My main reason for going to 126 was that my understanding is that it's an ESR version, which will hopefully not actually need to be updated due to site compatibility issues until sometime next year.
I will only update it if a new facility that I really want is added, or a really major serious security flaw is patched.

Does Supermium have built-in certificates?

... Yes; since v105, Chromium comes with its own Cert Store, making it on par with the Mozilla family of browsers (i.e. Firefox); a few related articles returned by a simple G-search:

In Chrome 105, Chrome began a platform-by-platform transition from relying on the host operating system’s Root Store to its own on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Linux, and Android. This change makes Chrome more secure and promotes consistent user and developer experiences across platforms

In fact, latest Supermium v126-r5 comes with an internal flag (#cert-management-v2-ui) which, when enabled (and browser relaunched), provides GUI access (by the user) to the Cert Store itself via internal page "chrome://settings/certificates"

This is a very limited list, I always get errors upon visiting Let's Encrypt Authority X3 R3 sites;

Supermium seems to work well and stable. It will complement New Moon for me.

I wish the author can implement a normal Settings window with checkboxes because scrolling through those flags on a white hospital wall is overwhelming. There is a lot of stuff to disable, all the security crap and bypassing of my DNS.

Can we customize the interface to get rid useless toolbar buttons like Enable Experiments and You? How do you get certificates into Supermium? There is no import button like in old browsers. Do you need to reinstall a new version?

It seems I can disable most of the Secure Preferences to share a profile between two Windows "Disable machine ID". So far I have noticed settings disappearing like in Opera when not in portable mode.

How do you prevent the Translation prompt from popping up all the time when the page is in English already? I want to have the option to translate when I click a button, but not the floating toolbar pestering me about it.

The Ungoogled mode is not useful because then I can't access search from anywhere on the UI, nor add Google myself in the UI.

chrome://flags

Chrome Labs - Disabled

Hide SidePanel Button - Enabled

Show avatar/people/profile button - Never

I see now where those buttons can be disabled. I went over the Flags, but got lost in that long list.

Some Cookies don't seem to get transferred when I copy the browser into new Windows. When I open Google there, I always need to accept cookies. He forgets that I did that.

Supermium got mentioned by Micro$oft:

Fixed: A web browser such as the Supremium web browser might crash or not start after installing the November 12, 2024, Windows update KB5046705.

I thought their typo ("Supremium") is actually a better name than Supermium! Seems to roll off the tongue a little more easily since "supreme" and "premium" are both common English words.

Speaking of Supermium  --  I was able to log into my bank yesterday with Supermium.  :cheerleader:

BUT...

Today, I was scrolling through the settings and flags and whatnot, and while I cannot prove this to be the "why", but I disabled client hints, attempted to log into my bank again, it was UNSUCCESSFUL, so I enabled client hints, but still cannot log in!

My only theory (coupled with users of Official Ungoogled and Official Brave) is that I now just server-side-blacklisted Supermium for my bank login.  :realmad:

Jesus you got some ultra strict banks. We have one bank like that here, but only one that I know of.

Is there an equivalent to the Open With menu in New Moon, where you can launch a media player or youtube-dl on a hyperlink? Without that, New Moon must still be the main browser.

Not just banks.  Been having issues with other logins as well (US Postal Service is one, I have a list somewhere).

IceCat (based on Firefox v115) is also NOT working for several of my must-have--no-alternatives web sites.  :realmad:

So I've just sold my soul!

CAN get ALL of my must-have web sites to work with OFFICIAL CHROME v97 !!!  (v94 also works!)

They "don't like" me running Ungoogled v122 (v130 also does NOT work for my bank) and they think that's going to get me to "upgrade".

Nah!  I'll now have to see how long Official Chrome v97 lasts me, lol.

I swear, keeping up with browser upgrades has become a FULL TIME JOB.

This I assume at work.

I have an academic curiosity.
Why not use the latest version?

If you have problems with “Google World” you could edit the Windows Hosts file by inserting this list:

https://github.com/nickspaargaren/no-google?tab=readme-ov-file

List raw:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nickspaargaren/no-google/master/google-domains

You can also subscribe to the filter list in uBlock Origin.

At work, I already have to use Official Chrome.  We can only use Official Edge (corporate default) or Official Chrome at work (unless a lab bench).

At home, my list of 8 to 15 or so "problem sites" only only ONLY all work in OFFICIAL CHROME.  (I was quite suprised that I could drop all the way down to v94 [didn't try older]).

They USED TO all work in Official Ungoogled.  They USED TO all work in 360Chrome v13.5.  They USED TO all work in Official Pale Moon.  They USED TO all work in Mypal/New Moon/Serpent.

I really really really REALLY REALLY REALLY will only use ONE web browser.  I really really really have NO INTEREST in "this browser for this, that browser for that".

Why not use the latest?  Because I have an IMMENSE DISLIKE for the "modern GUI".

One size never fits all.  That's why there are HUNDREDS of different browsers, abides by the whole "to each their own".

And let's face it, even history demonstrates how GUI changes can downright kill something like Firefox.  Pre-Quantum/Photon market share was around 10%.  Post-Quantum/Photon market share is an abysmal 2-3%.
