  1. Yes, but he said gaming rig. More, new games are coming out with multi-core support. Also, if the OP is budget oriented I heard Crossfire with the Radeon 38xxx series is excellent in terms of FPS/dollar. Otherwise 8800GTS or 88000GT in SLi for more performance. If you mean the 512mb 8800GTS (new) vs 640mb 8800 GTS (old) then stick with the new one. Its cheaper, faster, quieter, sucks less power. You'd have to be loony to get the old one. Even the 8800 GT is better than the old 8800 GTS in every single way. Also BFG is the name of the manufacturer. Like Sapphire, BFG, XFX, PNY... etc. They take the chips from nVidia and build the cards.
  2. *click* *click* *click* Where's the full size?
  3. Good thing it was at least bubble wrapped.
  4. And the setup only cost $7000!
  5. Already done. Just updated the video drivers, and it worked very well from then on. Heh. Did you set it to the native resolution? (maximum resoultion the monitor supports). Also I suggest you tweak the settings of the monitor. Brightness, Contrast... and Auto Adjust (makes the image fit correctly and in sync with screen) I like to use the nVidia control panel. There should be a wizard on your to help tweak setting for optimal image quality. On mine its in the Control Panel > Tools > Display Optimization Wizard. @ DonDamm The question I was asking is whether a Widescreen of 1920 x 1080 requires two inputs to drive it. Or would one VGA/DVI cable be enough to drive a 1920 x 1080 resolution? Also, do you need powerstrip? My nVidia control panel lets you set up your own resolutions, does your ATi have this?
  6. DUOD for Duodenum.
  7. I keep trying to get files off uploaded.to but unlike something like rapidshare... it doesn't work! I press the download button of the respective link, it counts down (5), (4), (3), (2), (1) like its searching for the link and then I get a popup window for some ads. Then it does back to 'download' and the same thing happens over and over! What is going on? Is this a legitimate site? Is there another way to 'extract' a link from it?
  8. Try Ubuntu Live-CD. Get it running (no install needed) then try to connect to the internet. If it still hangs, it could be your hardware or connection (external hardware or remote server is doing something). If it doesn't... then its windows.
  9. BUAY
  10. TRUD Newspaper chain in Russia.
  11. There must be a way to send one printing job to two printers. One to a pdf printer, and the other to a hardware printer. Duplicates. Maybe look into that.
  12. 1. Too many startup programs running at the same time. 2. Anti-virus scanning in realtime (scans everything you do and everything incoming) 3. Bad connection. Tweak your MTU. 4. Bad connection. Check you connection limit. 5. Bad connection. Check your wireless or any browser 'accelerator'.
  13. Cool. Why do the icons look like crap though? Does it use its own icons to displays system drives, files... etc.?
  14. I'm looking for a good quality camera. Couple of Megapixels, Flash. Decent quality pictures (little grain, color abberations.. etc.) I don't need a screen to preview images, that's a bonus. Keychain size is ideal for me. Anything bigger is ok, but it has to be very portable.
  15. So I don't trust my Google Gadgets application. Especially the Desktop search feature. I want to monitor and capture the data (for viewing later if possible) it sends back home. Any software to help monitor and capture data?

    Webcam icon

    Do you have xpize installed?
  17. No version yet. Still being developed by XPero.

    uTorrent Icon.

So, any comments. Opinions about my icon? I think it looks great, but not XPize-y enough. Anybody else see that? Or am I just crazy?

    uTorrent Icon.

You mean a skin. I don't see a problem. It fits perfectly with XP. I'll adjust the icon to fit better between the skin and XP. Or maybe just remix the skin a little bit. I'll work on it later. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I still have to do the filetype icon. What sizes do you guys use?
  20. Why not use a 64-bit reshacker clone program? Aren't there some out there?

    uTorrent Icon.

errr.. what? Please define what you mean (pictures help). I was only aware of 2 icons. The program icon, and the filetype icon.

    Vize for XP?

Looks pretty. I'll give it a shot. Is this custom made? Or have the icons and such been replicated from the Vista ones?

    Vize for XP?

But how complete is it? I like XPize because it gets rid of the old legacy icons... and Vize does the same thing. Is VistaPack as complete? Will it override everything? I don't want half XPize and half VistaPack icons. And does it do ISO modification?
  24. If I can skip Vista, then I will. So far I'm using XP and have been very happy with it. And contrary to popular belief, it is faster than its predecessor! (Windows 2000 Pro) Also, I have tried it. I currently have 2 PCs in my house that have Vista running. I just haven't gotten around to exterminating the giant bugger. Waiting for XP SP3.
  25. I love this tool. Just wanted to say thanks.
