  1. Weeellll - those that I "found" on this Topic (AFAICT, but probably not). Don't those scripts "modify" if you select a different option within it? (BTW, I've not "tested" -or- "run" any of the "4" yet.) To verify those "found" would be to content compare and "hope for the best" for which came first (if it mattered). The "versions" and "count of versions" is getting a bit messy. A -functional- set (one for Win9x, one for WinXP+) would be (IMHO) ideal as a starting point, however at this point it's unknown if at any given time something got "broken" during the course of "fixing". Those dates that have been mentioned are pointless (to me) unless they can identify -why- they are dated as such, since using any of those "services" (for me, anyway) preclude downloading as-is (e.g. date of 7z) with (for example) wget/flashget/etc.
  2. LiveLinux -or- WinBuilder (XP, anyway for sure) -does- expose those folders and contents. I have booted MANY a time to a LiveXP and deleted those and the PageFile before "ghosting". Yes, it works that way. Linux does not care about "hidden" -or- "owner", which is what they're "definitions" have. They will -only- be locked (usually) by the Running System (second install of same/similar OS -may- lock them due to "ownership" - can't remember off-hand). Bottom line, don't try it and keep questioning us. It'll never happen.
  3. "Help me"??? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules Please scroll down to #12. The only other "clue" you gave was a "keyword" of the HDD Model. Yes, you CAN edit your Topic Title and individual posts.
  4. JFYI (oldish topic) http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/140233-best-virtualisation-software/
  5. Apparently "Version=" has absolutely no meaning under the circumstances (script.project)? (Managed to get all 4 of them.)
  6. re: the Office 2000 components mentioned - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/2ed9211f-a76e-4697-8f48-2cc35cc99c4e/microsoft-office-2000-compatibility?forum=w7itproappcompat Scrolling down
  7. Don't know if this handy tool would help *anyone* but check it out. http://lifehacker.com/5420931/namebench-helps-you-find-the-fastest-dns-server-for-your-computer Disclaimer - I have *not* downloaded and tried (yet). FYI - I've had that on occasion as well. Having a router does the same thing (ipconfig) for me. The Router has a DNS IP as well. edit - HAH! Simple Online "nslookup" that *may* help - http://www.kloth.net/services/nslookup.php (with another disclaimer) MS' NSLOOKUP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/200525
  8. Post#21/#24 obtained previously. Zshare still fails...
  9. (oh, jeez...) That's what I really meant - Trade ya one PID/VID for two VEN/DEV's.
  10. 1 - Try cleaning the heck out of it. 2 - Why isn't this in the Hardware section of the Forum? It has nothing to do with 9x/ME.

This should be moved to the "Funny Farm" under the newly created heading of "WTH Is this?".
  12. <<== Wonders if it has to do with IE "interface" into HTML/"The Web"? GAK! I get it too with my "Reinstalled" 2k3sp2 (no updates yet applied) - "Bing" Redirect as well. Guess those events are no longer important?
  13. ??? Still, there are SEVERAL "models" associated with that (google it). Again, provide the VID/PID for assistance. According to your last post above, you have some kind of "conflict". What I provided was based upon your initial needs (never knew BOTH were having a problem).
  14. (sigh...) Those are XP logs and exist NOT on C:\ (the ROOT of ther HDD) but in the "C:\WINDOWS" folder! "WINNT32" is SPECIFICALLY a Windows XP Upgrade and dows NOT have (AFAIK) any SUWIN files! I SAID "SETUPLOG.TXT", a entirely DIFFERENT Filename and found EXACTLY where I SAID it would be at "C:\SETUPLOG.TXT"! HOW in the WORLD did you get those "LOG" files from a Win98->WinME upgrade? THEY WOULD NOT EXIST! edit - FYI, that file BETTER exist for BOTH Win9x -and- WinME!!! Try again... you don't have any Win9x on that Laptop otherwise. You have done something highly questionable?
  15. ? The topic specifically states "Windows 95" and what I downloaded was from Intel (go look). This isn't about Dell, it's about the Intel Chipset.
  16. re: zshares link Dang it! (got the other two linked above - both say v1.06/same date?)
  17. Windows Explorer->Tools->Folder Options-> 1) "General" Tab: Check "Use Windows Classic" 2) "View" Tab: (check=Y/uncheck=N) Y - Display the contents of system folders * - Hidden files and folders Y - - Show hidden files and folders N - Hide extensions for known file types N - Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) Click "Apply" then click "Apply to All Folders" Exit ("X") Now go look. That folder HAS to exist, otherwise "somehow" it has been deleted. You DO realize that "{stringofhexnumbers}" (one for each Outlook Express Account) and "<outlooksexpressFoldername>" are generic names. There may be SEVERAL of the FIRST (per Account) and BETTER be MANY of the SECOND (inside EACH of the First). Now, what you *saying* is that you *never* created an independent User-ID in Administrators Group? Bad JUJU, as far as I'm concerned. At *most* you should have renamed it *and* (hopefully) password protect it.
  18. Could you provide the VID/PID? This is *essential* in finding the correct driver. *Always* provide this detail for Driver Searches. "Generically" speaking Realtek has them here (according to the above quote) - http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=7&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
  19. A whole gaggle of SUWIN errors and codes - http://www.members.shaw.ca/pccruiser/articles/suwin.htm SETUPLOG.TXT contents in the C: drive tell you anything ("C:\SETUPLOG.TXT")? You MAY have to use EDIT.COM (probably still in "C:\Windows\Command\EDIT.COM") to view it IF you can open it.
  20. "Please Help" is a lousy topic title... One OS Install, One XML per OS. Period!
  21. @TELVM - see comment above by JodyThornton - The Home Page setting in Options. I have mine set to "blank page" so that if I start FF, it goes THERE and not to e.g. MSNdotCOM like when you first install and get a "default" plugged in. The question being - does the new "feature" in FF actually OVERRIDE what I would set? SURELY PaleMoon has this in their Options so you can see what I mean? Heck even IE has this setting... http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/01/make-aboutblank-your-homepage.html
  22. A thought? In "Display->Advanced", "Hardware Acceleration" settings under "Troubleshooting"?
  23. So what was the exact SUWIN error? There are many reasons/code for that. It "kind of" sounds like you were doing an upgrade?
  24. I stand corrected. It appears that compatible programs will need to be obtained and the scripts modified accordingly.
  25. Does this help? http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2008/09/26/8965755.aspx More than likely this is more useful info? http://www.robvanderwoude.com/errorlevel.php
