  1. Slightly O/T but relevant (I bought a new one with the flyer that said the same) - http://www.zzounds.com/item--MAC1604VLZPRO Uhhh, only because the board is a single flat circuit (no individial upright channel boards) and that is sheer nonsense. They DO fail with enough G-force (stomp on the knobs).
  2. First, you're Topic text isn't very descriptive. Please red the Rules throughly (there's something there about this). http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules Second (you're request) there are multiple ways do do this. One is using nLite as the "integrator" tool. http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/89-nlite/ You could perhaps use the HFSLIP tools - http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/129-hfslip/ There's a new "project" (still in creation/testing phase) that -may- work. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171171-introducing-unofficial-windows-xp-sp4/ Updates come in two flavors - actual Updates (service packs and public hotfixes, which now include IE8) and Add-Ons (e.g. dotNet, MediaPlayer). Here are HotFix lists. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/86450-hotfixes-win2000-sp4-winxp-sp2-winxp-sp3-and-win2003-sp2/ The Lists are under the Unattended Subforum. There are multiple resources to get the needed Hotixes/Updates. They generally come directly from the MS Servers. http://xdot.tk/updates.html http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/ (also look at the RyanVM website for other help/updates items) Just browse around and when you have SPECIFIC problems you need help with, come back. HTH
  3. Flasche - read this thread. POSReady is not a "full" OS and is an entirely different XP-based OS. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/157597-win-xp-past-apr-2014-was-will-xp-be-supported-until-2019/ Google "pos 2009" site:msfn.orgIt will say "no hits" but will give you several. HTH edit - and please note POSReady is more for (e.g.) Nightclub Cash Registers (yes, I have seen them in action). They're not going to throw them under the bus. Also note this - POSReady 2009 and not XP 2001.
  4. June 29, 2010 Review of HP Probook 4520s - http://www.notebookreview.com/notebookreview/hp-probook-4520s-review/ "Wiki" UEFI - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Extensible_Firmware_Interface Closest I can find that -possibly- you have UEFI - http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-HP-ProBook-EliteBook/Cannot-boot-from-CD-on-Probook-4540s/td-p/5863849 Suggest you do what jaclaz said to confirm.
  5. ??? Damaged is damaged, no other way around it. And that has nothing to do with the compression. Thanks for playing, though.
  6. Weird! "2 Posts" but only one appears to exist (the one above). I don't get it. Scroll down to Post #7 and click on the ScreenShot Picture/Thumbnail. That's what an F8 Screen should look like. http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vista/882299-blue-screen.html So you're saying in Safe Mode a user-id of "other user" (literally?) is coming up? You're saying that "If I put my info in it", how can you do that? There should (normally) still be a Welcome Screen to select for "Safe Mode" so WHAT "info" are you entering. You also finally state "the specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted" which means that this Computer has to be a member of a Domain in order to logon (the logon credentials are located on the Domain, not the Local Computer). Normally, this would only be done on a Business Vista (Vista Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate). Who set this computer up, i.e. where did it come from? This sounds really odd to me. Please provide more specific information.
  7. @bphlpt - close... CDA "files" are "pointers" (indices/track info, if you will) to WAV files. Yes, -any- format burned to an Audio CD -must- be converted to WAV files, even MP3 files ("compressed" WAV) "burned" from the MS Media Player converts them. SOP... Whenever possible, -always' "rip" to WAV as they are the "original lossless" format used in every single (AFAIK) CD/DVD (audio) player on the market (barring those having a built-in MP3-format player). Using obscure formats is not a good idea if there's no facility to convert to WAV/MP3 for the purpose of burning to play on a "standard CD Audio player". HTH
  8. I have found nothing that correctly functions with MS to "expand" the correct -real- filenames except the SFXCAB.EXE prepended module, or perhaps the one jaclaz mentioned that I assume -undoubtedly- works (I haven't tried it). All of this is proprietary and possibly the one you gave a link to (and haven't yet downloaded or tested it) has an even different method (internally) than MS uses. http://www.google.com/patents/EP1501196A1?cl=en http://www.google.com/patents/US20050022175 Both of which appear to be one and the same. Googling this should have told you as much. You're "beating a dead horse", unless you write your own using the MS API calls. "Better compression" to what end? Those are (generally) Installer/Update Packages - you must want to make some MONSTER size packages. Repeat - "expand.exe" will NOT do you any good since it would -not- expand the -internally compressed- (file/delta) inside of the CAB. The function is JUST NOT THERE!
  9. ...and sometimes (many times) the Built-In Video.
  10. INURL (colon) and INTITLE (colon) also. (google those with "google" also as search term)
  11. I have a question(s) - Why do you want to do that? What's the rationale? Why do they need to be IPD-compressed files? Why not Standard MSCF-type (CAB) files with the Standard SFXCAB.EXE-(the stripped off part of a Standard Installer) prepended? It seems that MS has intentionally made this a "proprietary" format of which you need the API Calls (?) from the SFX Program in order to expand the internal files.
  12. ...bearing in mind the Uncompressed Source may (will in any Installer Source) have some form of compression that, to further compress, could require a different Compression Program to get better, as demonstrated in the last post. You could randomly insert n-Characters into a TXT file then do the same number of n-Characters into another TXT file, compress the two with the exact same Compressor and get different sizes. IOW, "it all depends on the source".
  13. :realmad: How many times do you need told? Links to the information has been give and -you- keep giving the -SAME LINK-? READ what links were given. It appears to be a NO-GO and -NO- I am -NOT- going to install stuff I -DON'T NEED- or -BUY- an -IOS APP- just to satisfy you. I do (and appearently nobody else on MSFN) NOT need such a program like iPadian! Go read the links!!! (sheesh) HERE is a qoute from one (which you APPARENTLY did NOT READ!)
  14. You answered your own question - the crux of installing Win9x of any "modern" MoBo is the Drivers, particularly the Chipset ones which are essential. I don't believe a G45 will function and am unsure of the G3x-series (maybe some of them). So, yes, there -will-be an upper-end (particularly for the Mobo). Again, browse around, expecially the "Sticky" topics (clearly listed at the top of the 9x/ME SubForum). Most, if not all, of your questions will be answered therein, including "unofficial" fixes, workarounds, etc. There's one topic "Modern Motherboards which are Working..." (or something like that) which would be of interest. HTH
  15. Two things to note: - A Copy/Move operation isn't done directly to the target - your TEMP folder is used for intermediate transfer - Caching -may- have something to do with it - see following two links http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/10392-write-caching-enable-disable.html http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2012/04/write-caching-for-usb-devices-in-windows-just-dont-bother/
  16. Oh, joy! This will be fun! I'm assuming this is the 3d Party? http://www.softpedia.com/get/Compression-tools/SFXCAB-Substitute.shtml Are you stripping away the correct part of the SFXCAB.EXE part, leaving just the MSCF-cab part? How are you able to determine the Filenames, or is it JUST the EXPAND.EXE giving problems? UniExtract/Winzip/Winrar/7zip all will extract those files from a SFX-executable (e.g. MS Fix) but the files inside are useless since they're not the "real" files, true?
  17. Yes, do give us an opinion on a Topic created on 01 November 2013 - 10:27 AM and having one single response on 30 December 2013 - 04:44 PM The Original poster didn't want an OPINION on the HARDWARE, they wanted to know what HARDWARE they specified was WORTH (as a unit). The second post gave a suggestion. You gave nothing on a four month old topic and I'll bet that the OP already either kept it or sold it by now. BTW - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules Have you ever read the Rules? Or maybe you felt this Topic needed a bump every two months?
  18. I clearly stated (adding in the red to clarify) Epic test scenario! That -is- the official one I gave the link to. Curious as to WHY you want to Decompile when the SOURCE is right there as well. (Love it when a member totally ignores sound advice then argues...)
  19. Mmmm... problem appears to (partially) the fact that some of those (?maybe all) FX 8-Core are "defined" as 4 Physical Cores and 8 Logical Cores? A Windows7 Hotfix reference (all from google say the same thing) - https://teksyndicate.com/forum/cpu/amd-fx-8350-hotfixespatches/131535 More info (near the end) - http://www.passmark.com/forum/showthread.php?3996-FX-8120-showing-as-4-core
  20. ? This says it's OpenSource - http://www.herdprotect.com/mousekeyboardactivitymonitor.dll-38f54246273170d3a608760500e9d432a4476491.aspx http://globalmousekeyhook.codeplex.com/documentation http://globalmousekeyhook.codeplex.com/releases You may have an "altered" one that may "steal" keystrokes? Upload YOURS to VirusTotal. You could ALSO download the "official" one and replace YOURS to see if the symptom disappears (which would prove yours has been tampered with)?
  21. (sigh...) According to VirusTotal it's loaded with... ADWARE, not Viruses! (17 of 48, NOT 20, as you state!) https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/2432601977475e6ed6c5785c59f682e7e1ce7da76e8ab3cd92c2e8933245335b/analysis/1388525066/ "Buyer beware" and that includes "Freeware/Trailware". You WILL get Adware! One might "assume" that if you get the PAID one, it will "disable" the Adware. LOTS of "Free Stuff" that also has the "Paid Version" do that type of thing. No surprise here.
  22. Are the Apps iOS-7 apps? One must assume -almost- any iOS-7 apps. You initially said So, you're saying your PURCHASED one desn't work? Also, as you quoted from that link So one might believe that it may not allow for "purchased"? They also stated in that link So, interestingly, they mention Bluestacks which is for Android only? Very strange indeed. Addidionally, on the main xPadian page it says this Wonder what that asterisk (*) at the end means? Finally, I don't see a "paid" iPadian on the page or anywhere else. Where did you see that? I seriously can't see anyone "purchasing" an unnamed App (you never named it) just to test iPadian (or any other iPad/iPhone-emulating App) for you. All we can do is help you find a -potentially- useful software. BTW, I don't believe -anybody- endorsed or tested any of the suggestions. Sorry about that, but it appears that it's up to you to figure it out with any -suggestions- (not to be construed as endorsements) that may be given. iPadian comment on Facebook (seems there IS a Paid version) - https://www.facebook.com/ribbon/posts/396579207136089 So it seems that -maybe- it doesn't really work?
  23. ROTS, you really are getting borderline political, aren't you? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules Why are you trolling the MSFN Forum to voice opinions? Can you not contibutesomething useful? This topic was NOT about anything BUT Please stop as you are becoming an irritant. Your rant has NOTHING to do with the Topic and holds no relevance and IMHO you are instigating. Not cool, dude!
  24. I need your tests. Which is faster on the same dragstrip, a 350ci 1969 Chevy Nova or a 350ci 1970 Chevy Chevelle? I'm assuming you have both Models, the same as you assume someone has both Office versions? They are both built on the same "base" code, AFAIK (same as the example I gave above). Great title, BTW, since it does NOT even MENTION Office -AND- you posted the topic in (of all places) Unattended Win7/Server2K8. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules PLEASE go read THE RULES.Thank you, and HTH
  25. Well, fair warning, that -if- you mean it flagged a module as a virus/trojan, quite a number of AntiVirus erroneously do that to any UPX-compressed files. I go the "risky" route and have my Symantec disabled and use it on-demand, along with MBAM and Spybot. I'm not so sure you -might- be slogging down your PC by having two Real-Time services running. If not, it's all good - if so, you may have to take a chance on the Avast instead (disable Defender). One would "assume" it would provide for anti-spyware From Avast 2014 It -does- claim that.
