  1. that site needs to learn the difference between freeware and adware/spyware . I dont know if your trully given the option to not install the adware or not because thats as far as i got. -install if you want but don't say i didnt warn you Ill stick with a real freeware screensaver for now So install on a Virtual machine and then extract the .scr (screensaver file) and its relatives without the system damaging crap.
  2. What firmware is currently reccomended for the WRT54G router? I'm having some networking issues and I want to see if new firmware will help. I need something that is most up-to-date or bug free. Whichever is most stable. I wouldn't mind some extra functions/performance out of my router. Worst case scenario. What happens if I mess it up. How do I re-flash a broken firmware upgrade?
  3. So do I. However replacing the card is not an option. I bought it because it worked without any problems (at the beginning). I have a spare wireless card. A D-Link Extreme G. Atheros chipset. Absolutelly horrible card or drivers. I've also tried a linksys card at the same time when I got the Dynex. Same problem. The Dynex is the only one that I managed to get working (user manual instructions).
  4. I'll see about other firmware.

  6. I wonder if its worth it to learn DVORAK?
  7. So I'm having some connectivity issues with my Wi-Fi. On my PC I have a Dynex Card from Best Buy (really cheap, yellow & blue packaged ones). My Desktop goes from having a very good connection to no connection. I have it connecting to a Linksys router. Sometimes the SSID is not even displayed when the connection goes out. The problem is I can always connect to my neighbor's Open wireless at any time. No problem. I'm thinking its something up with the router, but I have a laptop with an Intel Wi-Fi card that always works with my router. What can I do to pinpoint the exact problem? It's really weird.
  8. I believe it's both. If I'm not mistaken this software has been discontinued and used to be paid software. So how can it be warez if its abandoned?
  9. So what happens if I actually have surround sound?
  10. I wouldn't buy it though. You can probably find a free one somewhere.
  11. I would like to edit the Black Mesa theme. !valkerie from deviantArt has also made his Photoshop sources available. Would it be best to edit the .msstyles or to rebuild the theme after messing with the sources? Is it possible to use some sort of wizards-like application to help me build the theme? I haven't done this before. Noob. Here is the theme:
  12. I understand the theory behind why it shouldn't work, but on paper it looks nice. It might make a nice project though. Cheap too. All I have to do is get some magnets. This could make a nice project. Even if there is an incredibly high chance it won't work... at all.
  13. Looks like the Alky project at Falling Leaf Systems is no more. The team has dis-banded. They have made their source code available under LGPL. http://www.fallingleafsystems.com/ Here is the official letter on Google Groups: Cody Brocious It is with great sadness that I announce the closing of Falling Leaf Systems, LLC. We set out over a year ago to provide users of both "old and unsupported" as well as "alternative" Operating Systems the ability to run the latest games for the PC. Unfortunately, Falling Leaf Systems was unable to achieve that goal. However, every ending tends to open another door for opportunity and though we are saddened to announce our departure, we are almost as excited to announce the immediate availability of ALL source code for the Alky Project! It is licensed under the LGPL and includes both the orginal Alky Converter source used to convert the popular Prey Demo to run on OSX and Linux, as well as the alpha release of the Alky Compatibility Libraries which attempted to provide a DirectX10 compatible runtime for Windows XP. All of this is available at http://www.fallingleafsystems.com/ We have also created some new forums on the site for users to discuss the coming cycle of DirectX 10 based games. We hope that you'll pop in there from time to time, and we also hope you join our mailing list to receive an announcement in case some other Open Source project decides to carry on the Alky banner. We appreciate all your past support; Happy gaming! Will someone continue this project?
  14. Same here. You just pop in the game and play. No tweaking, no upgrading your system, and no troubleshooting.
  15. Yes and no. If you want backwards compatibility you have to get an old version PS3 or the 80GB one. Sony is removing the needed chips to save money. The 40GB does not have it, and they're thinking of removing it on the 80GB one too. I recommend getting the old (about 6months old) 20GB versions or the 80GB if you have the cash. The console is shaping up ok. Not too many must get games. They're coming but its very slow. If you want to play great games now, and like to have a huge library to choose from then get a 360. They are unreliable though. High failure rate. If you want to see what graphics of PS2 on PS3 looks like browse this thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158224
  16. I agree. Look what happened to Vista. They rushed it and it came out like garbage. Looks like re-writing longhorn, and then rushing to make up lost time wasn't such a great idea.
  17. The Onion is not a real news source. Its satire. Kind of like Fox/CNN. Just as reliable.
  18. I got an nForce2 PC using Vista... not much longer though. Sound and everything out of the box, no driver issues with nForce2.
  19. http://www.fpsoftlab.com/galaxy3d.htm What did I search for? 3d galaxy screensaver
  20. Its not working for me. I'll try it on a fresh SP2 and SP3 RC1 to see if there's a difference.
  21. This 'error' I actually don't mind since it blends in very well. It does not jut out or anything.
  22. I used 32-bit color. I did not use the 3rd party utilities like TClock from the pack. Just skin & icons.
  23. I agree. Vista = Windows ME SP3
  24. I've just found out about exFAT/FAT64 file system. Vista uses it for external devices and can read/write to it. Can XP have such a capability and would it be a better option than using NTFS for the main system? Assuming it will work faster or be more reliable than NTFS.
  25. If you want a simpler program to use, try handy recovery after you make the copy. I used that and got some good results. It didn't recover everything, but I think it was my fault since I overwrote some of the old data.
