Oh, I see. I should add more details. I want to build program for Windows XP, 7... If it will not work on Windows 10/11, I don't care. General feature is small size. I have source code. I need editor features to find mistypes, fix source code. Then build. Source code is old, no modern features. If you know good program from 2009-... for my task, it wil be okay. I'm planning nothing serious right now. Just many small old source codes. I found Dev C++. Will try.

All Qt 6+ software with extremely high percent will not work on Windows 7, because I have seen only developers who does very strange things. Example. I strongly recommend to not spent time for their pieces of bad code. Try to search software without Qt and to talk with their developer. Qt is a cancer. If you need an app for Windows only, you can start to practise on C/C++/C#/Go... and Win API. You will get more lightweight software finally. P.S. I spent to much time to communicate with developers who using Qt to create apps. It's abbyss. P.P.S. Creating app for Windows XP it will work on Windows 7 too.

I got request for d3d12.dll from some software (some messgenger :lol:) based on Qt 6 (I do not recommend to use Qt to create software) when tried to launch on Windows 7. I really think that just developer does wrong things. Sample how to use D3D12 on Windows 7 (D3D12on7) and porting DirectX 12 games on Windows 7. Well, I just will delete this piece of bad code. That messenger does not work because want to know DPI and no other way. Trash app.

What about Vulkan API on Windows XP? Did you see D8VK, D9VK and DXVK?

@Asp this CPU and amount of RAM are not actual issues for Windows XP users. I mean that I guess you will work on this configuration without problem. P.S. Intel 3xxx series is not new CPU. Even for Windows XP. We publish many information around the web. I recommend to search in the web before in future, because search is good way to find people who researchs your issue exactly.

GT 710? Why? This is a weak graphic card. GTX 750 or higher are interesting.

I want to share some parts of my project of Matrix client. I hoped that I will have a free time to create this, but did not. 1. An official Matrix client for Windows is Javasctipt code in Electron. 2. An official Matrix team uses Typescript then makes Javascipt code. I see that we should reject from Typesctipt and write an JS code directs. Unfortunatelly, they makes JS code unreadable. The first step is get JS ready-to-use code where all variable names are saved. 3. There are some browsers for Windows XP. We can use it instead Electron framework. These browsers like Mypal 68 works even better than Firefox 102. The official Element web version is JS fully, so any browser will compete this. We just compile browser as desktop client. The way to create an client as new software, without js is preferrable. But the method above is a possible alternative.
