.

  32. Stupidity is a very simple term for an extremely complex issue. Stupidity of a healthy person is the result of mainly three different components: Intelligence, knowledge (education) and experience. Each of these components can be simplified (if one does not consider gradations of the component states) as a Boolean variable that knows only two states: true or false, i.e. present or absent. Accordingly, one could examine (at least) eight different cases, but I will not do so here. In any case, stupidity has many facets and causes. We only have to look around in the world and see it everywhere. Sometimes it may be pleasant to encounter it, sometimes perhaps not. Stupidity is a disaster at the moment when tragic decisions for many people are born out of it. And tragically, this happens in the world all the time. So, beside his education, knowledge, intelligence and eloquence, Marcus Tullius Cicero was indeed a very good observer and extremely wise, and that ages ago. Anyway, a girl who chooses a man 30 years older as her sexual partner cannot be an example of stupidity per se, but rather of a pronounced father complex. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  44. I tried Legacy Update, and I liked it. It worked more or less equivalently to the normal WUv6, but the sidebar and header were different, and overall the sidebar's UI feels a little unpolished compared to the old WU one, and the header is a bit large compared to the original. Because this is an open source project, perhaps it's possible to modify the header and sidebar to make them look and feel more true to the original. For now, however, I'm quite satisfied with its performance as is; it's functional and gets the job done. I know this isn't strictly relevant here, but I wonder if the same techniques used could enable a version based on WUv4 for use with Windows 9x and ME (and also unupdated 2000 pre-SP3 and XP RTM)? I suspect that it would be fairly trivial to get the front end working since v4 and v6 are fairly similar, but getting the back end going would be harder; any WUv4 workalike would need to be redirected to some sort of 9x update archive, since the original servers were purged of them years ago, and likely aren't even online anymore. c

  46. @Tihiy I only use the taskbar, it works very well and is much better than the one that comes with w11, but there are a couple of things and bugs that should be improved and fixed :). There are two bugs with dynamic transparency mode: When File Explorer is maximized, the taskbar should be seen in only one segment, but you'll still see all three. On the desktop, when you click Start, the taskbar becomes a single segment, when the correct thing would be to continue seeing three. The corners of the segments look pixelated. If you look closely, it's not a screen resolution issue because the corners of the taskbar icons don't look pixelated. That straight line is not aesthetic at all, if you could round it as it does by default windows 11 it would look much better. So far I have not experienced any other problems. Not a single hitch or bug. It's amazing! Thanks, friend.

  48. The 3rd condition could be deleted -- I was stupid that a new profile could not suffice the condition 2. And I find a workaround. After checking the Issue #2019 at https://github.com/roytam1/UXP/commit/1392f5f223b960d6332f9230687afcd3e8e5276f , I spot a line I think relative: `+ pref("dom.keyboardevent.keypress.dispatch_non_printable_in_content", false);` about:config do not have that pref, so I manually add `dom.keyboardevent.keypress.dispatch_non_printable_in_content", true;` Then the delete and backspace key function again. p.s. Hope @roytam1 could make a fix according to my finding!

  49. Thanks for the flowers! The question mark though is a bit undefined and can be interpreted in different ways. Firstly, I am rather a batch than a JavaScript programmer if at all. Indeed, I created some custom buttons using JavaScript in the past. Reading reference manuals and using already existing code snippets was what I did to get the right code for a specific custom button. In some cases, I did it from scratch by myself, in others I used already existing code and modified it. One of my strengths! But frankly, far away from a good JavaScript programmer. Otherwise, I wouldn't post websites here that no longer work properly due to JavaScript problems, which no one really seems to be interested in, though. Secondly, as I posted in the previous browser thread https://msfn.org/board/topic/182647-my-browser-builds-part-3/?do=findComment&comment=1227973, I already created such a custom button. It toggles a boolean variable from true to false and vice versa in about:config. The status of this variable is shown by the button itself in the form of an image that changes its colour, i.e. its image accordingly. Actually, I created this button for a specific boolean variable, but it can work with any other if you change its code slightly. It works perfectly in New Moon 28 and probably also in other UXP browsers , but in Serpent 55, I really don't know. My custom buttons require the extension Custom Buttons, and I don't know if it is compatible with this browser. Truth be told, I never used Serpent 55 in the past. So I have to test that. Anyway, I will write a post about this custom button in my thread "Extensions and custom buttons for UXP browsers - Corrections, modifications, adjustments, and special recommendations" soon. So, stay tuned! And, this is the mentioned thread: Kind regards, AstroSkipper
