  1. There isn't.There's got to be a reason someone here is crying hoarse that VPC is a toy used mostly by fascinated n00bs. Sooner or later they move on to VMware. And that is the only solution even now.
  2. Looks great SimonSays! Now that close button on top-right is still a hindrance...
  3. There's no way to do this, unless you're looking at WinPE. The standard setup knows only 2 things: a. to install on the first primary partition whether another OS is there or not (messy) b. to remove all partitions and make a new one and install on it
  4. Now if only you mentioned what you *DO* use, it would be easier....
  5. You get utilities specifically for this.... it will go in and change the timer clocking so as to increase frequency of the processor. As is obvious: Means that you better not do any of this yourself....
  6. Yes - make 4 boot folders (PRO2, HOM2, etc.) and add winnt.sif there. Just as always it will look into the folder specified by setupsourcepath and run the unattended smoothly.
  7. It is not an EXE in the true sense.... Its a RARred-up SFX.
  8. I had said that the file-system switch in the new updated guide be changed to "-j1" (because its the best one of the lot). But it wasn't done - and now see the problems its absence is causing.
  9. hmm.... ddshadow, are you sure that by distributing this file no law or agreement is being broken?
  10. hmm..... ain't this so weird actually, BeenThereB4?We go to tech sites where its expected that everyone would keep up the correct behaviour but still arguments explode between intelligent people! Oh well, make efforts to keep the community feeling postive here guys. And to astalavista, PLEASE don't go and edit old posts when it shows you in poor light - because people will think "changing what you said" is childish behaviour.
  11. raza, lets get it clear - you want to add "control userpasswords2" to the control panel ? ;----- Adds Userpasswords2 to control panel ;----- [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}] @="User Accounts 2" InfoTip"="Starts The Windows 2000 style User Accounts dialog" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}\DefaultIcon] @="%SystemRoot%\\\\System32\\\\nusrmgr.cpl,1" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}\Shell\Open\command] @="Control Userpasswords2" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\{98641F47-8C25-4936-BEE4-C2CE1298969D}] @="Add Userpasswords2 to Control Panel"This was in the registry tweaks topic. Combine this tweak with the one one to cascade Control Panel from start menu - and you'll have good manageability in the menus (Start >> Control Panel >> User Accounts 2).
  12. There was another bug-report about this same thing as well, Dobby. When you find out what was causing this, do tell us. And tested for the above bug on firefox 1.0, and mozilla 1.7.5, and K-meleon 0.9 (all based on somewhat same core). Its not being reproduced - so problem has to be something else....
  13. Yup. And that was what makes it look like you haven't used it (or not much atleast) - which explains that remark....But well, it simply is an amazing lot of features that the opera suite packs into itself by default. Its a browser that "grows" on you (kinda'). As you use it more, you find out more about it. And despite all the "growth" its memory usage is still so less that even a machine with 16 MB RAM is happy to have opera. To be honest, just take a look at this post - LINK - and tell me how many extensions firefox will need before it touches (what is for me) the minimal functionality found in opera. And of course, you can equally just as well go trigger happy and get lot of add-ons for opera. But the emphasis is on what I get at a minimum with one and the other.... Hmm well, since you would rather choose firefox, what was the reason you bought opera (and that too, in bulk!) ?
  14. Please mention source always... Direct download from MS: http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/b...rolpanel_21.exe This download was found on this page - http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/faq/default.aspx.
  15. You're right mate! This is just about the comparative merits, with no external factors brought into play. Your will has been done! Its now a different thread, and is on-topic, lol. Oops there, epic.Despite accepting that you may not have personally used it, it appears you missed ALL the major comparisons that mention that the 3 main browser engines (as far as win32 platform goes) are IE, mozilla, and opera. No, both use totally different engines - mozilla (and derivatives like firefox) uses the gecko rendering base, and opera has its own opera engine.
  16. All off-topic posts split out to this thread to make it on-topic! Yeehaw! rock on....
  17. Astalavista, I absolutely don't see how posting that link is helpful in answering his question. Haha.... great sense of humour there. But well, its quite difficult despite all those guides. If you'd rather do it easier, you can check out nLite. Yep. That's what I do - I hate to see itsy-bitsy files spread all across 15 folders....A note of caution - put together the correct set in a single folder. You know what i mean... if there's a win95 and win2k agpgart, choose only the win2k files. This one is easily set from the winnt.sif file (unattended answer file). The [Display] block is what you're looking for, see this page for info - LINK. Oh man.... I love nVidia precisely for this. You need to do nothing more than have that folder listed in the OEMpnpDriversPath (as you already have, I guess). Don't worry about multiple INFs, dual view, desktop manager, tray icon, and all those.... Driver detection will automatically install all that if setup detects an nVidia card present on the system. What files can you eliminate from the package? I deleted approx 5 MB of files - 8 files I guess, all named *setup*.* (file name). One caution - use the official (signed, WHQL) drivers, otherwise if you use the latest beta driver just for greed, you will see it doesn't work. All of these which I'm saying are just pointers to info... you'd have to take a look around the forum and read up about it. And why am I not giving all info here? Because all those questions are already having answers - typing it all up again is tiring. I hope this helps in some way at least, and sets you on your way. Do post back with any other questions you may have, and whether it all worked out successfully. Have fun!
  18. soulin, the obstacle to WUS being used in non-large networks, is that it has to be a service running off a non-Primary AD server. So effectively, you should have one for AD services, and a secondary one hosting WUS. We could afford it, but not everybody.... Also, the WUS host will only run off a Win2k server or WS2k3 server OS.
  19. Oh yeah? Then I got to be the holy angel here. Check the "test passage" function - it says my name is 1% evil and 99% good, and no one is perfect, so.....
  20. Exactly! You have hit it on the head. Well, there are good apps for this - but most are meant for far larger cyber cafe's or those that operate on franchise basis (with integrated member logins) across the country. And needless to say, these apps are quite expensive. And commercial establishments seriously should stay away from unlicensed usage of any kind.
  21. @Astalavista Please don't quote entire posts - quote only the part which you are referring to. Read the link to forum etiquette in my sig - everybody is expected to follow it. @S0mE0nesMiNd1 Please do not make comments that could anger others - we don't want to see flaming here.
  22. ****! Things are getting too complex around here because of a handful who won't play by the rules... GM's XPCREATE, BtS driver-packs (both difficult to download), and now XPlode? EEK! Notice to all: Also, please post XPlode related questions in the XPlode forum, so that handicaps of the sort witnessed above don't happen again. Atleast if you post there, inappropriate posts can be taken care of by Wraith himself. Now I guess this topic has no purpose anymore, but I don't believe in closing topics indiscriminately, so....
  23. This theme looks fine, but the main point of royale is lost.... The main reason royale was appreciated was it allowed you to use it without hacking your uxteme.dll - because it was signed. Now, is this pack going to have something similar?
  24. sorry was a missing word there.
