  1. Forget it. It's over. Never gonna happen. That's why you have to use "End Of Line" updates provided/stashed away. Microsoft transitioned from "MS Updates" v4 to v6 server a long time ago and left v4 in the dust (they pressed the DEL key). The same happened to Win9x a long time ago. Even XP/Server2003 is getting the shaft (lucky if WebArchive has any, Catalog still has them so far...).
  2. Kind of looking like MS screwed up somewhere along the line (again).
  3. I have the exact model. You never specified the Video Card (AGP/PCI?) that you have installed. Max RAM is 1gb and shouldn't (not really sure) have an effect on install, but you could remove a pair to reduce (if you indeed have full capacity). Indeed, you didn't even specify how much RAM you have. The Built-In Network is irrelevant for Install (will show up as an "unknown". The Mouse/Keyboard are PS2 (Make Model you attached?). There are no USB ports. The were sold with Up To 20gb SCSI drives (you say you have a SINGLE 40gb - Make/Model?). I assume you have the BIOS set to boot from it? How did you Initialize it? It also has PATA (IDE) connectors - have you tried putting a IDE HDD in and installing to it instead? Every single TTF appears to have failed. This seems to be odd in the least. Is your Windows an "untouched" or has it been "integrated" with anything? It may help if you give more specific specs than what you gave (other than what I already said). Just saying "E60" doesn't help much (does it have the last available BIOS?). Also, HOW did you install? Be very specific as to the method (direct CD Boot, Floppy Boot, etc) and sequence you used. Comment - Next time put that Log in a ZIP or rename to TXT file and upload it rather than Copy/Paste. You cluttered up the post. Mine (basically): 1gb RAM, Voodoo3 VGA, Dual PIII-550, CD-ROM, Pair of 10GB SCSI (NOT in a RAID Array), ISA Creative Sound, 3 additional Net Cards. XP Pro (ATM). Noisy as all heck (the SCSI and the Power Supply).
  4. Nope. You were just on MDL asking for these. I may have them, but we're not in the habit of sharing (this isn't a "sharing" website). If I do have them and attached them, I would be banned. Your only option is Google. Sorry about your luck. Maybe you'd like to read this before posting again? http://www.msfn.org/board/guidelines/
  5. Folks might want to check out the changes so they'll be forewarned (nothing serious). http://www.rarlab.com/rarnew.htm
  6. Those that won't integrate are placed into the SVCPACK folder. I've collected all of Kurt's list and integrated into an XP 64 with SP2 (pre-Integrated) on a Server 2003 x86 with nLite and tested the install on Server 2008 R2 Virtual (it runs x64, unlike older Windows VM's) then installed all optional Add/Remove. I found that only one fix was missing (can't remember offhand what it was). Please note that I integrated nothing more than Security (e.g. no dotNet). It weighs in beyond a CD capacity so you'll need a DVD. BTW, thanks, Kurt. Took me a while to unscramble your dotNet explanation, though. I'll try to test again (time permitting) and find that other update and post in your XP Updates topic.
  7. Seem like dropped support for Vista coincides with the "CPU Block" that MS has put in place. Almost makes me want to migrate to Linux (heh). Thx for the links and info (was planning on loading Vista "for fun" on a Vista-Ready desktop I have).
  8. "From my cold, dead hands..."
  9. Blackwingcat's package is a "specialty" set for adding new Exports, way beyond your needs (there's a thread somewhere talking about the mods). You could just go with Win2K+HFSLIP package, or just try Mr. Fox' suggestion (also a good option) to see it that gets you where you want to go. In any case, you'll probably have everything you need/want for your immediate needs and you can "compare" later. After all, it shouldn't take that long for reloads, should it? The difference between the two (AFAICR) is that HFSLIP has the individual original MS Fix files and UURollup is a kind of "Service Pack". BTW, I believe the SRP is also in HFSLIP (but can't be sure ATM unless I dig onto my HDD). FWIW, I *think* UURollup has "some" of BWC already in it (stable).
  10. I stumbled across this. It actually works on (at least) XP/2K3 (down to 98?). You have to get it from Wayback since it's history. http://web.archive.org/web/20031204203221/http://www.nizuxsoft.com/download.html Right-click a folder, change date/time for all three, recurse the folder and include all of the files/folders. I went crazy messing with "touch" and found this to be more convenient. It does more than date/time, but I haven't tested it for the other functions. Tested on XP and 2003 x86. No clue if it works on x64, so you're on your own (and it may break your system without manual install to WOW). I like it! So there (nya-nya)! Give it a try, if you have a need for such an item. Beats the heck out of Attribute Magic ($) and (as stated) more convenient than "touch" (unless you need to do batch). EDIT - Forgot to mention - there's no expiration date and fully functional shareware.
  11. Don't forget to uninstall old Java before installing latest one (exit all browsers first). You can still get the MSI and run MSIEXEC against it for silent un-/re-install. A couple of references (in case wanted/needed): http://blog.coretech.dk/clm/silent-install-java-8-update-71-and-72-with-sccm/ https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1144634-java-8-update-60-no-more-msi
  12. Observe dencorso's signature and links. Also note the following: Found via the following Google: "modern motherboards" "windows 98" site:msfn.org
  13. Have you tried any yet? See (Fernando): http://www.win-raid.com/t11f23-Modded-Intel-AHCI-and-RAID-Drivers-digitally-signed-9.html Also, do not it depends on the chipset/controller, so you'll have to be more specific as your initial Q was rather generic and in some cases the answer will be "No". edit - And for NT, absolutely not! It won't happen. Ever! NT4 is the NT-equivalent of DOS-based Windows95.
  14. Well, that explains that. I figured as much. I also disabled Secure Boot. It seemed like more trouble than it was worth (and is a no-no for older OS, AFAIK). It'll stay that way.
  15. Keyboard (includes... DRIVERS): http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/gaming-keyboard-g510#download Odd. Your Mouse is showing as a Mass Storage Device. (DOH!) An AS2105 isn't a mouse! ASMedia USB 3.0 External HDD Enclosure! Your "mouse" is part of the Keyboard? I see you have *TWO* HID devices as part of (beneath) the Keyboard's Composite Device entry. Nope! Razer DeathAdder - http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-deathadder-chroma And there *ARE* drivers for the Razer mouse. *BOTH* appear to be "customizable* (the Mouse says DRIVER is, even!) Value 2200E *appears* to be a Cyberpower USB UPS (Uninterruptible Power Source). Have you installed the Drivers for the devices?
  16. Probably gonna stick my foot in my <select any orifice> and ask - is USB Legacy Support enabled in BIOS? (You do, after all, have PS/2 ports.)
  17. HID (Human Interface Device) = USB (or am I just plain crazy? )
  18. The computer that I'm using used to have Windows 8 Pro when I first got it in February 2014. However, I erased the OEM code in the UEFI BIOS and used Compatibility Support Module (CSM) when I downgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate. Could you clarify the above? I got gifted an HP Pro 3500 that comes with Windows 7 Pro and "upgradable" to Windows 8.1 Pro. Both SLIC2.1 and the Win8.1 key are embedded in the BIOS' MSDM. I considered for giggles installing the 8.1 and activating it but I refuse to clobber it. I did, however, install it but not activate it (did it offline - first time I fiddled with Win8 and yeesh!). Are you saying that Windows does weird stuff to the BIOS? (No way!) Side note: I did not use the Secure-Whatchamacallit setting in the BIOS, only the UEFI / GPT stuff. (Also my first time utilizing those). Both Win7 and Win8.1 installed fine, both UEFI and Legacy. edit: Well, shoot! Maybe the Win8.1 was installed strictly UEFI/GPT... (both installs were x64, BTW) edit2: o_O (and post following)
  19. Re-read the first post. The "plug-in" is installed in each individual user's FireFox Profile folder - per instance (yes, you can have more than one, in addition to User's Default). Beware that the entries indicate are a *must* for it to function (as well as install). As you should know by now, that's the only way to get it.
  20. SATA - loose or not connecting well or near *any* powered wires. I have a perfectly good 320gb that got read errors only - SMART decided it was bad (it isn't) and have to use it in a PC that I can turn that off in BIOS. Be sure to use the "clip" kind of cable so it doesn't jar loose (if you haven't already). Just a thought...
  21. Kind of looks like 7-Zip took it over. Check the settings in that.
