  1. Just created an account for my granddaughter (her name, my access) Jan-23 for something called "xtramath" and didn't have to do that. Did you actually list "mobile phone"? Again, there is absolutely NO WAY to give a Mobile Phone # if you only have a "wired" land line. You're doing something wrong. edit - and no, I didn't opt for Google+
  2. http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/153-vlite/
  3. This says you are mistaken in disabling DNS Client in ANY case - http://www.blackviper.com/windows-services/dns-client/ A relatively well-respected info resource, BTW...
  4. The button is there, just use it. "Phone Verification" is for a Cell Phone, not Landline. Ignore/skip it. Heck, we don't even HAVE a cell phone!
  5. SoftIce is nice. A hackers paradise! Don't like the mode? Follow the code! Change it all in a thrice. It appears that the code is ( after checking for "something" ) branching to a "subroutine" to display a specific String in the "box" having a simple "OK" button. It's kind of pointless to chase this down (seeing as how the addresses have been relocated). Kind of the same thing as that "localized Notepad" trick the OP had provided. "I did it in my (secret language) localized module thusly, so surely this will work for you."
  6. I finally got that (about the pop-up). I might point out your "fix" is useless unless you indicate exactly how to find it in -any- language and -any- version. You gave an Offset, but is it in Decimal or Hex? I find at at Hex Offset x77A1 the following Hexadecimal String - x0F85E6400000 - ENTIRELY different and I found that by searching for x0F85E6, so why bother? P.S. That string does NOT exist in WinMe and MANY users use the SE2ME on their 98SE's... x0F85 = JUMP instruction, many of which exist within. You're changing a specific "set" into a series of "NOP" for a "drop-through".
  7. Followup - WHICH Win9x? Neither the Win98SE nor WindowsME EXPLORER.EXE (English) contain this Hex string.
  8. @Charlotte Not an OEM? Sounds much like the XP was the OEM Install.Of course, the OP is not providing - the Model of Lenovo, only claiming the "correct x64 drivers". I have seen some lappies with modem being non-removable. re: The Windows 7 - What exactly is the source of this "x64"? I've found mention of "laptop", "desktop" (Compaq 5WV270?), and "Omnibook 900B" from past posts, but nothing more specific.
  9. Would you mind explaining what the heck you're talking about? Inquiring minds want to know... edot - OHHHH!!!!! Ye olde "Safe Mode" stuff on your screen. O-key-doke...
  10. No thanks. I already have several IM's from a couple of Moderators/Supervisors that, in essence, say "Put Dogway on ignore and let him suffer through his own problems." I would quote them but, unlike you, stick the the Forum Rules. Copyright? Who needs Copyright - I gots WAREZ!!! http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170907-solved-xp-freeze-on-dual-boot-with-7/#entry1066753 P.S. I have a folder on my PC dedicated to your obstinance. Take the good advice from this Funkadelics (stoned as Clinton was) tune Rise above or drown... Oh, and PLEASE *****drums***** report me again. Is this you telling us how you should be treated? http://www.dogway.com/
  11. re - Controlset001 vs CurrentControlSet http://support.microsoft.com/kb/100010 re - the others - gee, wonder what "regsvr32" does? Hmmmm.... Guess you should learn a little more - the info is *****drums***** CORRECT!!! "Version" - YES, what I linked to is DIRECTLY from Intel (notice the link?). What you linked specifically stated a "newer" one was available (guess that was the one I linked to).Furthermore, YES, I DID suggest trying an OLDER one, or have you NEVER noticed that MSFN has MANY instances of a given "set" of drivers NOT "officially" working but *****drums***** ACTUALLY DO!!! I'm guessing (just a guess...) Intel decided that all the bugs found in the Drivers for XP just weren't worth the effort of fixing since XP was being *****drums***** dropped anyway. Note - take a look at the Release Notes PDF's. March to your own *****drums*****. We work as a team here. If you don't like the "help", go elsewhere. I DO NOT OWN A HASWELL but tried to help anyway. Who else responded? N-O-B-O-D-Y! Your *****drums***** welcome.
  12. Google "lock down" "windows 7"Limited User Group, add Users to it, and "lock up the doors". There's a number of ways. Just use the Google I gave.
  13. Scroll down - Post#466 - Appears to be XP drivers - http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/24340-intel-gma-drivers/page-24 edit - please note that the following thread categorically states that they don't even work on XP. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170907-solved-xp-freeze-on-dual-boot-with-7/
  14. DISM for XP and Vista v1.0.5 <Download> http://www.wincert.net/forum/files/file/8-dism-for-xp-and-vista/ Are you a member? I'm not - RESTRICTED to a site that allows for it. As I said, not part of the OFFICIAL WinCert Packages, but a TORRENT "Package"! Wonder how the good folks over at Wincert feel about the distribution? In addition, there seems to have BEEN a MediaFire link to the DISM Package that has been removed due to Copyright Violation. You can rant and rave about "so what if it's illegal" all you want, but the bottom line is that you came asking for assistance with what's (at least on MSFN) WAREZ WAREZ WAREZ! Seems you didn't need the help ANYWAY, smarty-pants... For everyone else - Here's the DISM + Reg stuff required after download via GetWaik - http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8616 edit - OH LOOK, he FINALLY gives this info! SCROLL DOWN TO POST # 466 - http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/24340-intel-gma-drivers/page-24
  15. This MoBo? http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=518 To all - links to stuff makes it convenient so we (the helpers) don't have to do all the legwork. Searching now... edit - downloaded the package.... Above (yours) is Windows 7 driver - HAS to be! At the LEAST you should have been trying the XP/2003 one.
  16. IMHO your Directory Structure (internal pointers) is screwed up, and more than likely any number of softwares.Maybe you have gotten a virus/trojan/whatever? I was NOT harping on JavaScript - I was pointing out some obvious items, of which ONE was JAVA!!!! You have a screwed up OPSYS, complaining ONE at work is "ok" and THIS one is not, when they are OBVIOUSLY in different conditions of Hardware AND Software! You screwed SOMETHING up! You are now on your own, since you refuse to even read the links for some "hints". This is no longer "A couple of firefox-2 issues" now is it? My recommendation - Wipe it and reload. That is all.
  17. Scroll down to post # 133 - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/107001-compatible-hardware-with-windows-9x/page-6 edit - forgot to mention DO read the "stickies" for what to do to install if you have LOTS of ram and LARGE HDD's and ANYTHING to do with SATA (e.g. leave in PATA/IDE Mode).
  18. And is this in any way related? http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170903-netscape-32-bit-javascript-module-which-version/ Please note that NoScript blocks JavaScript. Additionally Google "firefox 2" iframeclearly shows CODING in the WEBSITES is the problem. I suppose you ALSO ignored the Wiki and W3C links? edit2 - THIS is the FireFox you refer to! (YOU could have linked) - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/131731-anybody-using-firefox-20022pre-with-98/ um...NOPE! You have v23pre - UNSUPPORTED! Try the "official" v22. Or use KEX! ??? NO SUCH v23pre that I can find! Only LAST v22pre! !!! Found v23 here http://impact.dbmi.columbia.edu/support/downloads/ edit3 - try THIS IFRAME test site (I also see JS being NoScript blocked in them) - http://www.draac.com/iframes.html edit4 - Iframe references (so you'll get an inkling) re NEWER FF (even) - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/737230 edit 4 - another fun FRAME/IFRAME test page - http://www.globemoon.net/iframe-ex.html edit - and looking at BOTH page codes (the originaI test page) I see in the "text" page a Script "instruction" - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_script.asp
  19. Points of interest 1 - Running a "newer" OS 2 - With FireFox 12 3 - With NoScript 4 - With AdBlock Going to this - http://www.quirksmode.org/iframetest.html gives me "Iframe - NO" "Temporarily allow ALL this page" (Noscript Option) gives me "Iframe - YES" This text is displayed in a "box" above the said messages in both cases - Test page in iframeWhich is the text from the HTML code you indicated. http://www.quirksmode.org/iframetest2.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IFrame http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.asp I REPEAT! It's all in the CODE of any given website/page and not something "necessarily unique" to a given Web Browser which may/may not support such a feature. You focused in on a single phrase that indicated -possibly- another are of problem. Did you even read said Topics? (A: Nope, right?) HTH p.s. you "jumped in" before my edit of previous was completed. edit - I assume you have looked here (instructions on that page)? Mine is set to "true".
  20. (sigh....) Youtube issue again? Browse through these Topics. YouTube doesn't "play nice" with older versions of Browsers -or- Flash, of which we a limited with older Windows OS. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170873-modifyingreplacing-shell32dll-on-nt-40/ http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170603-flash-9-not-working-on-nt-40-consolidated-thread/ YouTube has "upgraded" beyond them. Your "flash" isn't playng them - it's interfacing with their Flash Server Software. IOW, I can't play a SWF/FLV file on my PC after downloading from a Serving Site -unless- I have a stand-alone player. Forget YouTube In A Browser as an example. I'm even betting the Code in their Webpage for IFRAME is goobered up (e.g. no code for OLDER browsers). HTH edit - that "entry" you mention - you didn't supply the -full- name. It appears to be a pop-up referrer website. I just tried it in my FF and guess what? hxxp://ww38.hausaufgaben--referate.de/On "newer" OS with "newer" FF plus Noscript/Ad-Block. I'd say there was a good reason they're there (aslo found in Spybot's HOSTS file list). Although, unsure of why the mod to the Entry didn't happen... edit2 - full "name" translation = "homework - Abstracts"...
  21. 1 - Those names look (ahem) vaguely familiar. 2 - VL? HAH! Product Key? 3 - DataCenter - WHY? 4 - You didn't look very hard for the solution. Go back to where you obtained those and ask. 5 - "Releases"? Exactly! MS never issued them that way. 'Bye now...
  22. Again, you did -not- get DISM from WinToolKit - you got a "warez" one that has NO UNINSTALLER! Indeed, there is NO INSTALLER with GetWaik. Just delete the darned folders and be done with it! BOOM! DISM gone - in XP. AGAIN, DISM is PART OF Win7, so do NOT delete! Right friggin' here!!! NOT INCLUDED!!!!http://www.wincert.net/forum/files/file/8-dism-for-xp-and-vista/ (Please note the NAME on said Package then YOU go google the other one you initially named) I did my research - I had SUGGESTED tryng an OLDER Driver. YOU pay attention. In addition, if YOU paid attention, Intel NEVER said those drivers worked, since they are -really- for a different Video Set. It's that dang SITE that "claims" they are correct. The -OLDER- ones are already on Intel site for (again) OLDER VIDEO! SO.... good luck with HDMI for that model. Comprende?
  23. E.T. - Electronics Technician ('phone home) F.T.B. - Fire Control Technician A.S. Systems Analysis, Design, Programming, Implementation --Well you know what an A.S. is, followed by B.S., then M.S. <=standard joke in academics The whole point was a rebuttal of ROTS' "opinion", of which (IMHO) "opinions are like ____" and serve no useful purpose. To suggest "you don't need one" is akin to "you don't need to get trained to drive on the highway". Not useful, by itself, but EXTREMELY helpful. It -appeared- that ROTS was kind of "deterring" it with such a suggestion, just like "don't install MAC OSX Security Updates". Opinion - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/153963-macos-x-lion/ Foolish (this is the specific one) - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/149769-questions-regarding-mac-os-x-updates/ An expert opinionator doth not sound decisions make. A definition - http://www.thefreedictionary.com/misguided
  24. I believe that's been repeatedly answered in many a topic already. MSFN already works with Win95OSR2.x, Win98, Win98SE, WinME, and Win2k well beyond MS' Support period. Heck we still assist with the "older" ones (NT3/4, Win3.x, etc etc). Guess you didn't notice? I guess what I'm saying is... this is a reduntant topic.
