  1. They should just throw a few supercars in, a new mode - point2point races (Midnite club 2 style), a track maker (!!!!) where you simply have a map and you click at each intersection and the track follows where you click and RELEASE AN EXPANSION PACK!!! PLEASE EA, if youre reading this, MAKE NFSU2 BETTER!!! So much has not been adressed... pffft, wat do they care... im just a customer.... theyre busy taking over the world and s***...
  2. XBOX is crap.. I ain't no fanboy either.. I just hate xbox.. It's ridiculous. A family of four fits inside!! Look at this! http://hamstarsdld.tripod.com/unfair.html
  3. Well, yeah thats what I thought, but they could have made some kind of generic mesh, maybe... or maybe the developers could have just chosen something predefined, like, a boxmesh that sits on the model of the car with points that the bodykits etc adhere to. Theres what? 26 models in nfsu2? at least one bodykit should fit the car a developer decides to make. Still, theres no excuse not to add other mods. New paint just doesnt cut the mustard I'm afraid... They need to have used a more open standard, but they've been using this engine since, NFS:HP2 I think.. Imagine "LSD Mode" where you drift your way around the city in freerun mode... The amount of stuff people could have made would have been limited only to the imagination of at least 2 million modders... (8.5 million copies sold worldwide) Hell, they dont even have config files. I wanna drift around the city dammit... I want a new city dammit!!! Are there any patches that give more to the game? I just tried changing the drift and free roam file around but it didnt work oh the fun to be had, but no way to get there...
  4. OK, what the hell... as if Microsoft couldn't dream up a more complicated way to slipstream SATA drivers... I have followed many a guide, looked at many a thread on this, however there are almost no guides on how to slipstream VIA SATA drivers (because everyones hooked on intel) so I have just managed to throw mine together using the guides for other drivers, and then even those guides have missed things out. I tried to follow the guide at http://unattended.msfn.org/ but even that is incomplete. Before I ramble on anymore I'll tell you my specs. Athlon 2600+ 512MB DDR333 ASUS A7V600 The chipset is VIA KT600 The OS is Windows 2000 Heres my files, the parts that matter anyway: winnt.sif [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=Yes OemPnPDriversPath="drivers\VIARAID;drivers\000_chipset; drivers\001_lan;drivers\002_gfx;drivers\004_sound; drivers\005_modem;drivers\006_usb;drivers\VIARAID" [MassStorageDrivers] "VIA Serial ATA RAID Controller(Windows 2000)" = "OEM" "IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/PCI IDE Controller" = "RETAIL" [OEMBootFiles] TXTSETUP.OEM VIASRAID.INF viasraid.cat viasraid.sys Interestingly, there is no TXTSETUP.OEM file in any folder yet it throws and error about it saying File TXTSETUP.OEM caused an unexpected error (18) at line 1044 in D:\nt\private\ntos\boot\setup\oemdisc.c during the setup which is strange. You can also see that I keep my drivers in $OEM$\drivers\00x_[driver]\ apart from the SATA one which is just $OEM$\drivers\VIARAID. txtsetup.sif [SourceDisksFiles] viasraid.sys = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1 [HardwareIdsDatabase] PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149 = "VIA" [SCSI.load] VIARAID_VT3149_2K = viasraid.sys, 4 [scsi] VIARAID_VT3149_2K = "VIA Serial ATA RAID Controller(Windows 2000)",VT8237 And I also did the MAKECAB thing on viasraid.sys and the file viasraid.sy_ is in the i386 folder. So after all that, and throwing that error at setup, it lets me continue, only to tell me that the MassStorageDevice driver is corrupt... from which point I can only press F3 to quit setup. Is this that stupid stupid WHQL Driver Signing TCPA bullsh1t biting me in the @ss? Anyway, if anyone could help me sort through this mess, that would be great. If I've made a really simple mistake, and a fool of myself then let this be a guide to the other 1 person that likes Socket A. Long Live AMD!!!!!!!1one
  5. I finished NFSU2 a while ago, and I think the replayability on it is crap... I mean, even the game itself isn't that fun. What we need is Mods... I've searched the internet high and low for mods for it but it seems that EA's system is to close knit and proprietry. Which sucks. How cool would NFSU2 be if it had mods? It would last so much longer. Think about it: Make your own, or download cars to put in the game, like GTA. New Maps Non-linear checkpoint races (Midnight Club 2) Gameplay alterations, such as more computer players joining in your outrun when they see you. It could be so much cooler, so why haven't they opened the game up to modders? They did with BF1942. Maybe no one would buy NFSU3 if they were still happy playing NFSU2, but I doubt it... everyone pirates the games anyway... bad EA...
  6. i have it set to ignore... stupid TCPA....
  7. Yeah might do eh... Awesome... I got ya... Oh true... so it is... when I tested it, it must not have come up the right res becos the nvidia drivers didnt install properly... Oh thats wicked... but does it still have to be WHQL if I have driver signing turned off...? Yep I understand... It does indeed, that clears up pritty much all my problems... just gotta test it again... Cheers for all your help, hamstar
  8. I set the thing in winnt.sif that says: [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 SystemLocale=00001409 UserLocale=00001409 InputLocale=1409:00000409 to be for New Zealand... but then, when I boot into windows I have that annoyign language bar appear... from which I delete the default created US entry and tell the language bar to go away forever in less words... Any idea how I can kill the US entry this side of the first run? Cheers hamstar
  9. Hey guys hows it going... First of all, I'm using Windows 2000 with sp4 slipstreamed. Nvidia: I was just wondering what parts of the nvidia drivers package I need... I have the package unzipped and atm, all the files are in 002_gfx ... Theres an nv4_disp.inf and an nv4disp2.inf file. Will setup pick up only one? Also how can I install dualview at this point... as in 003_tvout? And the other thing is, will the desktop manager, and tray icon etc be installed by the inf file or will I have to run the setup? Also, I would very much like to set 1024x768x32@85hz when I boot into windows the first time... is this possible via registry or will I just have to do it manually? VIA 4in1: I know where all the drivers are for this once unzipped. But, can I simply chuck all the inf's etc from the different parts (agpgart, ide, etc) into the same folder and point the winnt.sif file to the folder? Or do they have to be separate? I have to slipstream my raid/sata in too, but theres enuff guides on that around to sink a battleship Cheers hamstar
  10. Hi guys, I tried searching the forums for this but couldn't find it so heres my problem... I have Windows 2000... I downloaded RunOnceEx.cmd creator and gave it a test run, however it didnt look that promising... Then I saw the guide for it on unattended.msfn and figured out what it was... Now I really wanna use it however my windows doesn't know what the REG command is... I tried typing REG ADD /? at the command prompt like it said on ua.msfn but it just spurlts out the regular msdos error message: So, I'm stumped... the only thing I can think of is that it's a file I have to download like pkzip or cmdow... If it is, can someone tell me where I can get it from. Cheers, Hamstar
  11. Im an unattended install n00b... Followed a guide on pcstats to burn me a cd, But when I boot the cd, it doesn't give me any option of where to install, or any partitioning options... Repartition isn't in the winnt.sif file, so I assume its set to no because it didnt format my drive... Also it only installed one set of drivers.... but I think thats cos i put spaces in, like this: OEMblah="drivers\modem; drivers\lan; drivers\gfx" Yeah.... Anyone know how to remedy this? Cheers hamstar
  12. OK, Did a bit of reading... Saw that you have to use cmdlines.txt or some crap, cant be bothered doing that, so my question now is.... oh... the same... can i slipstream hotfixes and dx9 into the install like i have already done with SP4 (win2k)?
  13. Namely, I did: update -u -n -o -z -q -s:D:\bootcd\working under which no window showed itself... dxsetup -z -q -s:D:\bootcd\working in which the dxsetup came up, but it looked normal so I am unsure of whether it went to the right dir.... oh whoops... I should have googled this first before I posted.... *searches google*
