  1. Is there a way to make an app like WMPClassic or VLC integrate themselves into pages? I don't have WMP10 or 11 and I don't plan to install it, but one of the options I really like with it is how it can play videos from news sites like CNN or BBC. However, whenever I visit sites like that, they ask me to upgrade to the latest version of WMP. Any workaround? Maybe a way to figure out what the link of the stream is and attempt to play in VLC or the like?
  2. Is there another ption to Quicktime alternative? I know that its lighter than regular qucktime, but is there a codec pack (or an installer) that puts on your PC JUST the codecs? I know that Alternative instals alot of crap also. A codec can't be 50mb can it? If its against forum rules to post about such "barely legal" codec packs, can someone PM me the info please?
  3. Thanks. That helps alot. I didn't know what it was called. [/sarcasm]
  4. I have a 128mb usb stick. I'd like to install windows from it. Instead of waiting for the CD to erase, write, and then istall. USB has faster tranfer rate. No? What would be the fastest method of getting the installation files to use the USB? Just extract the .iso to it? What would I do for the boot sector? And yes, my PC is capable of booting from USB. Acronis does it, but it also "burns" the bootable app directly to the USB.

Anybody do this with Server 2003? Its my OS of choice as it has XP compatibility and almost 2000 speed and lightness. And how would one go about testing such an install? Any battery of tests you guys reccomend to see what's working okay and what's not? Also, this would have to be updated with upcoming service packs... right? Because they modify the system.
  6. It's and okay pack, but it looks just like the other Vista packs out there. There's Vista Transformation Pack 6. Its the most complete one to date. What sets yours apart? Even the icons look the same. You could have at least messed around with the colors. Or modified the icons slightly too.
  7. R2 is not an OS, its a bundle of tools for large scale managing of network systems. You have Server 2003 SP1 + R2 in the case. 2 Separate CDs. Its an addon pack. Theres no such thing as Server 2003 R2. Its just server 2003 with R2. More info: http://www.winsupersite.com/faq/win2003_r2.asp Look on the site. Lists all the tools it comes with. Ironically, they are also tools you will never use unless you run a large, complex network. R2 is primarily designed to combine the gold version of Windows Server 2003 with Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and the various out-of-band updates, now called Feature Packs, that Microsoft has shipped since Windows 2003 was first released. According to Microsoft, these Feature Packs include: Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM). A light run-time mode for Active Directory designed specifically for deploying secure, directory-based applications. Automated Deployment Services (ADS). A set of Microsoft imaging tools designed to help you rapidly deploy Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 remotely onto bare-metal servers. ADS also features a remote script execution framework that helps administrators perform script-based management tasks on hundreds of servers as easily as they once did on a single server. DSML Services for Windows (DSML). Enables Active Directory access using SOAP over HTTP. Identity Integration Feature Pack (IIFP). Manages identities and user details across Active Directory, Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM), Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, and Exchange Server 2003 environments. Remote Control Add-on for Active Directory Users and Computers. An add-on that adds the option to right-click a computer account in the Active Directory MMC and choose Remote Control on that computer by opening a Terminal/Remote Desktop connection to that computer. Services for NetWare 5.02 SP2. A cumulative set of updates and services that have been offered since the release of Services for Netware 5.01 SP 1. Shadow Copy Client. A client update that lets Windows versions earlier than Windows Server 2003 take advantage of the intelligent file storage capabilities of the Shadow Copies of Shared Folders feature. Windows Rights Management Services (Windows RMS). An information protection technology that works with RMS-enabled applications to help safeguard digital information from unauthorized useâ€â€both online and offline, inside and outside of the firewall. Windows Rights Management Services Client. The client code for Windows RMS. Windows SharePoint Services. A powerful Web-based team collaboration environment. The R2 version will include TrustBridge compatibility for sharing information with partner companies and customers. Windows System Resource Manager (WSRM). Provides resource management and enables the allocation of resources among multiple applications based on business priorities.
  8. 2003 runs a little faster for me. its not magic but a slight performance boost. I like it because SP2 was just released for it, and its more stable overall. Less crashes and problems with Server. You can got the best of both worlds XP & Server with: http://www.windowsxlive.net/?page_id=92 Thanks to Windows X. Creater of Vista Transformation pack.
  9. What is it compatible with... just XP? Can I use it on Server 2003?
  10. Smaller Server 2003 SP2 install. Its about 1/3rd biger than an XP install with the same options.
  11. Awesome. It would be cool if you guys also included cleatype into W2K. As an option in the pack. Doesn't TClock include something like this for Windows2K?
