I'm looking for a socket 775 motherboard that can take a Pentium D 805 processor, and that has AGP & PCI-E slots. I don’t mind if the memory is DDR or DRR2, or if the motherboard doesn’t have support for Core 2 Duo. I have a 7800 GS AGP card, and I can get the Pentium D 805 real cheap from a guy upgrading at work.I want to keep my options open to upgrade to a PCI-E card in the future. I don’t want to spend too much on an upgrade now, just the bare essentials to get my AGP card and the Pentium D 805 up and running.

Can't find if this was asked previously, but where can I find a couple of good websites that explains how to do this? My dad wants new PCs for his work and asked me to do the setup. He is going to get ADSL for internet. He wants the 20 pc's to be connected with a switch. The switch is then connected to a server, and the server is connected to the ADSL modem. He also wants to run as mail client on the server, and a database.W2k3 would properly be on the server and the rest WinXP with Office 2003. Can somebody please give me links to show me how to do this? Will I have to setup a DNS or SMTP server? Thanks

I'm going to buy a new graphics card for my dad,and one question i have is what is the difference between the speeds on the 2 cards. The 128mb cards is clocked as 300/550mhz while the 256 is at 300/500. Is the 256 card going to be very slower,or is there not going to be such a big difference?I read on some forums that the 256 models of cards is usally slower because of tghe memmory controller being the same as the 128 models? Can anybody please help me on this?

I dont think that is the problem.I'f just delete the [network] and joinnetwork=home form the file,and still the same problem.Only difference is that the error line number is 2 less.

None.It just my pc at home. I just put in that line to show that it gives an error after the last line in the file.Usally the last line is just blank. Windows setup give me a error right in the beginning that in the winnt.sif file line (say) 47 is incorrect and windows can't continue install.

Hi When I make my winnt.sif file with notepad the first time everything is working fine.I test the cd with VPC and no problems.As soon as I edit the file,like changing the driverpolicy, the installation complains about the last line being incorrect. When I check the file,there is nothing after the last line : JoinNetwork=Home What can the problem be after editing?

I trying to install w2k unattended without some components installed. I would like to remove defrag (I'm using diskeeper lite), ext. Does anybody know how to do this? Is there a website with all the [components] setting for w2k?

I'm having problems receiving any mail in Gmail. POP3, forwarding & archiving is disabled. When I send a mail to my work, the mail comes thru, but when I reply to it the mail never arrives. Does anyone have this same problem?

How do I do option a? What file do I need to change and how? If I understand correctly, when you install windows (W2k) on a partition with an installation of W2k on it, windows wants to overwrite everything. It warn you that you are going to loose everything on the disk. Will the first option help me if I have 2 partitions on my hdd with windows on c:?

Or is there a silent installation option without reboot for IE6? (But would like to know how to slipstream)

Does anybody know how I can slipstream IE 6 into W2k with SP4 silpstreamed?

I have Auto partition=1 in the file, but it still doesn't work. Is there any other option that might over right this?

When I run my unattended CD on a pc with a single hard drive, it runs fine from the start to finish. When I try it on a pc which hard drive is split into 2 partitions, the install stop and asks with partition to use. How can I change this that is automatically formats the primary partition and continues to install?
