  1. LOL It was the priest!
  2. So AKOT is the last one?
  3. Works for me. XP Pro SP2 with SP3 RC1 slipstreamed via nLite. I tried HFSLIP but that gave me issues.
  4. It uses up about 6-7mb of ram for me.
  5. True.
  6. Why is that? Isn't the most common widescreen 16:9?
  7. If you want more power, you can always overclock it. Its always an option. Its done by BIOS settings. Little bit of voltage, little bit of FSB bump, and presto! Insta-Power! Benchies: http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/07/16/cpu...007/page14.html (notice the very slight performance increase)
  8. I prefer higher contrast, and lower brightness (than average) since most screens are already too bright, and I like to be able to use them at night without burning my eyes out. 800:1 is too low by today's standards, and industry average. I wouldn't buy it. I'm using an 800:1 LCD right now, its standard, nothing spectacular. I would gladly trade it in for a 5000:1.
  9. Correction 'natural sugars', not just concentrated glucose. Its much different from the artificial, and extracted kind (like from Sugar cane). But yeah, water (filtered water, or from a clean tap, not bottled) is much better if you're consuming 2L/day.
  10. Very. It can get pretty complex if you want it to... but going from a Q6600 to a Q6700 is easy and safe. It's a small speed increase that puts little if any strain on the parts. And just to answer your question about the Q6700 vs a Q6600 before... the Q6700 offers little in performance for the exaggerated price. Check out some game & artificial & encoder & rendering benchmarks if you want to see just how much the Q6700 is worth. Its not worth the price at all.
  11. Its got 2 features I like: 1. Simple 2. It pre-renders the document so you den't get ugly tearing like Foxit. But it uses more memory than Foxit, while doing much less. No tools.
  12. My bad. It was LG. http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/11/13/lg_contrast_ratio/
  13. Juice, real fruit juice. Not from concentrate, so it still has all the useful enzymes that usually get destroyed in 'concentration', also known as boiling. And no extra sweeteners (sugar or artificial). That's a whole lot better for you, even with the 'sugar' (its in natural form).
  14. I am using WPA with TKIP (key expires every 7200 seconds), the key is 8 digits long. Would it degrade performance if I bumped the secuirty to WPA2 and use a longer key? I'm looking for a good balance between security & performance. I don't want to use WEP (easily crackable) or leave it unsecured (people can use it and drain my speed). Suggestions?
  15. Care to explain what all those registry tweaks do?
  16. That's true. Think about it, you are making the bottles out of all this plastic, you have to filter the water using god-knows what. Chemicals, filters... etc. You have to transport it to the destination (usually done by trucks, sometimes rail and trucks), and on top of that all that cheap plastic leaks chemicals into the water. Ever heard of xenoestrogens? They're a artificial chemical that mimicks the hormone estrogen (by accident). Its used to soften plastic. And its very, very bad for you. Better off buying a nice, quality water filter and a quality, durable water bottle. Or you can drink tea, juices... etc.
  17. That's true. But it depends on how critical the pdf is. You can give it a shot, or just not use pdf.
  18. How do I change my icons back to the defaults? Or to whatever I want? Whenever I use foxit it replaces all the default icons with the ugly crap it comes with. Same with uTorrent, Firefox.. etc. They don't scale well on the desktop either. I'm using XP.
  19. Use a password. Or maybe some way to make the pdf 'self-destruct' after awhile.
  20. Possibly. With the amounts you consume. Short term, the caffeine is going to affect you. Its going to take a toll on the nervous system. Long term, you have to worry about the aspartame. Its very carcinogenic. Although there have been no real reported cases of people dying or getting cancer, I tend to stay away from compounds that turn toxic at 37 degrees Celsius (average, normal body temperature). Phosphoric acid, and citric acid... meh. They're not great but they're not dangerous. Sodium Benzoate is a preservative, and it also has pretty bad effects, including carcinogenic properties. (but it depends on its shelf life, exposure to light, and heat exposure), because it likes to turn into benzene (rate depends on factors mentioned earlier), a carcinogen. Here is an excerpt from a study about aspartame: http://www.dorway.com/jcohen.html Basically Aspartame = Formaldehyde when exposed to heat. Room temperature has the highest levels of formaldehyde in the experiment. Occupational exposure to formaldehyde by inhalation is mainly from three types of sources: thermal or chemical decomposition of formaldehyde-based resins, formaldehyde emission from aqueous solutions (for example, embalming fluids), or the production of formaldehyde resulting from the combustion of a variety of organic compounds (for example, exhaust gases). Formaldehyde can be toxic, allergenic, and carcinogenic.[7] Because formaldehyde resins are used in many construction materials, formaldehyde is one of the more common indoor air pollutants.[citation needed] At concentrations above 0.1 ppm in air, formaldehyde can irritate the eyes and mucous membranes, resulting in watery eyes. If inhaled, formaldehyde at this concentration may cause headaches, a burning sensation in the throat, and difficulty breathing, as well as triggering or aggravating asthma symptoms.[8] Formaldehyde is classified as a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and as having sufficient evidence that formaldehyde causes nasopharyngeal cancer in humans by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.[9] (from Wikipedia) You're better off smoking a joint to relax, and let the creative juices flow.
  21. Go for it. Its worth a shot. Never done it myself. I always use the CD contents.
  22. Its fine, you can remove them. Don't expect to run it on a tablet PC though. I remove the dot net framework folder anyways. I always install .Net 2.0 & 1.1 after a fresh install and it works a-ok.
  23. Doesn't Samsung have the new 5000:1 LCD panels out soon?
  24. Have you started using nLite yet? Also, what would your copy do? Network, Games, Office.. you can only take out so much and then you break compatibility.
