  1. No. Yes. You're welcome.
  2. I don't get it... Web Sites have nothing to do with Spam Callers. GO TO THAT FCC LINK GIVEN and get your phone number on the no-call list. What are you talking about? A Web-Enabled SMART PHONE? Did you install some sort of P.O.S. "APP"? If so, you should uninstall it! Sounds like you brought this on yourself, kind of like clicking on a trojan-laden website while looking for warez or pr0n. Again, you have your answers (INCLUDING the "hacked" email, which I spoke about) and there's nothing more to it, AFAIK.
  3. This is it? http://www.leechftp.org/ http://www.softpedia.com/progScreenshots/LeechFTP-Screenshot-23829.html Does this help? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_download_managers
  4. (pfffttt - generic user guides - http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers)
  5. Errr - unless you have one of those el-cheapo K-Mart "minutes" phones that TXT you to buy things. That's telemarketer "spam" that you have to manually delete without reading - if you read it, you pay the $ for TXT service (per TXT). We just delete them indiscriminately, so if anyone knows our cell phone #, SPEAK, because we don't TXT. On our landline, we just ignore any # we don't know unless you SPEAK or leave the message. The V.A. Hospitals are "real good" about passing that info out (it's in the release form). The OP has the best advice IMO that can be given. (use the link Trip gave that I didn't supply - Thx, Trip)
  6. ??? Post #5??? All but Graphics? I suppose BWC will have to provide some details. I can't seem to find the Blog Entry.
  7. 1 - What is the SOURCE Windows 7 - is it RTM or SP1? (READ THAT LINK I GAVE!) 2 - Is there a point to integrating AMDFilter to an All Intel-based Install (laptop)? http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/windows/7/x64/amdfilter/11.10 3 - The tool you used to Integrate is fine - it's used by many members here. This makes no sense - a CLEAN DVD or the "Integrated" DVD?
  8. "I'm not able to" - but you just DID give some details about (at least) the Laptop! The Hard Drive in it is a 320gb SATA-II. You are having a SATA problem. See if this helps any whatsoever. http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/28584-Windows-setup-could-not-configure-windows-to-run-on-this-computer-s-hardware And the TOOL you used is here - http://www.wintobootic.com/ It apparently worked the first time and not this time? Is it the SAME TOOL used the first time? Try another tool, like WinSetupFromUSB. http://www.winsetupfromusb.com/ How-to is here - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/120444-how-to-install-windows-from-usb-winsetupfromusb-with-gui/ THIS tool is tried-and-true! And you get SUPPORT here! Now, about that "custom pc". why can't you give any info on that one? Unplug it and take the case cover off.
  9. Please note that said post now points to another (last page) post indicating the same as BWC. Intel doesn't have their *ahem* together at all.
  10. Contact the person/persons responsible for the email accounts in question and explain the situation. Hopefully, once you prove you are you they can take care of it. Any private info in it well, it's too late the hackers got it. Nothing can be done about phone calls except put your/their # on a "don't call" list (no guarantee it fully will work). I have no clue what you're talking about when you say "put the no tracking on for web sites on firefox". That's a new one for me. You mean COOKIES?
  11. 80 more? I find that extremely hard to believe. 1 - That would be filename=UDC-02.11.14.zip (Feb. 11, 2014) last month Patch Tuesday 2 - To be integrated using nLite along with an XP SP3 Source (SP3 can be simultaneously integrated) You DID have/do #2, right? -X- when he gets first opportunity makes a new Downloader every (or at least as soon after) Patch Tuesday (2nd Tue of each month). Apparently one week "behind" the last one. Bear in mind, the LAST one will be in April. After that, it's obtaining "unsupported/unofficial" updates (more than likely). Much speculation scattered on this, but rest assured OVER! These will be the "latest" ones. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms14-mar http://blogs.computerworld.com/windows/23648/microsoft-patch-tuesday-march-2014 Note that -X- removes superseded fixes when a new one replaces it/them. 12. (<<== now smacks head on doorjamb) +1 (no need for ISO at all)
  13. (<<== smacks head against wall...) "Random musings" Trade you two screaming grandkids and a mate that thinks a bigger house cures cat scratching on furniture for a little peace/think-time. Heed jaclaz' suggestion. Revamp: Pull the Image and boot to it via UFD/Grub4DOS (also Mount the ISO Image), FDISK/FORMAT, copy WIN9X folder, reboot to HDD, run SETUP. (did I get it "more right" this time?)
  14. AHHHH! NOW I remember! Had the same problem when I "fixed" a neighbors - had to create ISO images, transfer to my PC and "burn" afterwards. Houston, we have a slight problem. You need some kind of DOS-based USB-CD driver. As jaclaz said (this MAY work)... I believe you have XP, right? Create a basic (SMALL one) LiveXP (WinBuilder), make it load into RAM (should be enough on one of those), eject the CD, run COMMAND.COM (make sure the XP one is on the LiveXP ISO image), stick the WinME in, recreate the Partition Scheme as necessary (using FDISK/FORMAT), copy "WIN9X" folder to HDD, run COMMAND.COM , run the copied "C:WIN9X\SETUP.EXE" as appropriate. Random musings - a close guestimate of how-to - you need the ME-version of the MBR/PBR AFAICR by using ME FDISK/FORMAT before proceeding. Sorry, no time to elaborate (or test) right now. Others will assist after you just think about it.
  15. Post#5 1 - The OP indicated that they screwed up the Partitions (?) somehow. 2 - They bought a Recovery Disk Set 3+4 - Recover Disks CREATED are not necessarily the same as PURCHASED Recovery Disks 5 - (Refer to # ) 6 - Must be some kind of snarky insult (?) because yes we have and Retail Disks are an entirely different story 7 - (as you said, Refer to #x below) 8 - Real confusion - NOT an XP Recovery set, but Windows 7 Recovery set (link said EITHER/OR) x - Quoting WTH? You have a Recovery Partition (See #1)? You lack clarity. IF you have a Recovery Parition, WHAT is on it? HOW did you "test" an XP Install? Is THAT what screwed up the paritions?IF it came with Windows 7, THEN it SHOULD have "worked" and been Auto-Activated (SLIC2.0). IF it came with Windows XP it WILL NOT (SLP1.0) - but the XP "OEM Recovery" WILL. You are TELLING us it is SUPPOSED to have Windows 7 AND you go on about a Recovery Partition. Tell us the EXACT SEQUENCE of events (what you did) when it DID work up until the time it did NOT! TELL us exactly WHAT OS was on it BEFORE it screwed up. Please list the Disk Contents or not - your choice as it will not provide "secret info". @Trip - don't be so sure! Many disks can be "tied" (created Recovery disks) based upon a Serial#. Also, some Recovery Disks have Split Weird-Named WIM's so there will be no Install.Wim. Further, many Recovery Disks are "generic" and depend on Model# to determine which Weird-Named WIM's to "drop" onto the PC and will refuse if the Model# isn't listed. IOW, yes, an Install can be "blocked" in many ways. The OP hasn't given any specific in-sequence info other than "it doesn't work but I know it should". Recovery, Clarity is thy name... FYI - I had recovered my Daughter's PC at one time by simply making it boot to the Recover Partition (had one of those "bogus" installs on the C-drive). Of course, the Partition Scheme wasn't changed (no shuffling of sizes or volume names). It even recreated the F11 MBR.
  16. ??? What does this have to do with WinSetupFromUSB?
  17. Hmmm... Methinks Tommy may have hit on the "problem". Flasche - - How familiar are you with code inside AUTOEXEC.BAT/CONFIG.SYS? - How familiar are you with extracting/replacing the Boot Image of a CD (where the above are located)? If that's indeed the problem (PC boots but Driver "can't find" a CD Drive) then you need to use an alternative CD Driver. I'll try to find the appropriate threads with links. Also, Dell has a "specialized" one that works but it's proprietary (can't be posted or linked to). Here is a semi-pertinent thread that names -one/an- alternative. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/160550-shsucdx-cd-rom-driver-and-fshare-issues/ Several more - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/140982-cant-read-dvd-drive-in-dos-mode/ http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/147545-create-a-bootable-cddvd-from-a-set-of-floppies/page-2 Note the above has something posted by me about SATA-connected drives. Here's the link to the thread - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/159780-question-about-rloew-sata-driver/ Links to latest version of proposed replacement - http://www.freedos.org/software/?prog=shsucdx
  18. One is SATA (custom PC), the other (laptop) isn't? Could you supply us some hardware specifics of the laptop -and- the custom one, e.g. Make/Model/Motherboards?
  19. Ahem... Additionally, what makes you so sure it's NOT a SLIC problem? The link that bphlpt provided indicates it -potentially- has XP -or- Windows7, of which XP uses SLP -in the BIOS- and WindowsVista use SLIC2.0 -in the BIOS- and Windows7 use SLIC2.1 -in the BIOS-. We all know that. Hopefully, you do too? Yes, that listing tha jaclaz requested (in addition to being sure of the OEM BIOS SLP/SLIC confirmation) would do wonders.
  20. According to this, it's an "MSI 7145" - http://web.archive.org/web/20080301100810/http://e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket754/msi7145.shtml Picture is missing on archive, but here's one - http://www.motherboards.org/mobot/motherboards_d/MSI/RS482M-IL%2B%2528MS-7145%2BV2.1%2529/ It appears to be the same as your photo. Close but... http://www.msi.com/product/mb/RS482MF_L_FI_IL.html More specifically (RS480M-IL) - http://www.msi.com/product/mb/RS480M.html#/?div=Manual
  21. NO BECAUSE WE INTEGRATE HERE. WE ALSO HAVE A MEMBER THAT PROVIDES "WINDOWS POST INSTALL WIZARD". EXTRAS CAN BE GOTTEN VIA "WINDOWS UPDATES DOWNLOAD" OR WE CAN POINT YOU TO THEM. BROWSE AROUND HERE THEN ASK FOR ANY OTHER HELP. AFAIK, AUTOPATCHER FOR XP EXISTS. THERE WILL NEVER BE ONE (AFAIK) SIMILAR TO AP98SE. AND STOP YELLING IN GIANT FONTS PLEASE! UNLESS THERE'S A REAL GOOD REASON. Thank you, and you're welcome.
  22. Duplicated Topic here - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171293-building-install-from-recover-cd/ and here - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171294-building-install-from-recover-cd/ ...In which you say "Why can't I post"? Try "refreshing" your screen. ---DOH! Someone noticed - "cleaned" the others to la-la land... We may as well stick with this one. What do you mean "does not work"? That really doesn't say too much. We need DETAILS - What is the EXACT Model of Netbook? What does it do EXACTLY when you attempt to boot from it? Do you get ANY messages displayed? Crystal balls are broken - I'm very old. edit - nLite is NOT for Windows 7 and what YOU have is a "recovery dvd", which is a world different than an official MS dvd. edit2 - ...and your text in this first post isn't the same as the original topic you posted.
  23. Phoenix BIOS - Move to the First Boot Device (up/down keys), press <enter>, and another screen will pop out. Select one item in the list (up/down keys), press <enter> and pop-out disappears, displaying the selected one for the First. Yes, you may have "duplicates, but as I have shown, each of the 4 boot devices are "selectable", or even "none". Your manual here http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/(E3997)_P5N73-AM_Asus-motherboard.pdfHTH
  24. All well and good, but how is this going to protect XP after EOS? What's the difference between using this and any other VM? XP is still "exposed".
  25. I guess what rloew is saying is... Ignore it (just a stupid bug), it works fine, be happy.
