  1. Do you have ideas on that or pics of one you have done? Thanks
  2. No room to just install it in a 3.5 inch bay. Only 5 1/4 so need the case I guess.
  3. Just a generic case with 3 51/4 bays. I did see one on Newegg but they say loud fans and not sure this will keep the Hdd cool.? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817123304
  4. Ok thanks for the help. How about if I put it in a 5 1/4 inch swap bay? Ii am think of this as I do not have any room in the 3.5 bay area. What are some good cases like this for SATA hdd's? Thanks
  5. Well I have had it just sitting idle for an hour and it started at 25 c and now it is at 45 c. So is this good? Thanks
  6. Is it normal for SATA Hdd's to run hot I have one out side of my case and when I touch it after it has been running for 2 hours it is very hot to the touch. Is this normal?? It is a Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 400 Gig SATA 3.0gb drive. I am running HD Tune and wanted to no what a normal range is and when I should get worried if it gets to a certain temp.? Also what are some good ways to keep it cool once I but it back in the case? Should I put it in a 3.5 bay and have fans blowing on it or put it in a 5 1/4 removable case in the tower? Thanks
  7. Yes the core clock is faster on the 8800 GTS G92 Version. I am going for it. I also change the hdd's and the DVD and CPU to a 6600. Now it is at $1900+Shipping. Not to bad. I wonder if Ii wait until say next June/July if it would be worth it. Heard if I do there are some sweet products coming out and this rig I am after would be about $500 less. Arghhhh, Decisions are killing me what to do now.
  8. Thanks for the info. I saw the Asus DVD reviews so figured it was good one to go with not big on Light scribe but it had good reviews and was black. I have a Pioneer now so I was shocked to see bad reviews also on the one you both listed. Ideas on which way to go with a case? Also is the BFG 512 8800 GTS (G92) Better than the 8800 GTS? Thanks
  9. Jcarle - Thanks for the input. So the MOB i am getting is not as good as the Maximus and I should change it? Asus recomended it to me and said it is an easier board to put in after market cpu coolers on then Maximus. ???? Also what about the case / Psu choices? Ideas. The HDD 400GB I have is brand new so I have to use it, may get another one like it then and do a raid 0. Ii found the DVD drive but a lot of bad reviews on it, DOA or Dies after 3 months, lots of bad burns ect. Fot the CPU I have been told not much of a jump from the 6600 to the 6700 for the extra $$. But I read through Newegg reviews and it seems they still ship out the old series chip and not the GO version. You have a 50/50 chance to get the GO version. Not sure it is worth the risk. Thoughts? Thanks
  10. I called ASUS on the motherboard choice and I was looking at the ASUS Maximus series but it has Bios issues now and they say that they get a lot of calls on it so this was the most stable rock solid board and is still with X38 series. for the DVD drive I need a black face one and your choice is beige so will not work. The 1terabyte hdd will be second the main hdd is a Sata 400gb 7200 rpm hdd by Seagate ST3400633AS. I forgot to add it in the past post. Also for video always have had good luck with BFG: Ii think I may goto this one though now seems to be a bit better card: BFG Tech BFGE88512GTSE GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail Over clock version. Thoughts? only $10 more than other 8800GT above. Ideas on ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler Or ZALMAN CNPS5700D-CU 65mm 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink or the cases? Thanks

So what do you all think? Comments, Ideas, Suggestions. Thanks
  12. Are you getting this all from one website? I am looking on just Newegg now, but they are out of the BFG 8800 GTS G92 512 meg cards. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814143119 Or is this one a better card, I just want to make sure. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814143117
  13. The BFG 8800 GT 512meg is thin compared to, the 8800 GTS 640meg and should run a lot cooler.
  14. Ripken204: So which case on say newegg would be the top 5? I am having an issue with deciding on an MOB myself. I though Ii had it locked into two of them both ASUS MOB's but after reading reviews from people on Newegg I am a bit worried to buy either now. The MOB's were: ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Seems to have a major issue with BIOS not working and they have gone through serveral BIOS versions already. Also stated it runs on the warm side and hard to fit an after market cooler on the cpu due to the piping. ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - This one seems to be a little better as not as much wrong with it. BIOS seems to be an issue on this one as well. So what would be so solid MOB's for this CPU and Memory? Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80562Q6700 Kingston HyperX 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Also looking at going with this OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional 64Bit SP2C. Thanks
  15. Foolios: looks good, what is the total cost so far for this? I am also looking at getting a gaming rig. But I have a little different choices then you. I will post mine here also to see what you think on them. I have heard Cool Master cases are suppose to be the best for air flow and keeping hardware cool.
