  2. @genieautravail If 5 users will gether, okey next version will have SSE. What doesn't suit your already existing version, because new version is more bloated and likely has new errors. @AstroSkipper What about other things or this is happens only with Adguard, soon I shall make testing on P4 single core, @AstroSkipper@NotHereToPlayGames Multiprocess is not about cpu cores. Windows OS multiprocess itself since 1993 I think, and Intel 386 the first CPU which supports multiprocess. Also Firefox is not like Chrome here, they try be it latter at 100's, I think making every piece on the separate process is overkill. In general mp is good for performance, and stability too. If you have ar least 2gb ram prefer stay mp. Furthermore POSready updates installed everywhere on my side, never heard about issues with this.

  4. REASON I think I have found the reason why the BIOS updates only supported hard drives aligned to 2048 and the error NTLDR is missing aligned to 63 occurred. And the cause is the usual one on slot 1 motherboards "a RAM memory bad contact". I was having more and more problems, hard drives when starting Windows that sometimes wouldn't read a file and finally the Windows CD-ROM said it wouldn't read a file when booting. Curiously, once Windows started, there were no problems, only files were missing from the boot. The BIOS said that I had 392 MiB RAM, but I removed and cleaned the SD-RAM modules and it turned out that I have 512 MiB RAM. Now the disks aligned to sector 63 are read, well except for a Seagate 40 GB that does not boot at either 63 or 2048. The funny thing is that it does boot if I first detect in the BIOS a Seagate with 20 GB and change the hard drive without updating information. In any case, the latest BIOS update v3.08 continues to cause several start attempts on all hard drives when resetting the system. Which v3.07 doesn't do. The problem is that only v3.08 supports hard drives with +32GB. In conclusion, this motherboard is very very problematic as a whole.

  6. Memory read error has to do with a program trying to read outside of what is allowed for it in the OS. It is not a physical error in the hardware. It's a common fault. Usually memory errors proceed silently because there is no mechanism for detecting them, or the PC would hang. I went to github.com using New Moon and tried to sign up or log in. I was presented with an unbelieveably resource intensive screen of flying through a starfield and a greeting appearing one letter a time as if being typed by a person. It should be just an ordinary login prompt. That design might fit an "art gallery" or a music album, not a site for programming. It was unusable on a Core 2 Duo. But when I opened the page in Opium, expecting it to go a bit faster, I got none of the animations. The login box had the same design, but appeared instantly.
  7. Dietmar knows how to switch properly from Standard PC to ACPI. @Dietmar can you show him how you did this?
  8. R545 and later no longer work on 1607. I've tried modifying R545 and R550 by overwriting OS version in nvlddmkm.sys, but only got error code 37. Now I am using 538.49. Because 1607 is too old to support latest DX12, I can't start Persona 3 Reload on Steam. So I have to use vkd3d-proton 2.12 and dxvk 2.2 to start the game. However, I can access digital art book and OST without converting to Vulkan. I think the game crashed because 1607 does not support ray tracing. Besides, latest OBS Studio 30.1.2 no longer works on 1607.
  9. I'm keeping it. I will *not* be keeping any Supermium builds - at least not yet, I'll try future builds, but none to date will work on my system - NONE. While real hardware is the goal here, tyr Supermium in a VM. Not sure why it should matter, but it does! Run Supermium in a VM and you WILL throw your computer out the window, throw the keyboard out right behind it, flush your mouse down the toilet, and take your printer outside and hit it with a baseball bat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9wsjroVlu8

  11. They gave me a double penalty for posting a link to a browser compatible with Windows 7 that supposedly had pirated content. They told me it was permanent, but now I don't see it on my profile. It doesn't let me put some links to the forum but it does let me put some links outside the forum I think.
  12. I have inserted another hard drive with a XP portable with ACPI installed. Now, with the original BIOS old version the BSOD 0xA5 with the message "ACPI not fully supported" occurs, so I updated the BIOS and now the system boots correctly. So the computer is compatible with ACPI. On the original hard drive I think the problem is that the ACPI.sys driver is not installed. It does not appear in the XP boot process even though I have changed the HAL to ACPI. So I conclude that in a original Standard PC installation it is not possible to change to HAL ACPI. Do you know if there is a way to install ACPI.SYS on a Standard PC installation? (then I would change the HAL files)
  13. Ok, maybe I'll keep Thorium on my system then, so it appears to be compared to 114? Or I think you said it behaves such as to reflect this? Just want to make clear - this isn't stressing me or upsetting me - I quite enjoy testing new browsers.

  15. The latest beta build as of now (April 22nd) still works on 7!
  16. Just a quick question: Do you guys think rebasing the dlls would help much? And if so, is the command line still like it was for 360 Chrome - rebase.exe -b 10040000? Thank you I really don't know what the heck I'm doing most of the time and largely going by faulty memory and a very long time ago (and I'm not talking about computer memory either) EDIT: I'm currently using Rebase V6.0.6001.17129 (longhorn.080104-1910)
  17. Thank you, that seems to have largely fixed the incorrect font on the Digital Spy forum site! It does look as if some of the site is still wrong though, like the 'Sky' header here, which looks as if it's still in the wrong font. All the rest looks now correct. Is that perhaps because it's a larger size?
  18. Thanks for testing! Even if you try to force Mypal 68.14.0b being executed on only one core of your 64-bit multi-core CPU, it is probably not the same as a real 32-bit single-core CPU. Or what do you think?
  19. No idea, but I didn't manage to reproduce on my machine, I tried forcing Mypal 68.14.0b on single-core, kept multi-process enabled, couldn't break uBO 1.57.2.
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR4VCf_J338 Interesting, and there's me taping the old phone together.
  21. For to overcome my ultraslow IDE HD with 7 (!) MByte/s I bought this adapter https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00EOJNGC2?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image So, from tomorrow starts fun, because this adapter works also with SSD and 6 Gbit/s Dietmar
  22. Sorry for the senseless bump, but I'm a bit anxious about the day the trusty old Xperia E3 breaks, it's already banged up somewhat since clumsiness is in my crappy genes...think I've improved slightly in the course of the last decade, but the damage is done, mostly just the case and damaged camera lens (another even more stupid accident that at least wasn't entirely my fault) which I eventually recently lost...had it taped on (didn't retape in time) so at least there was some hard cover on when camera wasn't in use, I don't use the camera for anything interesting... I don't know, I just like my old stuff. If I could go back in time and get the old one as factory new... At workplace for work stuff, my department got smartphones recently, Samsung Galaxy A15. I think I'd rather have another old banged up Xperia than one of these modern bricks for personal use. I know software support is going bye-bye one by one...ugh... Wish I had the idea what to get when the day comes. Did you order it directly from https://shop.cubot.net/?

  24. @jacer4 Here is the new link for this file, good luck Dietmar https://ufile.io/p07xouxv
  25. Thanks I had this registry key before (that you gave me quite a while ago), but it did this (large tooltip) https://msfn.org/board/topic/183013-startallback-for-windows-11/?do=findComment&comment=1262105 Possible to have the default Windows font and not have the larger tooltips ? Thanks so much PS : I could test with 0 and 1 otherwise
