Support for installing Chromium extensions, saving their settings, as well as keeping cookies and other settings has been implemented: The original objective was to fix the "CultureNotSupported"-related exceptions that prevented .NET Core 5 from working, but under the belief that the .NET and Chromium issues were connected, I worked on solving the issue using Chromium. It turns out that .NET's issues are unrelated.8 points

I agree 100% - the hard work that went into these browser by our developers should not just become an afterthought. I still use arcticfoxie 360V11 and will continue to do so long as it works. V13 and 13.5 is still a great browser for those that have enough resources. Thank you @cmccaff1 and hopefully people won't just give up on Chrome for XP and these browser - I believe there is still work to be done, and perhaps they weren't advertised (pushed) enough or in the best way to get the attention of XP users. I always enjoyed limited conversations between myself and @NotHereToPlayGames, was always kind and helpful. A lot or hard work and passion went into development and we can't let that fade into irrelevance. I'm going to also post to see if our other del @Humming Owl is still with us, also. Take good care everyone and be well :)3 points

The other way around actually, they work but won't install as the installer became XP incompatible. 8u152 is the last with a working installer as you say, but versions up to 8u241 do work on XP if you do a rather tedious manual install process. 8u251 contains one XP incompatible file (sunmscapi.dll) which has to be replaced with the version from 8u241, but otherwise works. After 8u251 the file incompatibilities got so much worse it wasn't worth the trouble of trying to get it to work anymore!2 points

This is the version I have been using -- https://www.dropbox.com/s/0hh440tcbpmzb9y/360ChromePortable_13.0.2170_rebuild_1_ungoogled.zip?dl=0 I have found build 2170 to be more stable than build 2206.2 points

Well, I feel better now. I think mainly is that I seek and depend on a lot of approval and appreciation; without praise, acceptance, and constantly reminded of how important I am to someone, it tears me apart.2 points

All of these has been changed. For whatever reason the forum did not show me there were new posts in this thread so I didn't see the ones from May 7 until today.2 points

Quite similar to my prior posting on another thread - the hard work that went into these browsers by our developers should not just become an afterthought. I still use arcticfoxie 360V11 and DC Browser and will continue to do so long as they works. V13 and 13.5 is still a great browser for those that have enough resources. Thank you @cmccaff1 and hopefully people won't just give up on Chrome for XP and these browser - I believe there is still work to be done, and perhaps they weren't advertised (pushed) enough or in the best effective way to get the attention of XP users. I always enjoyed limited conversations between myself and @NotHereToPlayGames, was always kind and helpful. I also found @Humming Owl to be helpful beyond this topic in other areas when helping me with my HP Printer one time. A lot or hard work and passion went into development and we can't let that fade into irrelevance just like that. Take good care everyone and be well2 points

Sorry for the bump...I just wanted to post here to move this thread up again. It's been almost a month since the last post, and while the development on Mypal 68 has been very exciting to watch, NHTPG's 360 builds are still VERY much useful, and still run great in XP SP3. Hopefully I won't have to do this too often, but I would like this thread to be noticed and valued for as long as possible. Thank you again for your efforts, @NotHereToPlayGames!2 points

All those who are upset about GitHub and various other sites mass-breaking on the web due to the evil nullish coalescing and optional chaining operators: Please take a minute to provide a +1 and thumbs up to this community post, to indicate to GitHub that this is a serious matter for them to consider: https://github.com/github-community/community/discussions/209732 points

Following the release of final EOL java 7 (u352) today by Zulu, I've archived several Java runtime EOL (from Sun/Oracle/IBM/Zulu) from 1.3 to 1.7 here https://archive.org/details/jreplus In case someone interested in making all in one installer for windows xp... I think there is a specific post regarding XP Java 1,8 here as well here. One of way to switch version via default system java.exe is using argument: -version:[fullversion] which will resolve jre through registry to wanted version. So one could make java 8 default but via context menu one could run a jar using different jre or something like that.1 point

ooo ... is this an "update"? I'm happy to use it if you trust it. I see your builds of both versions here as: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ld5dz2uwdowf1cz/360ChromePortable_13.0.2206_rebuild_9_ungoogled.zip?dl=1 (last updated: Jan 11, 2022) 13.0.2206 is what you posted in the first page, so you trust 13.0.2107? Downgrade seems better? I (as you well know) have stuck by V11, but will try this out to see and report feedback. Glad to see you again.1 point

@AstroSkipper It's not buggy you need to add Window Title. Example of correct order. You find like 10.000 lines of code in XP2ESD, you can take many code examples there start /wait "SDI" "%~dp0SDIO.exe" Using CMDOW is bad, it's flagged as virus from like 2006. Use native VBS instead to run application silently. Invisible.vbs (accepts parameters too) ' Run hidden cmd with arguments Dim Args() ReDim Args(WScript.Arguments.Count - 1) For i = 0 To WScript.Arguments.Count - 1 Args(i) = """" & WScript.Arguments(i) & """" Next CreateObject("WScript.Shell").Run Join(Args), 0, True And then use it this way %WinDir%\System32\wscript.exe //nologo "invisible.vbs" "%~dp0apps\Cleanup.exe"1 point

Hi to all! Just a short update! Due to a tip from @cmalex about the correct use of the command START /WAIT I was able to solve my problem completely. Microsoft's documentation is flawed and misleading. I was very close to the solution, but I couldn't find the correct syntax of the command START /WAIT. This command is buggy, and its documentation, too. I wasted a lot of time in trying all combinations of this START /WAIT command. Thanks for that bug, Microsoft! Anyway, I modified the code of my batch file, and it works perfectly. No further need of a loop! No unnecessary background activity! Exact what I wanted to achieve! Therefore, no further solutions are necessary, the problem is solved. And once again, many thanks to @cmalex! You are an excellent programmer as far as I can tell! Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

As far as installing, the cab folder files can be edited to the upgraded files. If another operating system is in use on the machine then after the first install run the rLoew vxd's can be added from that other OS, I believe it should then work but I have not done so.1 point

The external 1TB could have uneven usage across the volume and thus there may be some areas of media that cannot be written to. If so it might be fixable but evolves a lot of correspondence talking about it. So what I would suggest is to install Paragon Partition Manager 6 and see if the drive is accessible without IO errors on your machine. With many files on the 1TB then it will take longer for explorer to open and display contents. Time taken will be also proportional to the machine's effective USB2 speed to that drive. With Paragon Partition Manager there is Partition Explorer which enables exporting of files. Remember if the 1TB is of GPT formation then it will not be accessible. Latest Paragon has a free non-commercial use software which will convert disks From MBR to GPT.1 point

I'm waiting for the new release with Chromium Fixed! There's another curious thing about Chromium and don't know if it was fixed. I'm talking about some pages wich directly crash sometimes, as an example, web.skype.com. Apparently, notifications aren't properly working (I'm talking about Push notifications). I'll make some tests with Windows 7, I just know that it's working fine on Windows 10. Maybe is necessary some wrapers to forward chrome notifications as system notifications so it would appear as it appears in Windows 10.1 point

Greetings. No. They do the same and don't depend on each other. ProxHTTPSProxy.exe is a dummy exe from PIP ("Lib\site-packages\pip\_vendor\distlib\t32.exe") + something name "shebang" ("#!./python.exe") + zip-archive of __main__.py with just one string - "import ProxHTTPSProxy". I find something. It must call "on_exit" function then window closed. I'll try to integrate it. import win32api import time def on_exit(signal_type): print('caught signal:', str(signal_type)) time.sleep(1) for i in range(1,5): print (6-i) time.sleep(1) win32api.SetConsoleCtrlHandler(on_exit, True) time.sleep(30) Privoxy? I'd something like it... But why did I abandon it and not use it? I don't remember... Do You know how to test it and get it to work? https://mega.nz/file/Hk1mQL6L#hag3q96mhhvlHqPd7gxwNQY2pjcCqq-Ce3aRJSYLi34 - package (minimal set of files to launch) https://mega.nz/file/fwMDCJoJ#3JPVB33oAiBQ5fTLqVhuk1XfkfXXWndlDVA6iv8Yh50 - full copy of dev folder. Best regards.1 point

I performed a +1 and a thunbs up to support your call. I personally hate all unnecessary changes breaking websites which worked in the past. Just to be a bit "modern"!1 point

@WinWord2000 Make a try with this driver. It is made for Dell Inspiron 5040 Dietmar https://ufile.io/en8jr8qu or this one https://ufile.io/1sqer3od1 point

My fix: make text before numbers shorter. Example: "Very long information about memory:" replace by "Memory info". If you will share files with this string I will fix it.1 point

That's cool work you got right here, buddy. Awesome work. I liked it.1 point

@WinWord2000 If you can get me a copy of the driver I can check if the .sys file has it's dependencies met by the ntoskrnl extender. If dependencies are met That'll give you basic sound output at least. The bundled software still won't work though.1 point

There are drivers listed here which claim to be XP compatible. Don't get your hopes up too much though as very often I've found that supposedly XP compatible drivers on sites like that are not actually compatible at all.1 point

Yes, that's the website I located a copy of v16.26.1 point
